As part of the ongoing plan to revise and pare down the Sunday’s Company catalogue of products, all Aromatherapy Sprays are on sale. For use as body, room or linen sprays. When I created this collection, in 2021, I wanted it to be more than a random blend of scents that would appeal to the masses. I needed it to be special, meaningful, and I wanted the user to connect with these scents the way I do. Each one came to me slowly, and at different times throughout that year, but I noticed a pattern emerging. Each scent was inspired by landscapes and phenomena that had left an imprint on my heart. Each one created while imagining myself in that space, and allowing my intuition to interpret the aroma that takes me back to that moment in time. So many of you had your favourite, go-to scent. I loved seeing how you connected with each one in your own way. My favourite has always been Desert Echo. If you visit the online shop, you’ll be able to read the inspiration for each scent. 今朝摘みのガーデンフラワー少しづつ、花遊びの楽しい季節になってきました昨日は、ショッキングな日でした柵のそばに挟まって動けなくなったお母さん羊No12が、動けないのを幸いと、カラスに攻撃され、生きたままお腹を食べられ大きな穴が開き大出血、挙句に弱ったところで光るものが好きな習性から目を突かれて、両目から血の涙が… どういうわけか、キツネもウロウロしていて、ワイルドライフの厳しさを見た日でした今は親子でファーマーさんが引き取って看病中ファーマーの奥さんに、羊は生への執着がとても薄い生き物だから、怪我や病気をするとすぐにギブアップしちゃうから、どうなるかしらって仰ってて、なんだか複雑な気持ちになってしまいました… 良くなりますように

Soggy-slippered I braved the wet morning grass, bid a good morning to the questing vole, and knelt down to capture the geraniums, only to find they’d turned their backs on me and away from the recently risen sun of which, to be fair, there was precious little evidence. One of those skies where the light seems to come from all around, a cool, even, greyish white, with none of those gold and slanting rays that splash their enchantment across every scene. At which point a small, furry bumblebee arrived and, hovering, posed most obligingly, and the sun was forgiven for hiding behind the clouds, and the rain-soaked sward for soaking my slippers. A good day to be alive. Geranium phaeum 'Samobor' here, aka dusky cranesbill, the mourning widow, introduced from Croatia by plantsperson Elisabeth Strangman to her wonderful Washfield Nursery not far from me in Kent, which sadly I never got to visit before the doors closed in 1999. This all still feels like a dream. It has been a whirlwind of emotions the past couple of months. From losing houses and then being led to this amazing piece of land and beautiful farmhouse. There is something quite amazing about the vibrant pop of green in an English woodland in May. We even found a little fairy - swipe to see and sound up for the woodland birdsong 🎶 The woods are alive with activity. I always find a walk in a woodland very soothing and uplifting. Maybe it is like being hugged by a tree with the canopy overhead? There were lots of trees hugging each other and holding each other up on our walk today too which I thought was rather lovely.. @eliza.bell_ is walking 3km a day to raise money for breast cancer research in May. I’m super impressed by her dedication and it is a great thing to do as it gives her a break from GCSE revision every day. Plus we are getting to go on all sorts of walks. A big, frothy, floral thank you to everyone who commented on my post yesterday. It wasn’t an easy thing to talk about for the first time, and I’m so grateful to everyone who took the time to offer encouragement and support, it means so much. Thank you also to everyone who got in touch via DM, I hope I’ve got back to everyone who had questions about cPTSD and diagnosis, and also to friends who didn’t know previously but called last night to say hi. You are the best 🫶🏼 Unsurprisingly, I spent a lot of the day catching my breath and decompressing and went out into the garden in search of some flowers to add to the peonies I bought at @greenandgorgeousflowers over the weekend (ours aren’t quite ready yet). Last week, only the Mme Alfred Carrière roses on the side of the house had come out, but yesterday there were Emily Brontë, Tottering-by-Gently, Rosa Glauca, and many others to add to the mix. Almost all the irises are in flower, some badly in need of dividing after a couple of years of inaction on my part, I have so many I almost don’t know what to do with them, but they make the garden a more welcoming space and I love them so much. The ducks followed me as I snipped my flowers, they seem to sit in wait for the back door to open and come running over to see what I’m doing, always interested and wanted to be close by. And then I put this arrangement together as I thought about how lucky I am, if not with the cPTSD itself, then with my friends and family and all the lovely people on Instagram who yesterday made a scary thing a lot less scary. And how grateful I am for our little patch here. Hoping now I’ve come clean, so to speak, that I can create positive and perhaps even helpful content and keep this going. Ducks as therapy must surely be a good start? Xx

▫️ #впиласьзанозой …в сердце моё новая версия перевода 😁 Вообще, я закончила на праздниках замечательную книгу, о которой жажду поведать миру, потому как чувствую некоторую ответственность, найдя жемчужину, поделиться ею с другими. Но сейчас не о ней, а о том, что выбесило меня на сон грядущий (публикация в автопостинге). Когда мне было 20 с небольшим, я безумно фанатела от книг Мураками (того, который Харуки). Оказавшись тогда в непростой для себя ситуации, я впала в мало чем обоснованную уверенность, что никто не понимает, что со мной происходит. А вот этот странный писатель каким-то непостижимым образом понимает, поэтому нам надо держаться вместе. Много лет и много прочитанных книг спустя я поняла, что есть литература на порядок выше, но память о том периоде придерживает в моём сердце и сейчас уголок для писателя. А ещё калибрует, что из прочитанного у него (а я прочитала 90% всего, что есть) выдаётся из всей библиографии. Для меня это книги из «Трилогии крысы» (забавно, но в ней 4 романа), «Норвежский лес», «К югу от границы, на запад от солнца» и «Кафка на пляже», который ушёл от меня к кому-то в гости и больше не вернулся 🥹 Я погоревала, заметив потерю, и пару лет назад купила себе новый экземпляр. И вот сегодня под утро поняла, что безумно хочу его перечитать. Открыла — и чувствую подвох. Несмотря на то, что до этого читала роман лишь единожды, я помню кучу цитат из него. И они не совпадают с версией в руках. Первым предположением было, что перевод не Коваленина (по мнению фанатов и не только именно благодаря его переводам начался бум на Мураками в России 10+ лет назад). Но догадка не подтвердилась, так как даже на самых старых изданиях переводчиками значатся Логачёвы. Значит, издательства зачем-то редактируют (и неслабо так) уже готовые переводы, оставляя суть неизменной, но структурно не оставляя при этом слова на слове. И почему-то меня это триггернуло больше, чем я ожидала. Наверное, потому, что в неспокойное для себя время я хотела вернуться к знакомой истории, но даже она уже не та, что прежде… Это как смотреть «Друзей» в новой озвучке. As 2021 comes to a close, we look forward to 2022 with childlike glee. It’s a wonderful feeling of having a clean slate and starting fresh. I’ve always been a lover of color. I love deep rich colors that wrap you up like a warm hug on a cold rainy day. When we moved into this farmhouse, EVERY SINGLE wall that you could see was a neon yellow. In an effort to remedy that I had all the walls painted alabaster by Sherwin Williams. I loved the designated spaces of our old house. There were walls and lots of them. You could paint a room and not worry about sight lines and “if I paint this wall then this wall looks goofy” kind of stuff. There is a blessing and a curse to an open floor plan. All the spaces connect. So how do you differentiate little spaces? Still not sure about that but I did paint the “dinning” area and the hallway with the laundry room. I’m absolutely in love with this color! It’s so rich and beautiful! It’s very English country and old world looking.
