They were to be alone with God, for they were not dealing with the laws of nature, nor human government, nor the church, nor the priesthood, nor even with the great prophet of God, but they must needs be isolated from all creatures, from all leaning circumstances, from all props of human reason, and swung off, as it were, into the vast blue inter-stellar space, hanging on God alone, in touch with the fountain of miracles. Here is a part in the programme of God's dealings, a secret chamber of isolation in prayer and faith which every soul must enter that is very fruitful. There are times and places where God will form a mysterious wall around us, and cut away all props, and all the ordinary ways of doing things, and shut us up to something Divine, which is utterly new and unexpected, something that old circumstances do not fit into, where we do not know just what will happen, where God is cutting the cloth of our lives on a new pattern, where He makes us look to Himself. Most religious people live in a sort of treadmill life, where they can calculate almost everything that will happen, but the souls that God leads out into immediate and special dealings, He shuts in where all they know is that God has hold of them, and is dealing with them, and their expectation is from Him alone. I can relate to Kira in “The Heart’s Shelter” in many ways. She came to Pennsylvania to help her aunt after her former fiance had broken her heart. When I met my husband (many, many years ago) I had recently gotten out of a relationship with a man who had cheated on me. Just like Kira, I had to learn how to trust again. It definitely took time, and for a while I felt like a prisoner of my fears. Prayer helped me learn to trust and have faith in my new boyfriend, who eventually became my husband. TRANSFORMATION 🦋🦅 The work we do on ourselves is what we are truly here for in this life. To learn deep soul lessons that expand us . Expand our capacity to hold and embody light . The journey takes us into deep parts of ourselves , often having to face our own demons and those that have come through our family lines . Not only that but also those that run throughout humanity. But all is not lost , far from it. See though all of these challenges the light and love of God is ever present . I’ve realised this . All the cleansing I have done from addiction , trauma , mental challenges . The light has been shining by and through me the whole time . It does for all of us . But we must meet it with a willingness 🦋 All we can do is our best to be authentic in our work . Even when we are criticised or misunderstood . Our only responsibility is ourselves and doing our best to be in our service of the divine . Holding on to our virtues 🦅 It’s in our authenticity that we develop a true connection to God .
