The Perks Of Being A Wallflower- 3⭐: There isn’t necessarily anything terribly wrong with the book but there isn’t anything great about it for me. It feels a little slow and there wasn’t any exciting action. I don’t know if it is the epistolary style or the writing, but I find myself having a hard time getting into the novel. I felt very much like an observer in the whole thing and it made it harder for me to connect with the book. Hi my friends! ᡣ˶ᵔ ᵕ ᵔ˶𐭩 ♡ Here is a weekly bookish update of what I’ve been I’ve been reading this past week (05/20-05/26). ⋆˚✿˖° I started and finished 𝐍𝐨 𝐎𝐧𝐞 𝐂𝐚𝐧 𝐊𝐧𝐨𝐰 𝐛𝐲 𝐊𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐀𝐥𝐢𝐜𝐞 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐬𝐡𝐚𝐥𝐥. I read it as a traveling book for one of the book clubs I’m in. It was really good and fast paced. I hated all the characters except one and while I predicted the plot twist, I still had an entertaining time getting there. ⋆˚✿˖° I also started listening to 𝐒𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐬 𝐅𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐓𝐞𝐧𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐬 𝐃𝐨𝐰𝐧𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐢𝐫𝐬 𝐛𝐲 𝐒𝐢𝐝𝐢𝐤 𝐅𝐨𝐟𝐚𝐧𝐚. I’m currently 22% in and I am enjoying it so much. I love how there are different voice actors for the characters and how each of them have a story of their own. ⋆˚✿˖° Hubby and I went to our favorite Pho & Boba place for lunch. I ordered a Butterfly Lemonade with basil seeds and popping boba 🤤 it was so refreshing. ⋆˚✿˖° As many of you know, I like to take a couple of thrifting trips to Goodwill during the week when I have a couple of hours to spare from my two job routine and I feel like I scored big time when I found the whole Percy Jackson series! Trochę żałuję, że nie sięgnęłam po nią w swoich nastoletnich latach, bo pewnie bardziej bym ją doceniła. Książka z pewnością wyróżnia się swoją forma, ponieważ jest pisana jak pamiętnik, list, dziennik, przez które wchodzimy do życia głównego bohatera. Przede wszystkim wchodzimy do jego głowy i poznajemy jego myśli, rozterki czy opowieści z życia rodzinnego. Zaczyna się od mocnego fragmentu, wspomnieniach o sam0bójstwie chłopaka imieniem Michael, by w kolejnych listach poruszać tematykę m0lestowania, przem0cy i ukrywania własnej tożsamości. Od sierpnia 1991 roku brnęłam przez kolejne dni, tygodnie, lata, by na nowo poznawać tych bohaterów. Niekiedy ich problemy zaprzątały moje myśli, nie mogłam się od nich odsunąć, oderwać. Czasami nawet stawiałam siebie w ich sytuacjach i myślałam "a co by było gdyby...". Niektóre sprawy były dla mnie nietypowe, a nawet zbyt szokujące bym mogła je zrozumieć, ale nie poddawałam się. Czytałam te listy do samego końca. Słuchałam również muzyki, a musisz wiedzieć, że Charlie zna kilka fajnych kawałków. Nie obeszło się też bez wzruszeń czy śmiechu. Ta pomarańczowa książka dostarczyła mi mnóstwa emocji, rozrywki też, ale w mniejszym stopniu. Tutaj przede wszystkim chodzi o dojrzewanie, o sam proces poznawania siebie, swojego ciała, swoich potrzeb. To próba zrozumienia swojego serca i poukładania myśli w głowie.
