In the lead up to Mother's Day, this Tuesday's night 4Her event treated our ladies to a beautiful high tea on the deck. This was an extra special night for the ladies, from the gorgeous decorations, to the photo booth, delicious teas and decadent treats, all enjoyed under an ambient glow of twinkle lights. It was such a warm and relaxing atmosphere and all 59 ladies had a blessed evening! I’ve spent so much time in my head trying to figure out the perfect balance of motherhood and business owning. Balance, such a loaded concept lol. Child care or not? A hard question as a work from home mom. But I’ve realized the best thing for us right now is to do our best and lean into the chaos. I do my best work when I put time and love into my personal life. Experiencing the world through the eyes and curiosity of a 15 month old makes me see the importance of slowing down and appreciating time — something I encourage clients to do on wedding days and in sessions. This summer will be a lot, I’m sure. A lot of editing but a lot of playground time. Late nights on dance floors and late nights of catching up on time with my husband. Lots of documented emotions and experiences for you, and lots of new experiences for us. Doesn’t that make you feel good? Avoid places that feel heavy, depressed or when a server is in a bad mood. They say never cook while you’re angry as the energy can transmit into the food and likewise if you prepare food or are resenting food preparation and don’t give a shit, then those you are cooking for and yourself will not be nourished as a result of your attitude and dislike for food preparation. Rather than seeing it is a chore see it as a form of expression of love for oneself and being able to extend that to others. The Sunday Squad:: This week we met mid afternoon taking washing in and popping washing out... 🌿 Keith has been planting out his runner beans and banking his first lot of potatoes. 🌿 I've been mowing, moving the last of the gravel on the path and also trying to remember to water the greenhouse! 🌿 Penny has been chatting to Blue and Puppy Rufus and watering everywhere else 🫣. 🌿 Our garden and Keith's garden backs onto some other lovely neighbours and they've been sharing seedlings for us all to plant together.... although the tray is now with me and they're sitting waiting to be put out. 🌿 It was so wonderful playing out all afternoon yesterday, we even had dinner outside and then Penny performed a wonderful show for us. Keith came out to water his greenhouse just as Penny and I were riverdancing to C'est La Vie and chose to ignore us which I think was best for everyone in that moment. 🌿 I'm hoping to get some other bits planted and weeded now that the weather is getting a bit brighter and I'm very excited that my roses have started to flower. 🌿 We played guess the roast and I guessed pork but the answer was chicken. . Credit: expandedflow As soon as I close my 1st deal, I'm ghosting everyone & moving to the other side of the country. This is my selfish year. I'm no longer tolerating relationships that aren't fulfilling & I refuse to settle for mediocrity in life. Unhinged until I close that 1st deal that will make me between $30-$80k & completely change my life. After that, my goal is to close 50 deals by the end of the tax year, take that money & put most of it towards launching my Ecommerce brand. Originally, I was going to launch with 1 product, but decided I'd rather wait until I have 100x the capital (my own capital & nobody else's) so I can grow the brand quicker, & just have a bigger budget to work with to get things moving quicker. Launch will take an extra year but it'll be worth it. I also decided to close my other Ecom store because it just wasn't producing enough sales & wasn't worth the time anymore. INSPIRED BY A FRIZZ OF JOY! whenever I am out walking my dog Buster, I am always noticing what catches my attention. Those little 'oooo' moments, similar to a delicious taste sensation. I then look at these images back in my studio, maybe make sketches from them and work out what has caused this little frizz of joy. Then it tends to subconsciously appear in my paintings....that ripple on the puddle or the shape of that cloud. My art is all about finding joy, both in nature and in my process 😊

Confessions of a Prolific Creative! My mind is constantly spewing thoughts. I grab them and pour them into my journals. I funnel them into spontaneous interesting blog posts. I jot ideas down on post it notes and on lined notepads. And I'm overwhelmed by myself. I struggle to keep "organized". I can't nail down systems that would help me keep a clear focus. My email folders are numerous. My notes app is jammed. I cleared my computer desktop and was nervous about putting things in folders. This confession is even more difficult being I'm a Virgo and can pride myself in my organizational habits. But somehow, this all befuddles me. Because i think I've used it to stay invisible. I've been thinking a lot this week about how I got started in this business of design. About this time 8 years ago I decided to leave my career in tech. My father had just passed away and I was struggling to connect with a job I wasn't passionate about anymore. That first year was tough - going back to school and attempting a massive career change while also navigating in the fog of grief was a lot, but it's led to something really amazing. Sometimes I hate that loosing my dad is what started me on this journey, at times the wins can feel bittersweet.
