The last time I had to go without eating or drinking after midnight, I wasn't fed breakfast. This time, they fed me and took an image. Then I will be having images taken every hour 3 more times to see how quickly it moves through my system. Since it's taking me long to process the radioactive scramble eggs that I had to eat to do the testing. The test is gastric emptying test. I'm done! So apparently my stomach emptied in a normal time and I'm not quite sure what that means. Not gastroparesis? Set my alarm for 430am so I can take my meds before my #gastricemptyingtest at 830 this morning. My intention was to take them and go back to sleep for a couple of hours but Nope, obviously not happening lol. It's weird though that the less sleep I have the better my body feels in the morning. I guess my body doesn't like being in the same position for any length of time. I've noticed this before, I van get downstairs much more easily if I didnt get a good night's sleep. I feel like crap later in the day and I can't seem to nap because of my cipralex. I miss the ability to nap because some days I'm just so exhausted and all I can do is rest. I've found doing some different meditations can leave me feel rested so that's what I rely on when I'm feeling really tired and overwhelmed. Anyway I'm rambling because well I am lol. So I'll just wait and see how this test goes this morning. It’s been a minute since I posted but it’s almost the spookiest day of the year which means it’s perfect timing to talk about my spooky diagnosis. /// I just got diagnosed with gastroparesis, a rare, chronic illness with no cure and limited treatment options. You know that feeling when you eat too much candy on Halloween? That’s how I feel every time I eat, even when I just drink a bottle of water. Don’t have a plan or half a clue what to do, but I finally have answers and know I’m not crazy. I’m learning as I go, and I’m working on finding good in every day—even the extra hard ones.
This sweet boy was a champion today! He had a five hour gastric emptying test, and he rocked it! He had to eat these radioactive eggs (he did so with a couple of bribes) and then had to lay still for an hour while every five seconds a picture was taken. Then we waited an hour and he got another picture taken over the span of a minute. He rocked it and was so still and patient. Super proud of him! Thank you to our very special Miss Rachel for going on a road trip with us, and keeping us company. You are truly a second Mama bear to our sweet boy and we adore you for it more than you know! Quick Health Update: Haven't been doing too good. I got SERIOUS perfume exposure at my CT scan yesterday. It resulted in: ~Migraine ~Vomiting yesterday and today ~2 Asthma attacks in less than 24 hours Got a message from my PCP: That everything was normal on the scan, but no mention of the clips. PCP hopes I get more info from an Endoscopy. I won't go into details right now, but I am having an issue with not be able to see a GI Doc right now. This doesn't explain the pain at all! I'm VERY frustrated and exhausted. I have to be at the Hospital tomorrow early for my next test: Gastric Emptying. So, still fighting! Appointment yesterday went...interestingly I guess. Found out the results of my endoscopy and other stuff they did in the hospital. Turned out I have chronic mild/moderate acid reflux (that explains why everything I eat tastes like acid I just thought that was normal?) and when I was in the hospital I guess I was having esophageal spasms and I have something that makes that happen a lot? I forget the exact name of it right now. Good Thursday morning! Was supposed to go to the hospital today for the Gastric Emptying test but they found out my primary insurance requires a pre-auth. Ugh. 😕 So if I'm lucky it may happen on Saturday if not it'll be next week (pending the day as I'm leaving to Denver again) So worst case scenario will be in two weeks. I'm so miserable. I'm hungry yet I feel full though I haven't ate. My abdomen is tender when pressed around with bout of nausea. So anyway, couple errands to do in town then back home to this handsome guy, Jericho ❤ And I'll update with another picture of him probably 😊
For a good while now some may or may not remember my previous PCP had up and left with no given warning. Many of us left with such surprise I'm not sure what the others obviously did. I began searching for a new PCP. I had been rejected by a fairly large practice of doctors who apparently couldn't take me because none of them felt that they could... So onwards I filled out another new patient app to another office. Less than 2 weeks later I was approved and Yesterday I saw my new potential PCP. I had been praying on it and praying. Hoping and hoping the appointment would go over and beyond my expectations. That somehow a miracle would take place. Well; I can say I truly hit the jackpot I believe. Course it's mentioned I have a complicated history. But she understood surgery wise when she saw I was diagnosed with the #ehlersdanlossyndrome and also having the #pseudotumorcerebri even though she was extremely surprised by that diagnosis because I'm not in the obese spectrum. Course that was nice to hear for once!!! 👍So anyway she's #1 concerned with my heart and syncope episodes. So I was referred to a #Cardiologist which on Tuesday I'll be seeing one. I'll also see a #neurologist that she referred me to but didn't get a call on today. Lastly, I'll #FINALLY get a #gastricemptyingtest Gastric Emptying test to hopefully find answers to this long on going #gastrointestinal issues. She also suspects #gastroparesis and if so I sure as hell hope treatment or what will be needed will happen. Oh and as far as pain management goes I'm on a trial of #mobic or also known as #metacam .
