Because Frigg's colors are technically blues and whites, I decided to give them to Fulla for this outfit as I dressed Frigg in purple instead. When I decide to commission other artists to draw my valkyries for me, at least I have Aura in her armor and I have references for her battle hammer. Valhalla The Valkyries Fire Meet one of my antagonists, Kiara Vitaliadottir, the Valkyrie of Shadows/Darkness, and Aura's oldest sister. Kiara's been concepted before, but both her dress and hairstyle have changed drastically since her original drawing. Unfortunately, as much as I wanted to draw her with her armor as well, like with Aura's concept, I couldn't figure out how to draw it. I described Kiara's black armor to be sharp with ravens crafted about it. I couldn't do it. Maybe another time, but for now, I'm happy with how she's turned out. Valhalla The Valkyries Fire Meet a supporting character, Aura Vitaliadottir, Valhalla's friend and the Valkyrie of Light. Like with Saya, I've actually concepted Aura before. I changed her dress to be more Norse inspired and pulled her hair back, but her armor is pretty much the same. I wasn't sure what to do differently with it, so I kept most of the design and added a cape this time. I also realized something while I was concepting Aura, this book has a stupidly big cast of characters. So, instead of concepting everyone, especially the amount of minor characters there are in this book, I'm just going to concept some of the major characters, and do half body illustrations with the rest, especially with my take on the gods of Asgard and the Valkyrs. I really like that idea, but first I need to get at least Elva from Inheritance Cycle drawn and finished first before doing another series of illustrations. That's my plan at least. ✍🏼Writing Update✍🏼 Now I KNOW I haven't talked about this story in a bit. This is ESTSoR, I know I have another Snow White retelling, and I know these acronyms don't mean much right now, but I want to talk about ESTSoR alone for this post. So fun news, while I was waiting to start writing my current WIP, I ended up outlining both the Prologue and Chapter 1 of ESTSoR. It's not much I know, but I'm so stoked to finally start both Rein's and Fenrir's journey. Who are they you may ask? Well, they're my protagonists for this book. Rein is my Snow White character while Fenrir is my Huntsman. Rein is the High Princess, the heir to her father's kingdom. She's kind, caring, loves to play the lute, and loves sweets so much that her friends joke about that because she eats so much sweets that THAT'S why she's so nice. Fenrir is loyal, dutiful, strong, loves to bake with his Amma, especially sweets, trains with his older sister and her girlfriend to relieve stress, and is in tune with the wolves of Jagersen. He cares for the enchanted forest they live in and, like Rein, worships the swan goddess Odette. Valhalla The Valkyries Fire Meet Protagonist 2 of 2 Alistair Hilliard II. This character hasn't gone through as much changes as Valhalla, but they are noticable. Alistair's hair has changed a bit and he now has a 2nd tone to his skin, I took inspiration from vitiligo and created a fictional skin condition that adds unnatural colors to a person's skin at birth. I've even given him heterochromia too. His outfits, however, have largely stayed the same. I'm really happy with how he came out, but I did wish I knew what the frick to do with his outfit, I pretty much was stuck with the grey parts of the design, but the new sword looks cool to me hehe. Writing Update Ok, I have to be careful what I write here because sudden hidden, but here I go wish me luck lol. It's been a while since I last talked about TCfFP, and I want to let everyone know, or remind you, that this story has been completely rewritten! Yay. My alpha reader is currently going through it, he has like 5 chapters left to read and is going through it as fast as possible. I'm hoping that by the end of January I will start looking for beta readers. I will only be doing 1 round of it, and if you're someone who wants to follow a Latin American inspired character(this is a dark fantasy story) who speaks Spanish and loves the demon designs from Diablo 3 but with personalities like the angels and demons from Lucifer, stick around because I'll need at least 5 readers, at most 10. Norsevember day 9 Niflheim and Muspelheim Welcome to my final day of Norsevember where I get to talk about my New Adult Epic Fantasy alternate telling of Norse Mythology, Valhalla The Call of Yggdrasil. Today I will be talking about both Niflheim, former realm of the dragons, and Muspelheim, realm to the fire demons. The reason I'm talking 2 realms instead of 1, is because the doorway to get IN to Muspelheim was created IN Niflheim. The dragons were once ruled by 8 great dragons, until they were corrupted and began to war with each other. While that was happening, there was no one around to stop Ragnarok himself from creating the firery realm. Why? To cut off the other 8 realms and have Yggdrasil all to himself. After the war ended, and Nidhogg was punished for starting the Great Dragon War, imprisoning him in the now frozen tundra that is Niflheim, the remaining dragons were transported to Midgard, where they should be safe, but their numbers struggle to remain stable and increase. Today I will be talking about the dark elf realm of Svartalfheim. Unlike their light elf counterparts, dark elves don't rely on magic for day to day needs, or protection. In fact, they scarcely use it. They live almost similarly as humans, but more agile with ingenuity that could rival the dwarves in weapon making and engineering. Broken up into 4 clans, their realm was put together thanks to Freyr and Frigg. Although powerful than all the other beings in all the nine realms, they can be conceited, pompous, and self righteous.
