One of the worse things about being a #jehovahswitness was when you were forced to confuse the โspirit of the lawโ with the โletter of the lawโ. Anything deemed having come before or outside of Judeo-Christianity was labeled โpaganโ which was supposed to be regarded as synonymous with โwickedโ and โdangerousโ. Abiding by obvious insertions of evil where there was none, was a GREAT burden to me in my life. Hey mom, I am so sorry for you-that you chose the legacy of shunning your beautiful family. I cannot wish a happy Motherโs Day to someone who chooses not to be a mother to her only child. That being said, if you ever read this, we are ok. Our relationship has been strained for years-after decades of indoctrination and mind control, you are a shell of the warm mother I used to know, which isnโt entirely your fault. However, your grandchildren donโt realize that. They are sad you chose the evil, evil act of shunning us-but they also have parents and friends who they are learning what true unconditional love and support looks like. 06/05/24 - JW fact of the day Many people are aware of Jehovahs witnesses's strong stance against accepting blood in medical conditions, even if the alternative to taking blood is death, however, did you know that JWs also abstain from any food products that contain a high amount of blood content? This means foods such as Black pudding, Jadoh rice, biroldo sausage and many more are strictly banned from being consumed. Some members may also refuse to have a steak or beef that is cooked too rare. The reasoning behind this is reported by the organisation to be the same as the reason behind refusal to take blood as medical treatment, blood is deemed as "sacred", as seen in the article shown 'is it right to eat blood?'. As an #exjw, I spent most of my life believing all the evils of the world existed outside my religion, and that the leaders of the religion had only good intentions for it's followers. Now I understand they are a shepherd that view their sheep only as a means to an end. They lead what is essentially a high control group that manipulates their followers by way of emotional black mail. This page and my YouTube channel exist because at one point I didn't know how I would make it passed the feelings of rejection faced by those that choose to leave. Through this most difficult obstacle I found not defeat, but the way. I found my purpose. What the leaders do is unforgivable. But do attempt to understand that if you're feeling rejected or crushed by someone or something, it is almost never a good idea to hold a grudge and not forgive. Lifes most meaningful moments and achievements come from these struggles so why harbor resentment? Hold the leaders accountable but forgive your family for they are sheep on the lookout for wolves unaware the shepherds are sharpening their knives. Hands up if you're an empowered woman who no longer carries religious shame or guilt around expressing yourself and being confident with your body! ๐๐ปโโ๏ธ โข I borrowed this swimsuit from my beautiful friend Amanda and there used to be a time where I wouldn't be caught dead wearing something like this. I would have covered more, be hyper self-conscious of how I looked or was perceived by others and would anxiously live in anticipation of someone being "stumbled" by me. ๐ โข But now? I can wear clothes like this and not feel ashamed of the vessel I was born in. I can confidently walk around in public with low-cut tops and love my body the way it is without the guilt whispering in my ear telling me I'm a bad Christian. ๐ โข In recent events, I've left the Jehovah's Witness religion by choice. For those who don't know, there are 2 ways to exit the religion and both end up the same way with the reality of shunning and starting life all over again: โข 1) "Fade" - disappear completely and stop attending all religious functions but watch as your supposed friends also fade out of your life and label you as a "bad influence". The catch is you'll be considered "inactive" and by extension, technically still a JW. โข 2) Write a disassociation letter - write a letter to the elders of your congregation to inform them that you no longer identify as a JW where they will announce your decision at the next meeting with the rest of the congregation. โข I chose pathway 2 and for good reason. I needed closure. I needed to fully severe the tie to something that no longer serves in any capacity. And I'm finally free from the chains that held me down from living my best life. ๐ โข Day by day, I choose me. I choose what makes me happy and I'll never look back. At least 10 JWs I knew back in South Dakota have shown up in my suggested friends, so they must be gossiping, being nosy, and checking out my page. It's very typical of them to spread false rumors and tear people down behind their backs when they aren't there to defend themselves. I will say to whoever from my former life who is watching--I'm doing great and better than I've ever been! I've found kindness and true unconditional love from "worldly" people, much more so than how I was treated in the religion. The world isn't this horrible, scary place that's out to get us like we were taught. There are people who will love you for who you are and not just because you share religious beliefs and behave a certain way. I know I'm an Apostate, so my words often fall on deaf ears because you believe that Satan is using me to draw you away from true worship, but I can assure you that if you do unbiased research away from your own website, you will find shocking information about what you're involved in. If any of my loved ones wake up someday, I will be here to welcome you with open arms. I no longer hold resentment for being shunned, as painful and devastating as it is, because I realize that you're just doing what you're told and made to think is right. You wouldn't choose not to be in my life if you had a choice of your own. I just hope you escape one day and can experience true happiness, because I know that religion isn't it no matter how much the organization tries to convince you otherwise.
