Too Much and Never Enough is a book I’ve been wanting to read ... and not wanting to read. I am NOT a fan of Donald Trump ... at all. So reading a book about him, even a popular book like this, made me cringe a bit. But this book was written by his niece who has a PhD in clinical psychology. Ok, so now I was intrigued. Turns out, I did learn more about the Trump family dynamic but this book wasn’t as groundbreaking as I had hoped. And it’s focus was a bit of a surprise. I already spend too much time consumed by the news of today, but this quick read was intriguing, and I don’t regret the last minute Costco purchase. Like any adult, traits and personalities are formed at a young age, and through family dynamics this book tells the tale of two brothers and the whole family at once consumed with, and pushing away from their father’s controlling grasp. „Zufällig“ bin ich heute über das Buch von Mary L. Trump über ihren Onkel Donald gestolpert, das heute auf deutsch erschienen ist. Es ist mir eigentlich egal, was da drin steht (nun ja, vielleicht werde ich es lesen) und ich bin auch kein Trump Fan, aber auf alle Fälle finde ich es sehr traurig wenn man negativ über ein Familienmitglied schreibt. Überhaupt persönliches öffentlich macht über eine andere Person, wenn sie das nicht weiss oder möchte. Auch wenn die Person noch so schlimm sein mag. Ein Buch sollte niemals eine Abrechnung sein. Ich hätte nie schlecht über meine Eltern (oder andere Personen) geschrieben, auch wenn es sehr vieles gegeben hätte, was nicht gut war. Wenn schon, sollten diese Dinge zumindest vorher auch derjenigen Person gesagt worden sein, um die es geht. Und in jedem Fall Versöhnung angestrebt werden. Denn was ist wichtiger? Von der Welt „geehrt“ zu werden, weil man geheime Informationen teilt, oder von ihr verdankt werden, weil man sie warnt oder rettet? Oder ist es wichtiger, dass man Versöhnung in der Familie anstrebt? Ich glaube, auf dem Sterbebett wird der ganze Ruhm, Ehre, Bekanntheit, ja sogar die Rettung der Welt nicht mehr so relevant sein wie die Versöhnung innerhalb der eigenen Familie.
