While staff shortages are an unavoidable difficulty at the moment, the silver lining is we have loved spending time together across 3 and 4 year old programs in this beautiful autumn weather. Today we had a combined day out of the 3 year old room and in the yard. Many children loved parachute fun with Justine. Timelines are getting really dark. Everyone seems to be falling like dominoes Meds are out of stock, something that is freely available in the atmosphere is now in low supply, so many on contact list are scrambling for beds or cylinders or drugs I am losing count of people, known people, that are falling victim, recovering mostly but there are news snippets of despair that I'm unable to process Every scratch in the throat, even from a sizzle of cumin and red chili in the kitchen feels like the beginning of the rabbit hole of panic We are hunkered down at home trying to keep our noses clean, quite literally, forwarding whatever looks like info to whoever looks like they need it. there are some funnies, but losing the will quickly to forward those Many are drawing flak for posting throwbacks or currents of vacation or cooking or clothes or books or skincare or family or other general good fortune that they appear unscathed as of now But I don't think they are. Many have gone through the hell already, some may yet get it...for how long will they remain untouched...some have gone through other hells. Everyone is in fear of the worst happening to either them or their family and friends. We used to think illnesses and accidents only happen to others and will never happen to us and those close to us but ... And memories and throwbacks, baking, getting out of pjs and blow drying your hair, kids, triumphs at work, plants on your balcony and a cup of coffee may be all that's keeping us going. Sharing your birthday cakes, pets, beaches or sunsets, old restaurant visits and bliss at kids being at real school is as ok as sharing important resources and pleas for help. You do you.
