It was honestly weird to live out a dream that I had worked so hard towards. I collected the memories, I’d collect the feelings, I collected the people. ✨ I collected so much that I found it hard to see myself without those people in my life. Not knowing when to let go, release, untether, I found myself often weighed down by all I had collected. Over time the weight of this amassed collection of people became heavy … slowly I decided to start letting go of all that did not serve me. In time, I started to learn that the feeling of being lighter out-weighed the collection of the ties that had me in a bind. Little by little, I unburdened myself of the troublesome relationships, the ones that took, the ones that exhausted me. Slowly, my heart opened wider, my mind decluttered, and my being felt free from all those I had collected. ✨ My collection is much smaller now, but the pieces collected are carefully chosen, are precious, are unmatched, are untarnished, are unbent. These are the relationships I cherish, they are prized and priceless. I am grateful for each relationship I have collected in my heart, each has taught me something, and each has led me to the invaluable ones I keep close to me today. ✨ If you’ve gotta close a door and burn a bridge to let go of the ish that doesn’t help you grow into a better you, then … dang it… slam that door and light a match! ✨ Let go. ••• I’m starting to feel really happy. It’s taken a lot of work and I’ve had to make some meaningful changes in my life, but slowly I’m getting there. I’ve surrounded myself with people who actually care about me and want what’s best for me. I had the opposite in my life for too long all because I was holding out hope that they would change. In 2022, I used money from my personal bank account to make payroll. It was the lowest point for me in business ownership. I had prepared for a glorious maternity leave, and then SH*T hit the fan. Three long-term clients stopped working with us due to funding issues. A couple of promising sales fell through. My daughter was in the NICU, so I couldn't jump into the sales process to help us recover quickly. I remember looking at my husband and saying, "Stratos is a glorified hobby, not a business. Surrounding yourself with a community that sees, appreciates, values, encourages, supports and loves you and all that makes you YOU is absolutely so necessary in your health and overall life journey. I personally have come to realize that while it’s easy to have loads of friends, having the few who truly know you (I mean the REAL you- the person with the hopes, dreams, quirks and also the flaws, weaknesses and not-so-great things) and love you for who you are is quite rare. We can be surrounded, but being KNOWN is a completely different thing. When life gets hard (and let me tell you, this year has NOT been easy), I want people who will show up and sit with me in my “mess,” knowing they’re not put off by me not having it all together. It’s so easy to isolate and pull back, showing only the parts of us we want seen, while hiding the darker things we think people will judge us for. But in all honesty, that only leads to loneliness, self-pity, shame, selfishness and really, us being in our own heads. When we’re isolated, we’re vulnerable. Who are the people who encourage you when you’re feeling stuck, down or overwhelmed in life? Who supports you on your journey, cheerleads, shows up and stays consistent? Who cries with you in the hard times, listens when you need to get something off your chest, giving you space to be messy and sometimes pretty dang ugly? Who loves you enough to call you out when you’re wrong, confronts when you’re “out of character,” sees the flaws but doesn’t define you by them and holds space for you, unoffended, because they know that isn’t the real you? Who forgives and forgets quickly? Who can you be fully “you” around, in all your glory, knowing you’re fully embraced just the way you are? Who’s trustworthy, someone you can be vulnerable with, knowing what you share stays safe and won’t be used against you later? These are just some of the things I’ve asked myself recently. Be intentional about who is in your tribe. Cultivate real, supportive friendships and be a true friend yourself!

Pretty stationery really does make a difference! You can make a list or take notes on the back of an envelope (I do it all the time), but there's just something satisfying about a good quality piece of paper with a cute design for your to do list.
