Our lives are full of technology nowadays. Our entire day can feel like it’s full of notifications, emails, messages, social media, news alerts it can sometimes feel like it’s never ending. Disconnecting from technology entirely isn’t realistic so what can you do to help? Try setting boundaries, so turning off notifications, we don’t need to be on top of things all the time. If turning off notifications completely seems a step too far, then allow yourself five minutes every hour to check in on things but be strict with yourself. Disconnect yourself from technology at regular intervals during the day. Give your brain a few ‘mindless’ moments, time to allow your brain to switch off and reboot. A quick 10 minute walk outside, without tech, or sitting quietly and staring out the window observing the world for 10 minutes. A lot of media coverage is negative and can end up weighing on us heavily. Look for a few positives each day to counteract that.
