"Being a kind person also means being kind to yourself." - A quote I came across the other day. 🙊And it hit me...Here we go confession time... 🦄I'm usually a kind and understanding person when it comes to others. I am genuinely empathetic and don't judge too fast. (Most of the time anyway.) If you know me, you probably agree. 🦖But holly shit often I am so critical, unfair, angry and disappointed with myself. Lack total empathy about me. If it was another person struggling, I could be there no problem. 😶When I feel an emotion I shouldnt, I often try to tell myself to stop feeling it - immediately. 😡When I'm angry, I try to convince myself why I shouldnt be and just let it go. 😢When I'm hurt, I find a way to excuse the other person and act like it's not a big deal for me. I can handle it. 😞When I mess something up, I'm sure I'm the worst person in the world and must be a loser. No, not nice...I know. 🧘🏼♀️I mastered every possible meditation and energy exercise to eliminat, destroy or let go of my pain or change the emotions. Thank god often it really works! ⏳But some things creep back or take time to let go of. Today I realised, I can also just allow it to be there. 👹The feeling to exist. Not try to deny it, let it go or destroy it. Accept that I'm human too and that feels shit sometimes. 💕Show some empathy towards me, when I need it too. And you know what happened? 🤜🏼🤛🏼It came with a big sigh of relief, but I put the weapons down. Im making friends with these feelings, because they will be around for a while. And that is okay. And you know also what happened? 🎈Just by noticing and accepting this, I immediately started to feel much lighter and better.
