"War of the Wolf" by Bernard Cornwell is the 11th book in the Saxon Tales series, which follows the story of Uhtred of Bebbanburg. The story is set in 10th-century England, and Uhtred is now older, wiser, more cunning, but occasionally a little careless. He's also grown more superstitious than he was years before. If anything, the Uhtred character is now even more 'seasoned', experienced, worldly-wise, and, perhaps, weary of the world. But Uhtred is still very full of fire, determination, and with an expert, well-honed, innate knowledge of battle-craft. #bookqueens #fiction #booklovers #readingisfun #bookaddict #fictionbooks #novel #storytelling #imagination #getlostinabook #fictionlovers #bookworm #bookrecommendation #fictionsunday #PlotTwist .

#CoffeeAndCurrentlyReading ☕️📖☕️📖☕️📖☕️📖☕️📖☕️📖 📖 PLOT// In My Lady Jane, coauthors Cynthia Hand, Brodi Ashton, and Jodi Meadows have created a one-of-a-kind YA fantasy in the tradition of The Princess Bride, featuring a reluctant king, an even more reluctant queen, a noble steed, and only a passing resemblance to actual history—because sometimes history needs a little help. At sixteen, Lady Jane Grey is about to be married off to a stranger and caught up in a conspiracy to rob her cousin, King Edward, of his throne. But those trifling problems aren’t for Jane to worry about. Jane gets to be Queen of England. Like that could go wrong. ☕️ THOUGHTS// Like 3 or 4 years ago, Lindsay (@smalltownela) sent me a copy of this for my birthday (I think??) and I keep meaning to get to it but then life and I’ve put it off, put it off, put it off. I started it the other night and immediately messaged her to let her know that I finally started it and I was going to keep messaging her as I read it. I’m a few chapters in only because I’ve been reading it during night feeding and pumping sessions so I’m only starting to get to know the characters. I’m curious to see where this entire plot goes and hope that I love it as much as Lindsay does!

#CoffeeAndCurrentlyReading ☕️📖☕️📖☕️📖☕️📖☕️📖☕️📖 📖 PLOT// Mona can name anyone’s soulmate—but she’ll never divine her own. Blessed by the crow god of love, eighteen-year-old Mona Arnett has the power to traverse the watery realm of the gods, speak with its seven deities, and divine soulmate matches with absolute certainty. Though Mona refuses to read her own match, she’s predicted pairings for wealthy nobles seeking amusement and lovesick couples desperate for affirmation. Still, it’s a shock when the king’s closest advisor demands her services. The king is dying without an heir, explains Master Delmar Whitman—and if the royal line ends, the realm’s gods-given nexus will shatter and magic will vanish from the land. Only Mona can name the future queen and prevent the kingdom’s collapse. But according to her reading, Mona is the king’s soulmate. Mona is destined to be queen—a role she doesn’t want and doesn’t believe she deserves. Worse: It’s not the king she thinks about when she’s alone at night. Mona will lie, cheat, or contend with scheming gods if it keeps her off the throne. The only thing she can’t do is face her past. But when a mysterious blackmailer threatens murder, confronting her secrets may be the only way to survive. ☕️ THOUGHTS// COMING OCTOBER 2024 I read this ARC through NetGalley - it’s been a delight to have some time to read advanced reader copies on my Kindle since they are easier to hold and read during snuggles and feedings. I was captivated by the beginning as it jumps right into a character’s death and how that will implicate Mona, the protagonist. There’s magic, a somewhat love triangle, and multiple worlds as well as a touch of spice. It leaves you on a cliffhanger, setting up for book 2 in the series. I enjoyed it and will have to remember to come back for the second one later on!

#CoffeeAndCurrentlyReading ☕️📖☕️📖☕️📖☕️📖☕️📖☕️📖 📖 PLOT// Stevie Rosenstein has never fallen in love. Constantly moving from city to city for her father’s job, she can’t allow herself to grow truly close to someone. The pain of leaving hurts too much.

Until she meets Drew…
And Shane.

Drew and Shane have been best friends through everything. The death of Shane’s dad. The separation of Drew’s parents. No matter what happens, they always have each others’ backs.

