Baby time! This is Harlow. She is 4 months old, and she is soooo smiley, and very photogenic! We typically see babies at 2, 4, and 6 months old initially, and I enjoy the 4 month visits because babies haven't quite learned to recognize "strange" yet. By 6 months they know that I am not mom or dad, and often they are not impressed, so I always check six-month-olds on mom or dad's lap. At four months, however, I can hold and check them with impunity! Harlow is no exception. She was just fine with me holding her and my basking in her unconditional acceptance! An added bonus: Harlow is going to the health unit for her shots, so no tears today! Today we learned something new about Hudson.... He is a "Breath Holder!" What does that mean? Well, when he got his vaccine injection, as he started to cry, he held his breath for a long time and almost passed out. Usually, I blow on him immediately, but I couldn't get my mask off fast enough. I was ripping at it and almost ripped my earrings out of my ears in the process. I couldn't get it off fast enough to blow on his face and get him to take a big breath. He had probably only held his breath for about 10 seconds, but that was long enough for him to become limp in my arms, turn sheet white, look completely dazed, and have his eyes start to roll back to pass out. Luckily he didn't lose consciousness. Scared mommy and daddy real good🥺 The doctor had us stay for about 20 minutes and nurse him. He then checked his vitals and everything looked good. He was sound asleep and his color was slowly coming back. What a terrible experience for all of us! He now has "breath holder" notated on his chart and we will be ready to blow on his face and flick his feet immediately with future vaccines. Our poor little nugget! I really hope he doesn't do this when he's upset or gets hurt. Hopefully it was a one-time ordeal. Otherwise, he's looking amazing!!! Growth is perfect! A chunky 14lbs, 5oz and bumped up from the 8th percentile to the 25th percentile in weight! Yay! Booby milk is badass!!!🙌 He's definitely got some brains, as his head is in the 67th percentile🤣 Explains his advanced learning! Lol. The doctor said he's definitely ahead of the game! Yay Hudson!!! Going to the Dr. in the middle of a Pandemic can bring some anxiety. Prior to this appointment I hadn’t really thought about how Kamryn would react to being around people since it’s been a few months. My girl was sooooo nervous and she clung to me tightly the entire time. I could tell she was visibly nervous being out in public and around strangers. I tried to keep her comforted and let her know she was safe. This smile you see was about an hour AFTER we had been there. She finally relaxed a little while waiting to see her new Doctor. We had a great experience at our new office. Yep even during a Pandemic. The Staff helped us feel cared for and got us taken care of quickly during Kamryn’s 15 month well baby check up! She had an amazing report and is now up to date on her shots!! So proud of growing girl! P.S. If you do have to go to the Doctor/Dentist during this time. Try to stay calm, wear your mask and sanitize you’re hands. Also extend grace to your Healthcare Workers 😊

Today Oaks had the last of his doctor appointments for awhile. The last 7 weeks have been full of appointments for his weight, tongue and lip ties, circumcision, and nursing issues. And that’s all for a HEALTHY baby. This season has made my heart ache for the moms and dads with kiddos who are sick, battling disease, or injured. It’s made me so grateful for 3 healthy kids, and has been a good reminder that you just don’t know what others may be struggling with - everyone has a story. When I get frustrated or overwhelmed with all the appointments and the struggles we’ve had, I remind myself to be grateful that we are healthy and others are struggling with much bigger and more serious issues. This isn’t to lessen my hard things, but to keep things in perspective. So today, I’m thankful for my hard things, that we don’t have another appointment for awhile, and for my healthy babies. Today we had Kennedy’s one year well baby check. She got 5 shots and actually did as well as she could. The doctor said she is very healthy and petite for her age and height. She is currently 15.08lbs and 29inches long. Her head seems to be growing well and she thinks she is going to be walking very soon. She also talked a lot about Kennedy’s eating and learning and says she seems very smart and can already tell she will have quite the personality lol. We are so thankful to hear that she is healthy and although tiny at this point we don’t have much to worry about!! *Side note* this is a picture of Kennedy in her first bounce house at her party lol.
