Result! 🏊♂️🚴♂️🏃♂️ - St Annes Triathlon. 🏅 I didn’t intend to “COMPETE”, merely to “COMPLETE”!!😂 It’s ten years since I did my first triathlon so this was a special event for me. I’ve spared everyone the photo of me in my swimming gear😂 but thanks to Adele for the two action shots👍🏼 I have to thank my “support team” and encouragers for helping me get through this: Sarah Linton & Adele Chapman plus Margaret, Rachel, Lynne, Debbie & Andrea. I’ve also got to thank my running buddy Esther Parkinson who I’ve trained with (running) for the last few years while she’s been training for the Manchester 10k every year. I wouldn’t have signed up for this if Sarah hadn’t have “persuaded” me so that’s an extra thanks❤️ This one was the last St Annes Triathlon (and if someone else organises another triathlon next year, I definitely WON’T be doing it😂) Looking forward to not training at all next week 🙏🏻 Results: 2024 Vs. 2014 Swim 00:15:25 Vs. 00:16:45 Cycle 01:09:29 Vs. 00:55:03 Run 00:33:01 Vs. 00:34:13 My Transition Time was 6 minutes 58 seconds but I don’t know what it was ten years ago. Overall I came in at 180th out of a field of 181! (In 2014 I was 380th out of 409). Slight correction to my official time for the 5k. I started my run tracker before I passed the start line and didn’t finish it when I crossed the finish line like I should have. I took a bow waved to my many fans and got my medal and had cake before turned the bugger off. 😂 my official time was 33min 19 seconds for the delamere 5k. Not bad for someone who doesn’t run. I’ve lived in wales for over 5 years and I have never hiked Pen Y Fan! 🏔️ So today for Abi’s birthday we decided to change that! What an epic day it was. ⛰️ The we did the circular route today. We walked 7.84km, climbed 553m and took over 3hrs 11mins and 56secs! 🏔️ It definitely was a good challenge if you haven’t done it before! Now the circular route has been completed the horseshoe ridge will be next!

It’s been a long time since I’ve posted on this account but there’s been lots going on in the meantime. Not how I wanted to spend a sunny Sunday in May, but celebrating the last tiles going on in the kitchen today, in what’s been a looong job tiling both the kitchen and the utility, with @gordon.s.forbes cutting and me fitting. Just the clean up and grouting to be done now 🙌 I’ve muttered obscenities under my breath almost every step of the way with this task, but it’s enormously satisfying having done it ourselves and we’ve saved a *ton* of money not getting a tiler in. Tiles by @toppstiles simple but very effective. I went to @woburngolfclub for the G4D Open this year after some redemption following last years poor showing. With rounds of 86, 81 & 84, I finished 29 shots better than in 2023, I’d say I got what I was after 😅 I had another great day, even with a cold putter, playing with Kyle (USA) and Mari (Netherlands) was a pleasure. And with @royafrost taking over caddy duties from Rob, all I had to do was swing the clubs and hit the ball. I’m very happy to have finished in the top half of the overall leaderboard and 4th in my class. Hopefully I qualify for the event again next year 🤞🏻 Thanks to @therandagolf & @dpworldtour for putting on a great event with the help of @edga_golf . I got absolutely hammered in the kitchen tonight 😲 the demand for our varied menu was intense 😳 emotional in all honesty. Burritos, burgers, wraps, loaded nachos, curried prawns, saltfish fritters are all cooked to order 😋 all by one person, me. It was the most demanding night I've experienced so far by far. Relentless comes to mind. We managed one munch box which was pre ordered at 7:24am 😲 To have tried to do more would have only damaged our reputation. One week, one motorhome, two absolute idiots, four high points, waterfalls, a river dip, many mountains and lochs and a million bruises. County high points ticked off… 1. Merseyside - Billinge Hill 2. Argyll and Bute - Ben Cruachan 3. Angus - Glas Maol 4. South Lanarkshire - Culter Fell Definitely got the miles in…from one side to the other, stayed on Loch Lomond, visited the Fairy Pools on the Isle of Skye, stopped at Loch Ness on the way to Inverness, walked along Rogie Falls and Corrieshalloch Gorge to the Falls Of Measach. Camped next to the beautiful Achnahaird Beach, watched the sun go down over Eilean Donan castle and saw the colourful sky lights over Loch Lochy. Gonna start saving for a campervan I think.