But when Stevie moves to town, a simple coin toss alters the course of their year in profound and unexpected ways – a ripple effect that also produces devastating consequences. ☕️ THOUGHTS// I received this as an ARC forever ago, but I’m finally getting around to it 🤦🏼‍♀️ life, amiright? #CoffeeAndCurrentlyReading ☕️📖☕️📖☕️📖☕️📖☕️📖☕️📖 📖 PLOT// On a cold Sunday evening in early 1957, Sarah Dewhurst waited with her father in the parking lot of the Chevron gas station for the dragon he’d hired to help on the farm… Sarah Dewhurst and her father, outcasts in their little town of Frome, Washington, are forced to hire a dragon to work their farm, something only the poorest of the poor ever have to resort to. The dragon, Kazimir, has more to him than meets the eye, though. Sarah can’t help but be curious about him, an animal who supposedly doesn’t have a soul but who is seemingly intent on keeping her safe. Because the dragon knows something she doesn’t. He has arrived at the farm with a prophecy on his mind. A prophecy that involves a deadly assassin, a cult of dragon worshippers, two FBI agents in hot pursuit—and somehow, Sarah Dewhurst herself.  ☕️ THOUGHTS// I’m going into this one without knowing the summary - just trying to fulfill a Popsugar prompt about a book with dragons! I’m four chapters in and pretty intrigued though. Lots of potential for it to be a pretty great read!

BOOK MAIL 💌 I received this maybe a month ago now, but it obviously got put to the back burner with an early delivery and general life chaos. Now sounds like a good time to share! #CoffeeAndCurrentlyReading ☕️📖☕️📖☕️📖☕️📖☕️📖☕️📖 📖 PLOT// Authors June Hayward and Athena Liu were supposed to be twin rising stars. But Athena’s a literary darling. June Hayward is literally nobody. Who wants stories about basic white girls, June thinks. So when June witnesses Athena’s death in a freak accident, she acts on impulse: she steals Athena’s just-finished masterpiece, an experimental novel about the unsung contributions of Chinese laborers during World War I. So what if June edits Athena’s novel and sends it to her agent as her own work? So what if she lets her new publisher rebrand her as Juniper Song—complete with an ambiguously ethnic author photo? Doesn’t this piece of history deserve to be told, whoever the teller? That’s what June claims, and the New York Times bestseller list seems to agree. But June can’t get away from Athena’s shadow, and emerging evidence threatens to bring June’s (stolen) success down around her. As June races to protect her secret, she discovers exactly how far she will go to keep what she thinks she deserves. ☕️ THOUGHTS// My stomach churns reading this. I’m about a quarter thru and I’m just waiting for the dread of what will happen. The amount of effort June goes through to cover up what she’s done - it an only last for so long. I’m intrigued and terrified at the same time.

#CoffeeAndCurrentlyReading ☕️📖☕️📖☕️📖☕️📖☕️📖☕️📖 📖 PLOT// Bryce Quinlan never expected to see a world other than Midgard, but now that she has, all she wants is to get back. Everything she loves is in Midgard: her family, her friends, her mate. Stranded in a strange new world, she’s going to need all her wits about her to get home again. And that’s no easy feat when she has no idea who to trust.

Hunt Athalar has found himself in some deep holes in his life, but this one might be the deepest of all. After a few brief months with everything he ever wanted, he’s in the Asteri’s dungeons again, stripped of his freedom and without a clue as to Bryce’s fate. He’s desperate to help her, but until he can escape the Asteri’s leash, his hands are quite literally tied. ☕️ THOUGHTS// I was thinking about this the other day, but HOSAB came out the last time I was pregnant. I remember neglecting everything for 2 days to tear through the book. 2 years later, pregnant again, I know it’s going to take me some more time to get through HOFAS. But maybe I’ll enjoy it even more going slower or maybe I’ll fall asleep constantly trying to get through 😂 I am up to chapter 13 so no spoilers!

#CoffeeAndCurrentlyReading ☕️📖☕️📖☕️📖☕️📖☕️📖☕️📖 📖 PLOT// Mary Lambert has always felt safe and protected on her beloved island of Martha’s Vineyard. Her great-great-grandfather was an early English settler and the first deaf islander. Now, over a hundred years later, many people there — including Mary — are deaf, and nearly everyone can communicate in sign language. Mary has never felt isolated. She is proud of her lineage. But recent events have delivered winds of change. Mary’s brother died, leaving her family shattered. Tensions over land disputes are mounting between English settlers and the Wampanoag people. And a cunning young scientist has arrived, hoping to discover the origin of the island’s prevalent deafness. His maniacal drive to find answers soon renders Mary a “live specimen” in a cruel experiment. Her struggle to save herself is at the core of this penetrating and poignant novel that probes our perceptions of ability and disability. ☕️ THOUGHTS// I’m not too far in, despite knowing it’s going to be a fast read once I get going. I’ve used this as part of our social issue book clubs, where the focus is on (dis)ability. A student read it this year and said she learned a lot about deaf culture so that was a win!

