This past weekend my husband was doing what he loves; riding with his biker brothers. Sadly on that ride he lost one of his MC brothers and one severely injured. I have to say that in this situation of tragedy my husband couldn't have been with a better group of courageous men. Just as they have done many times serving our country they worked bravely and courageously just as they were trained to do everything they knew to try to save their friends they call brothers that day. Crusader Union MC is so much more than a biker club. They are a true family! Every brother and their families always feel loved, supported and seen. I would never ask my husband to stop doing what he loves because #1 I serve a God who loves him by far more than I ever could #2 he is surrounded by men who will always but their life on the line for him and his family. For when you're stuck and waiting for the blessing... Habakkuk was right where you're at. He was stuck and wondering why God's people are allowed to suffer. He was not afraid to cry out to God, and when God didn't give him a direct answer, Habakkuk's prayer shows us that we can rest in God's sovereignty. Maybe you've thought it's not ok to ask God questions? Maybe you've thought it's not ok to cry out "remember me, Lord?" The Book of Habakkuk shows us it IS ok to do these things, especially when we are thrown into a time of suffering or when it seems our enemies are prospering while we are just barely getting by. It also affirms that God is sovereign and omnipotent, that He has all things under control. We just need to be still and know He is faithful in His work. He is who He says He is; He keeps His promises. He will punish the wicked. Even when we cannot see evidence of His dominion, God is still on the throne of the universe. We need to stay focused on this: "The Sovereign Lord is my strength; he makes my feet like the feet of a deer, he enables me to tread on the heights." (Habakkuk 3:19) And in the midst of the waiting, it's ok to say "Remember Your mercy, oh Lord." These past few weeks have been emotional for me. My sweet Selah is struggling with reading and will have a dyslexia test next month. I have just had so much mom guilt lately, feeling like I didn't do enough for her, or didn't catch it earlier. I have also been feeling like I don't play with them as much as I would like to, and they are growing up so fast! I feel like I need to create opportunities for them to figure out who they are truly supposed to be while guiding them at the same time. I want them to explore the little things of this wonderful world. Tonight, my precious child snuck into my bed as I was downstairs and I find this note she wrote to God 😭 " God I love you, everything you gave me. My best friend @steph.raee and her family are in need of prayers for her daughter Caimbri we got this text this morning from Steph “Hey girls, Caimbri is in the ICU at Radys children hospital San Diego she has pneumonia and a collapsed lung . Her body has been fighting so hard to function and heal but it is a lot for her. She is currently sedated and intubated to try and give her body the rest it needs to focus on healing and not having to work so hard. Along with the pneumonia that they are working to help her body clear she has a few other issues that have started to develop. You guys we are falling apart , there is nothing worse in life I’ll experience then watching our baby girl literally fight to live There is barely a spot on her body that doesn’t have some sort of tube coming out of it 😭 She is fighting with all she has, our little warrior! We truly need a miracle at this point and are believing in nothing less than full restoration and healing in her body head to toe.
