Many of the varieties we grow aren't often available commercially as we aim for the unique, delicate and different. Caring for wildlife and nature lie at the core of what we do. We have regular animal garden visitors including deer, rabbits, pheasants, birds and hundreds of minibeasts. All of our flowers are pesticide and chemical free and we use tried and tested gardening methods, working with nature to create healthy happy plants. It’s dahlia planting time! We’ve got plenty of great tubers and some growing tips to get you going 🌸Find our dahlia tubers 🌸 @radfarmersmarket today and every Wednesday in May 3-6pm as well as at our on-farm plant sale in Alexander this Saturday 1-5pm. Prefer to get a jumpstart and earlier flowers? We also offer potted dahlias to plant that are already sprouted and growing! ✨Dahlia planting tips✨ 🌸Plant in full sun (ideally) or part shade. Space 18-24” apart. Plant with the top of the tuber approx. 1” under soil level and the “eyes” pointing up. 🌸After planting, water once if it won’t rain soon. Until you see sprouts emerge from soil surface, no need to keep watering as it can cause tubers to rot, especially in heavy clay soils.