#CoffeeAndCurrentlyReading ☕️📖☕️📖☕️📖☕️📖☕️📖☕️📖 📖 PLOT// Where are you guys? Text me back. That’s the last message Carver Briggs will ever send his three best friends, Mars, Eli, and Blake. He never thought that it would lead to their death. Now Carver can’t stop blaming himself for the accident and even worse, a powerful judge is pressuring the district attorney to open up a criminal investigation.    Luckily, Carver has some unexpected allies: Eli’s girlfriend, the only person to stand by him at school; Dr. Mendez, his new therapist; and Blake’s grandmother, who asks Carver to spend a “goodbye day” together to share their memories and say a proper farewell.   Soon the other families are asking for their own goodbye day with Carver—but he’s unsure of their motives. Will they all be able to make peace with their losses, or will these goodbye days bring Carver one step closer to a complete breakdown or—even worse—prison? ☕️ THOUGHTS// Yesterday was one of those days where I knew I needed a good cry (thank you, pregnancy hormones) and sure enough, the scene of Blake’s last day between Nana and Carver sent me over the edge into absolute waterworks. This would make an amazing book option for the social issue book clubs in the mental health topic. I’m hopeful for the ending of this book, but I’m afraid of my heart being absolutely ripped open again before the end.

#CoffeeAndCurrentlyReading ☕️📖☕️📖☕️📖☕️📖☕️📖☕️📖 📖 PLOT// Caden Bosch is on a ship that’s headed for the deepest point on Earth: Challenger Deep, the southern part of the Marianas Trench.
Caden Bosch is a brilliant high school student whose friends are starting to notice his odd behavior. Caden Bosch is designated the ship’s artist in residence to document the journey with images.
Caden Bosch pretends to join the school track team but spends his days walking for miles, absorbed by the thoughts in his head. Caden Bosch is split between his allegiance to the captain and the allure of mutiny.
Caden Bosch is torn. ☕️ THOUGHTS// Whoa. I knew a little bit about what I was getting into, especially that this is based off of Neal Shusterman’s son’s experience with mental illness. It’s been a really interesting read, seeing what Caden experiences in his mind versus what he experiences in life. I use this book in my social issue book clubs under the mental health topic and it’s always a hit so I’m glad to finally read it to have better conversations with students about it.

#CoffeeAndCurrentlyReading ☕️📖☕️📖☕️📖☕️📖☕️📖☕️📖 📖 PLOT// Dill isn’t the most popular kid at his rural Tennessee high school. After his father fell from grace in a public scandal that reverberated throughout their small town, Dill became a target. Fortunately, his two fellow misfits and best friends, Travis and Lydia, have his back. But as they begin their senior year, Dill feels the coils of his future tightening around him. His only escapes are music and his secret feelings for Lydia—neither of which he is brave enough to share. Graduation feels more like an ending to Dill than a beginning. But even before then, he must cope with another ending—one that will rock his life to the core. ☕️ THOUGHTS// I’m maybe a third of the way thru so far and I just have a gut feeling that this book is going to break my heart. I don’t know if I’m prepared for that. But we emotional readers will trudge on and experience the rollercoaster that is beautiful YA literature. I also had a student finish this for his social issue book club and has been nagging me to read it for months 😅 so here I am, ready to chat all things Serpent King with him.

BOOK 100 of 2023 🙌🏻 I may be preemptively celebrating, but I *will* finish this book by midnight tomorrow. I set my 100-book goal, not sure what would actually happen. I definitely cut it close, but I did the damn thing despite everything going on. I didn’t finish the PopSugar challenge, but I came pretty close. I’m not sure what I’m going to set my goal as for next year - I’m thinking 100 might be a test of all my willpower to stay off my phone with a newborn and a toddler but maybe I’m just feeling wild enough to give it a go 🤷🏼‍♀️

🎄 DECEMBER TBR 🎄 With only a few short busy weeks until a nice long break, I cannot make up my mind what I want to read. Ultimately, my goal would be to finish the 2023 PopSugar Reading Challenge, but every time I look at what I have left, I’m just not about most of the remaining books at this time. So instead, I’m going to read what I want and meet my 2023 goal of reading 100 books total. I want to go out of this year crushing it, especially since I was short of my goal last year. I really like to complete challenges, but sometimes you just gotta mood read. Anyone else with me, cruising through the rest of the year as a total mood reader? Let’s do this! Tell me what you’re reading in the comments 🖤

