I don’t know a lot. I do feel like I know that slowing down and implementing meditation changed my life. I learned this practice before any other practice. I learned it on my own by utilizing what was available in front of me. Books. What I learned I put into a practice. A new healthier habit in the place of continuing the habit of being busy and disconnected from myself. It was basically free. I learned how to trust myself. I watched myself become a magnet for more mystical experiences that heightened my awareness and clarity. Making life much more enjoyable and exciting. I do not feel like I needed any of these other modalities but I did choose them because I craved more from life and myself. During my meditation practices I do recall being mindful about creating more mystical, delightful and ecstatic experiences. They just keep coming! With that, I have concluding that meditation is where it’s at! I don’t have to pay thousands of dollars for more unless I choose to. I love the clarity that meditation brings to my life. I’ve learned that taking anything too seriously removes the beauty of these mystical experiences. It’s a hard truth… the spirit of the human is intricately linked with the body and mind. I thought it so strange that all my life religion never seemed to touch on the physical body other than making you fear it in certain ways. While the church seemed to advocate against drugs and alcohol as well as being mindful of what you consume in the forms of entertainment, rarely did they touch on the significance of the actual food we put into our bodies… our temples. . Eastern spiritual practices and religions seem to put a greater emphasis on the depth of what taking care of this physical body does for our connection to God. To be fair- as in the west, many religions in general that do emphasize what to eat or not to eat, have created habitual followings without much thought to the why or consciousness behind it. . Do you remember what being hung over felt like? How about the beating yourself up after a weekend of gorging on processed, health-defying foods? Contrarily, have you gone through periods of time of mindful eating, cleansing/ detoxing, eating only high-vibrational, living foods. How did you feel after. . If these bodies are loaded down with man made chemicals, pesticides, fake, frankenfoods, fats, sugars, and alcohol we will find ourselves feeling sluggish, exhausted, foggy, unmotivated, and usually upset with ourselves. It is really difficult to work on spiritual health when the temple that contains the spirit of us is in a dilapidated, toxic state. . A journey through Holy Week. ✝️ While all the other girls dreamed of being Wonder Woman or Jamie the bionic woman, I was out there fascinated by the story of Mary Magdalene. Don’t get me wrong…I thought those other icons were very cool. But Fearless and Faithful, Mary put her entire life in harms way and then in Jesus after he cast out her demons. To me she was the ultimate bad_ _s….and she was REAL! Jesus loved her as is. That’s all we really want isn’t it? To be loved, flaws and all. 💪 Today I can say …I’ve been there. Demons of addiction, demons of making really bad choices that didn’t hurt just me. And demons too ugly to speak of in detail here. 🤦🏻♀️ Walking with Christ in this world has NEVER been easy. Today is no different and no doubt there might be judgement and snickering around this kind of post. That’s ok. 😇 In the midst of this strained and difficult time, I want to be who I’ve always been…a woman providing inspiration from the heart, A faithful kid who has always believed God is good, and a fearless modern day disciple of His love, mercy and grace.
