Huginn y Muninn. En nórdico antiguo Huginn y Muninn, son dos cuervos de la mitología nórdica que ayudan a los espíritus del dios Odín. El dios omnipotente Odín suele ser representado con un par de cuervos sobre sus hombros. Los cuervos de Odín, conocidos como Hugin y Munin (pronunciados HOO-gin y MOO-nin y también deletreados Huginn y Muninn), eran sus compañeros constantes que volaban por el mundo e informaban de lo que habían visto. Hugin y Munin son los dos cuervos negros más comúnmente asociados con el sabio, pero también con el frenético dios Odín. Sus nombres se traducen aproximadamente del nórdico antiguo como Pensamiento y Memoria (pensamiento intelectual - hugr, y pensamiento emocional, deseo y emoción - muninn). Los dos cuervos se sientan sobre los hombros del dios Odín y le susurran al oído todas las noticias que ven y oyen; se llaman Hugin y Munin. Por la mañana Odín los envía a volar alrededor del mundo y en el desayuno regresan y le cuentan lo que han visto. De este modo, Odín descubre muchas cosas nuevas y por eso se le llama el dios-cuervo. La conexión entre Odín y los cuervos es muy antigua y muy profunda. Ya en los siglos VI y VII d.C., mucho antes del inicio de la Era Vikinga a finales del siglo VIII, las representaciones visuales de Odín en cascos y joyas lo muestran a menudo acompañado de uno o varios cuervos. Odin's Ravens In Norse mythology, Huginn and Muninn are a pair of ravens that fly all over the world, Midgard, and bring information to the god Odin. They are described as being nearly identical with ice blue eyes. The only difference being a red dot on Huginn and a blue dot on Muninn. Challenge accepted. The 3D print files for these ravens were created by the folks over at @stlflix_ . Both were printed using wood PLA. Then, I sanded, stained, and painted them. I almost decided not to make them after reading about the ice blue eyes. Eyes aren't always the easiest things to make, but I'm glad I stuck with it. Couldn't be more pleased with the way these turned out. Now, I just have to figure out where to hang them. In his never-ending quest for wisdom, Odin has made many great sacrifices, including hanging from Yggdrasil while pierced by his spear and willingly giving his eye to Mimir.