Spoiler-free review ahead! Iron Flame by Rebecca Yarros… The controversy of Iron Flame - was it great and engaging? Was it poorly written and rushed? So many thoughts are swirling around, and here’s mine: Conceptually and purely for the story, I love it. I think it has some great bones, and despite some of the critique I will give it, I do want to know what happens next. Yarros does a great job at making you care about the characters. There were so many times where certain characters were in danger, and I thought they would die. The tension made me read faster to see what would happen next. However, one thing I struggle with in books is when they seem to try to serve a trope and force shock value. I felt like there was a lot of that in this novel. Violet, Xaden, even Lilith Sorrengail made decisions that I thought were not genuine to what the character worked so hard for or seemed to motivate them at least from the first novel. Tropes felt forced such as enemies to lovers with all of the arguing. My rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️ This book didn’t have the school’s trials and tribulations to help segment the pacing, and I think that affected the pacing quite a bit. Admittedly, I struggled through the last 100 pages, and the plot twists were lackluster because again, it felt purely written to shock the audience, and because I expected shock value, those twists were very predictable. All that to say, I don’t think people are being fair. I still think Rebecca Yarros is a fantastic writer to be able to churn out a novel of this size in about 6 months or so. She writes compelling characters, the story has a great structure overall, and I do still want to see what happens next, so I will be reading the next book in the series when it comes out! #ironflame #rebeccayarros #fourthwing #bookstagram #bookclub #booktok #bookstagram #bookstagrammar #bookish #bookqueens #violetsorrengail #xadenriorson #lilithsorrengail #booktokbooks #bookreview #bookrecommendations #bookcollab #booklover #bookaddict #bibliophile #bibliophilelife #fantasy #dragons #romantasy #tairn #andarna

#CoffeeAndCurrentlyReading ☕️📖☕️📖☕️📖☕️📖☕️📖☕️📖 📖 PLOT// Born and raised in West Philadelphia, Kareem thought he and his siblings would always be stuck in “The Bottom”, a community and neighborhood devastated by poverty and violence. Riding their bicycles through Philly’s Fairmount Park, Kareem’s brothers discover a barn full of horses. Noticing the brothers’ fascination with her misfit animals, Lezlie Hiner, founder of The Work to Ride stables, offers them their escape: an after school job in exchange for riding lessons.

What starts as an accidental discovery turns into a love for horseback riding that leads the Rossers to discovering their passion for polo. Pursuing the sport with determination and discipline, Kareem earns his place among the typically exclusive players in college, becoming part of the first all-Black national interscholastic polo championship team―all while struggling to keep his family together. ☕️ THOUGHTS// I‘ve only read the prologue so far but I have a feeling that this creative nonfiction is going to blow me away. Nonfiction is hard for me to stay captivated while reading so I was almost fearing November. However, we’re 2/2 of staying interested!

🦃 NOVEMBER TBR 🍂 For the first time, I’m going full in for #NonFictionNovember. I’ve had some heavy hitters on my shelf that have been waiting a long time for me to read them. My goal is to get thru them, though I know that November is going to be tricky with all that is going on. But hey, that’s why we set goals, right? 🤎 It’s Trevor Noah: Born A Crime Adapted for Young Readers by Trevor Noah 💛 An Indigenous Peoples’ History of the United States For Young People by Roxanne Dunbar-Ortiz 🤎 Crossing the Line: A Fearless Team of Brothers and the Sport That Changed Their Lives Forever by Kareem Rosser 💛 Dreamland: The True Tale of America’s Opiate Epidemic by Sam Quinoes

#CoffeeAndCurrentlyReading ☕️📖☕️📖☕️📖☕️📖☕️📖☕️📖 📖 PLOT// “Don’t believe anything they say.” Those were the last words that Annie spoke to Alice before turning her back on their family and vanishing without a trace. Alice spent four years waiting and wondering when the impossibly glamorous sister she idolized would return to her—and what their Hollywood-insider parents had done to drive her away. When Annie does turn up, the blond, broken stranger lying in a coma has no answers for her. But Alice isn’t a kid anymore, and this time she won’t let anything stand between her and the truth, no matter how ugly. The search for those who beat Annie and left her for dead leads Alice into a treacherous world of tough-talking private eyes, psychopathic movie stars, and troubled starlets—and onto the trail of a young runaway who is the sole witness to an unspeakable crime. What this girl knows could shut down a criminal syndicate and put Annie’s attacker behind bars—if Alice can find her first. And she isn’t the only one looking? ☕️ THOUGHTS// I started this at school and it immediately hooked me. I’m not super far but it’s a really easy read and full of puzzles. It’s very classic film noir, which I wasn’t sure how much I’d like, but it’s been a delight so far!

