What a day! We spent many hours at the wonderful Martensville Veterinary Hospital intaking a few new dogs from the northern community as well as had another checkup for sweet Hank when he was showing some lameness in his back leg. We can’t thank their team enough for their support with these dogs! We will post some pictures of some of the findings mixed in with some cute pics of the dogs so just be aware when swiping that there are some graphic pics! This means more fosters, more finances and more support needed. We wish these dogs never had to face any pain or suffering but we are so glad to be able to show them love now! Bohdi’s entire body is covered in lesions. He’s such a great patient and will need medication, bathing, skin care, some weight management and more! Lila is another with some major hot spots found under her coat, some infected and will need a good grooming, medication and skin care! She wiggled the whole appointment. We had to hold her wagging tail still while we shaved her fur to examine the areas. She doesn’t know she’s as big as she is and was happy to get love by anyone! Brandi made it through her list of needs relatively unscathed. She was happy and sweet but her ears need treatment and were sore and some increased calories are in order for her! Hank, what a darling, they were able to do a very thorough exam of his knees, X-rays, and more all without needing sedation! He’s so darn good! His hips look ok but possible slight tear in one of his knees, rest and inflammation control is recommended but we also discovered he has a large heart with a murmur. He may is stable and doing well but may mean some meds in the future if any progression so that’s means extra care during future neuter surgery moving forward! These dogs were all phenomenal for the team at the vet and we’re going ensure they get all they need as well as spays and neuters. If you’re looking for an amazing animal to intake into your rescue organization, foster, adopt or just want to support a good cause. These dogs are where it’s at! My babies... a huge reason why I did the surgery. In and out of bad mental health, wanting to go out instead of hiding away, wishing I was more able to do stuff, enjoying summer more with them, being able to run with them, even picking stuff up after them 😂. Word of the month: strength. For March, I will focus and lean into my strength and also learn how to be stronger. I want to be honest, the last 3 years since becoming a lone parent have been eye wateringly tough. At times touch and go. Stretched to a new degree. The first time I've ever thought 'can I actually do this' sometimes. It's taught me to ask for and accept help. That it's ok to sometimes just be a 'good enough' mum. To surrender at times. To congratulate myself for what I do do not what I don't. And what a gift they have been in all the ways you don't expect. I also want to represent (all of course but) the mums & dads that have had to do it alone. Quite frankly thank goodness I never have to raise any babies on my own again. I won't feel guilty for that. I feel proud to be honest. It's ok to survive lessons and challenging seasons but not enjoy every moment. To allow my feelings and challenges to be seen, like yours and breathe a sigh that things genuinely are easier now as I knew they would be. With which comes more enjoyment of them. 🫶🏻👩👦👦🤍 I've missed them so much this week but it's given me the chance to sit back and recollect all of the above and ready to start anew. For so long, we have just accepted that we are supposed to get a job 💼 and work 38+ hours a week until we hit "retirement" and even then we have a list of requirements that need to be met in order to ACTUALLY retire. What's your plan if you don't meet the requirements? Then what? Not everyone is lucky enough to even make it to retirement. Their lives are cut short way too soon, before they have had a chance to explore the world 🌎 Some questions to ask yourself if you are considering working until then👇 Will I have saved enough money 💰 to live the life I want? Will I be in good enough health 🏥 to do the things I planned after retirement? If I haven't saved enough💲💲💲will the pension be enough to cover the cost of living? Recently, on the news, there was a segment on raising the retirement age again... This made my stomach drop, not only for me but for my kids.. I don't want my children to try and force themselves to fit into society's NORM and work themselves to the bone to only MAYBE make to retirement? SCREW THAT 🙅♀️ The buck stops with me 🛑 I'm proving to them that they can break free and create their own rule's..they have the right to design their OWN lives. 🙌

Full-time working mum here and living the FIFO wife life.. Not gonna lie - its hard to juggle everything sometimes and being away from my partner a lot … It’s even harder to put my babies in daycare from a young age but when I see these daily photos it makes me a lil happier knowing they learn and do so much fun things….
