Thinking about the infinitely large or the infinitely small through simple elements is one of the challenges posed by artist Suzana Queiroga, in her fourth solo exhibition in Portugal and her first in Lisbon, curated by João Silvério, on show from 8 May until 1 June at Galeria Bessa Pereira, Lisbon. In the exhibition “O Infinito na caixa” Queiroga dedicates herself mainly to oil painting as it is a process in which the artist seeks to add an extended notion of time that is built up by successive actions with the paint, in which, as the artist herself writes: “Painting is the sum of decisive moments...We find it difficult to deal with the idea of the Infinite, as it will always be larger or smaller than our ability to imagine it. SAVE THE DATE “O infinito na caixa” Suzana Queiroga’s solo show Is it possible to map infinity through painting? Thinking about the infinitely large or the infinitely small through simple elements is one of the challenges posed by artist Suzana Queiroga, in her fourth solo exhibition in Portugal and her first in Lisbon, curated by João Silvério, on show from 8 May until 1 June at Galeria Bessa Pereira, Lisbon. In the exhibition “O Infinito na caixa” Queiroga dedicates herself mainly to oil painting as it is a process in which the artist seeks to add an extended notion of time that is built up by successive actions with the paint, in which, as the artist herself writes: “Painting is the sum of decisive moments...We find it difficult to deal with the idea of the Infinite, as it will always be larger or smaller than our ability to imagine it. He is a great lover of music and art and mainly collects photography. Milan: “I always approach an artwork or exhibition from the heart. I like to see what a work does to me emotionally. If I feel something, I can make an initial connection with it and open my heart. I’m also intrigued when it evokes an unpleasant emotion, this gives entry for research and self-reflection. It can also be the case that I don’t feel anything at all: this is both difficult and interesting, because I consider art to be an important entry point to our feelings.