This book was, hands down, amazing . The spice was a good 4/5, but the lovestory now that was 5/5 This book, for me, felt like an adult version of a thousand boy kisses 😭🥺🥹 and I cried so hard . This book touches on a very sensitive topic and disease for a lot of families in America that deal with this daily. Alzheimer's is a disease where you slowly lose. Every memory of every person you've ever loved in your life. Sometimes, you might be able to hold onto one memory or 2 of 1 or 2 people. But reading this and knowing what my family went through. I might have been young but I know what I have been told and I remembered what I saw. This disease will break families and break people. This book touches on the topic so much. I wish more books would talk about topics like this as well.. There was the smut that we all love to read . And the enemies to lovers, the entire storyline was very well written, and I absolutely love this book. I am putting it as one of my top 5 books of 2023.. Young biker nurse, 2 hot biker roommates ♥️ #booktok #bookgram #bikertok #bikerbook #nursebook #booklove #bookgirl #bookclub #bookqueens #bookromance #bookoninstgram

#CoffeeAndCurrentlyReading ☕️📖☕️📖☕️📖☕️📖☕️📖☕️📖 📖 PLOT// Courtney Cooper and Jupiter Charity-Sanchez (Coop and Jupe!) have been next-door neighbors and best friends since they were seven years old. She's his partner in crime and other half. But lately, Coop can't ignore the fact that he might want something more than friendship from Jupiter. When Rae Chin moves to town, she can't believe how lucky she is to find Coop and Jupe. Being the new kid is usually synonymous with "pariah," but around these two, she finally feels like she belongs. She's so grateful she wants to kiss him . . . and her. Jupiter has always liked girls. But when Coop starts daing Rae, Jupe realizes that the only girl she ever really imagined by his side was her. One story. Three sides. No easy answers. ☕️ THOUGHTS// I love Nic Stone, but honestly, I’m not sure how I feel about this one yet. I know it was a really meaningful book to her and I appreciate the story, but I’m not fully in it yet. It is a quick read - I’m about a third thru already and I think I started on Thursday. We will see where this read takes me!

#CoffeeAndCurrentlyReading ☕️📖☕️📖☕️📖☕️📖☕️📖☕️📖 📖 PLOT// When Abby signs up for a DNA service, it’s mainly to give her friend and secret love interest, Leo, a nudge. After all, she knows who she is already: Avid photographer. Injury-prone tree climber. Best friend to Leo and Connie…although ever since the B.E.I. (Big Embarrassing Incident) with Leo, things have been awkward on that front.

But she didn’t know she’s a younger sister.

When the DNA service reveals Abby has a secret sister, shimmery-haired Instagram star Savannah Tully, it’s hard to believe they’re from the same planet, never mind the same parents ― especially considering Savannah, queen of green smoothies, is only a year and a half older than Abby herself.

The logical course of action? Meet up at summer camp (obviously) and figure out why Abby’s parents gave Savvy up for adoption. But there are complications: Savvy is a rigid rule-follower and total narc. Leo is the camp’s co-chef, putting Abby's growing feelings for him on blast. And her parents have a secret that threatens to unravel everything.

But part of life is showing up, leaning in, and learning to fit all your awkward pieces together. Because sometimes, the hardest things can also be the best ones. ☕️ THOUGHTS// The day I started it, I read about 130 pages. I flew through, but then had some things come up. It’s teen drama and I have some theories on why Savvy was a secret but nothing has been confirmed yet. I’m enjoying it more than my other recent reads but it’s not a 5-star blow me away. I’ll most likely finish it by tomorrow so count this as my last book of July!

