I’ve done both. And honestly I cannot tell you which is harder. Human or veterinary medicine. You give so much of who you are though out the day to go home to your loved ones, barely a shell of who you are. Whether they know it or not each patient we come in contact with, we care deeply for. Regardless of what we might say otherwise. But the patients still cuss you out, tell you you’re worthless or pathetic and even throw things at you. All for the fact they feel entitlement to something you just can’t give in the moment. Short staffed and over worked, we still show up day after day. Then there are those patients that light up when they see you and you light up when you see them. The snazzy dressers, the sharp sense of humor, the walking history books of talent and knowledge. The singer’s performance is bolstered by some very sharp playing, not only by his established sideman/collaborator Chris Stainton, but also some top-notch session musicians, among them drummer Tony Visconti, Steve Winwood, Jimmy Page, and Albert Lee, all sitting in. It’s Cocker’s voice, a soulful rasp of an instrument that carries this album. The album is a ten-track mixture of covers and originals that seem perfectly suited to his voice. I've been going to the gym on Monday and Thrusday mornings as of late (I think it was since the beginning of February-ish I started) for physical and mental health, and it does take some time to reach to that point. I feel something right now, which is good. I'm not feeling too bad now.
