Parva Farm Vineyard wines are BACK IN STOCK! 🍾 It's been a while since we've had any of Judith and Colin's wines from their gorgeous vineyard in Tintern. We used to periodically visit and fill the boot with bottles as well as sometimes flowers and on one occasion, courgettes! An organic, biodynamic and vegan white made from 100% Grillo grapes 🍇 Lovely aromas of citrus blossom, sage and white stone fruit. Medium-bodied with notes of peach, apple and tropical hints of dried pineapple. Perfectly balanced with a refreshing citrus acidity 🍍🍋🍑🍎 Great with creamy risottos, chicken stuffed with sage and onion or with roast butternut squash and goats cheese. Grillo is a Sicilian variety that's a crossing of Catarratto and Zibibbo and is famous for making Marsala wine (which coincidentally is my dad's favourite wine). The label looks a little like a touristy t-towel but it's actually a depiction of Orlando protecting Paris from siege in the epic poem "Orlando Furioso", which is why the wine is called 'Agramante' as he was also a character in the poem. For the past 15 years Nicola has been specialising in working with grape varieties that are resistant to certain diseases and developed to make as low an impact on the planet as possible. Nicola has created a network, called “ Resistenti Nicola Biasi” @resistentinicolabiasi with around 10 different wineries across 3 regions in the north of Italy with a very definite mission: creating high quality wines matching a real and concrete sustainability. Nicola, who will also be appearing at this years @cardiffwinefestival in June, will be joining us next Thursday 16th of May to taste 5 of his resistant wines accompanied by cheese and charcuterie. Who else likes a Primitivo? Made from biodynamically grown grapes, this organic, vegan red from Puglia, Italy is full-bodied with lots of intense aromas of ripe plum, sweet fig and chocolate. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿 NEW WELSH PET NAT 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿 I'm so pleased to have our first wine from @whinyardrocks on our shelves - the Pet Nat, 2022 🍾 🍇 60% Solaris, 40% Ortega 📍Radnorshire, Powys, Wales 🌿 Vegan 🚫 No Added Sulphur Solaris & Ortega grapes underwent a couple of days skin contact before fermenting together in stainless steel using wild yeasts. The wine was bottled by hand using gravity, without any fining or filtration, just before the end of the primary fermentation. Bottles were then disgorged by hand on a cold spring day. The result is a lightly sparkling wine that's pale amber in colour. Pear drops on the nose lead to fresh stone fruits and a deliciously rich palate. Made with German hybrid varieties, this col fondo has gone through a secondary fermentation in bottle without filtration, giving it a cloudy, subtle spritz. The result is a deliciously aromatic fizz with vibrant notes of elderflower, passionfruit and a subtle yeasty character. The palate is dry with mouth-watering, zesty acidity, more elderflower, a gentle fizz and a toasty finish.