#CoffeeAndCurrentlyReading ☕️📖☕️📖☕️📖☕️📖☕️📖☕️📖 📖 PLOT// Worried about potty training? Let Jamie Glowacki, potty-training expert, show you how it’s done. Her 6-step, proven process to get your toddler out of diapers and onto the toilet has already worked for tens of thousands of kids and their parents. Here’s the good news: your child is probably ready to be potty trained EARLIER than you think (ideally, between 20–30 months), and it can be done FASTER than you expect (most kids get the basics in a few days—but Jamie’s got you covered even if it takes a little longer). If you’ve ever said to yourself: ** How do I know if my kid is ready? ** Why won’t my child poop in the potty? ** How do I avoid “potty power struggles”? ** How can I get their daycare provider on board? ** My kid was doing so well—why is he regressing? ** And what about nighttime?! Oh Crap! Potty Training can solve all of these (and other) common issues. This isn’t theory, you’re not bribing with candy, and there are no gimmicks. This is real-world, from-the-trenches potty training information—all the questions and all the ANSWERS you need to do it once and be done with diapers for good. ☕️ THOUGHTS// On two separate occasions, Siobhan has sat on her training toilets, in her diaper, and pooped. I took that as a sign that we’re getting ready to potty training. She’s still a little young but I need to know what I’m getting myself into. I got a copy of the book for $2 on PangoBooks and I’ve been reading it when I have a chance to see how I can prepare for this developmental experience that we’re quickly approaching.

#CoffeeAndCurrentlyReading ☕️📖☕️📖☕️📖☕️📖☕️📖☕️📖 📖 PLOT// On a bitter-cold day, in the December of his junior year at Harvard, Sam Masur exits a subway car and sees, amid the hordes of people waiting on the platform, Sadie Green. He calls her name. For a moment, she pretends she hasn’t heard him, but then, she turns, and a game begins: a legendary collaboration that will launch them to stardom. These friends, intimates since childhood, borrow money, beg favors, and, before even graduating college, they have created their first blockbuster, Ichigo. Overnight, the world is theirs. Not even twenty-five years old, Sam and Sadie are brilliant, successful, and rich, but these qualities won’t protect them from their own creative ambitions or the betrayals of their hearts. ☕️ THOUGHTS// I can’t even remember the last time that I did a buddy read, but I’m super stoked to read this alongside Lindsay @smalltownela and Amanda @atv_reads! I haven’t started it yet (even though I swore I would yesterday 🤦🏼‍♀️), but I definitely will make some time for it today! I’m going in without knowing anything about it, except that it was one of Samantha’s @samanthainsecondary favorite reads 🖤

#CoffeeAndCurrentlyReading ☕️📖☕️📖☕️📖☕️📖☕️📖☕️📖 📖 PLOT// For Mike Muñoz, life has been a whole lot of waiting for something to happen. Not too many years out of high school and still doing menial work--and just fired from his latest gig as a lawn boy on a landscaping crew--he’s smart enough to know that he’s got to be the one to shake things up if he’s ever going to change his life. But how? He’s not qualified for much of anything. He has no particular talents, although he is stellar at handling a lawn mower and wielding clipping shears. But now that career seems to be behind him. So what’s next for Mike Muñoz? ☕️ THOUGHTS// You know I love a good banned book so here we are, gearing up to share a new one during banned books week. It also feels like a good summer reading with the whole lawn mowing gig going on. I know little about it so I hope it’s a good book, but y’all will have to let me know if you’ve read it already!

☀️JULY TBR 🍉 I always look forward to summer and think that I’m going to crush so many reading goals….but then I get caught up doing all the house projects that I’ve put off for the last 10 months. Honestly, I read more during the school year since I read with my students during reading sprints. Realistic goals for the month include: ❤️ Lawn Boy by Jonathan Evison 🤍 The Cruel Prince by Holly Black 💙 You Have A Match by Emma Lord

#CoffeeAndCurrentlyReading ☕️📖☕️📖☕️📖☕️📖☕️📖☕️📖 📖 PLOT// A tale of gods, kings, immortal fame, and the human heart, The Song of Achilles is a dazzling literary feat that brilliantly reimagines Homer’s enduring masterwork, The Iliad. An action-packed adventure, an epic love story, a marvelously conceived and executed page-turner, Miller’s monumental debut novel has already earned resounding acclaim from some of contemporary fiction’s brightest lights—and fans of Mary Renault, Bernard Cornwell, Steven Pressfield, and Colleen McCullough’s Masters of Rome series will delight in this unforgettable journey back to ancient Greece in the Age of Heroes. ☕️ THOUGHTS// I’m nearly done, less than a quarter left. I like it, but I don’t LOVE it, like I’ve seen so many friends love it. I had so many amazing reads in May, books I absolutely cherished, that I feel like nothing is gripping me right now. Maybe the next read will be better for me.
