Ending the work week with PWR glutes and hamstrings! As my birthday gets closer I’m reflecting on my life, my health, my friendships, my struggles, my achievements and my family and I AM GRATEFUL! I’m grateful for my health. The ability to move, to workout, to build strength and even the lows of #perimenopause Do what you are able to do to move your body, and take good care of your body. We get one life and one body. ❤️ I’m grateful for my friendships, new and old. I recently reconnected with my friend after 3 years who I have known since 5th grade and we picked up where we left off. Surrounding yourself with people who see you, know you, value you and support you is essential. ❤️ Speaking of 5th grade … a fun fact about me is that my favorite thing to do during recess in elementary school was playing on the monkey bars and playing tetherball. Any tetherball players? I don’t about you but for me getting older means more wisdom and more clarity and more understanding of what life is truly about. It’s less about me and more about others. ❤️

And that’s a wrap of week 6 of my Autumn/Winter Comeback journey as well as finishing Brit’s Block 2 today with Mobility & Core. It was a great ending to a week that has been rather brutal, exercise wise and am definitely feeling my muscles have worked hard. I truly can’t believe that 6 weeks have already passed and despite feeling like a newbie again, this has been a challenging yet enjoyable Block 2 of Ignite. Despite starting the week off strong with my 3 min 30 sec post workout plank hold and 35 consecutive push ups, these last two days have been a struggle, but was determined to maintain it, all 4 days. Rounded off today with my treadmill walk. .. So today’s workout looked like this: 💦3 min elliptical 💦Brit’s Movement Warmup 💦Ignite Strength With Brit, Block 2, W12D4 - Mobility & Core 💦4,2km LISS treadmill walk 👣🏋️‍♀️👣 .. IGNITE STRENGTH WITH BRIT, BLOCK 2 - WEEK 12 Mobility & Core: MOBILITY CIRCUIT: (3 laps) Alternating worlds greatest stretch - 16 reps Alternating lat pulldown - 16 reps Plank hip flexor March - 16 reps Modified side plank abduction - 16 reps CORE CIRCUIT: (3 laps) Single-arm overhead reverse lunge - 1 min Russian twist - 30 sec Side V Up - 1 min (Rest 15 sec between each) BALANCE: Hollow hold - 1 min .. REFLECTIONS: 6 weeks ago, I deceived to embark on a 12 week Autumn/Winter Comeback journey, after taking a couple weeks off from no training at all. My goal in this time period has solely been about gaining my strength back in all aspects. These 6 weeks I have completed all 4 workouts & included 4 LISS sessions. I have also reduced my weights, to 6kgs. The first week I was averaging about a 2 min plank hold and 15 or so consecutive push ups. This last week, I have gotten to 3 min 30 sec and 35 consecutive push ups. Am happy with my progress thus far. Now what to do for the next 6 weeks…🤷‍♀️ .. PSA: They say if you want to look like you have a smaller waist do back exercises. It gives you more of that “V” shape. Between those videos I am not only moving more weight but my waist does look smaller.

Stop trying to skip the struggle. That’s where character is built. Embrace it. Learn from it. Grow from it 💪💪💪 .. It’s day 3 of my final week of block 2 of Brit and it was a doozy of an upper body sesh… my arms wanted to fall off and my triceps don’t belong to me🥵🥴😮‍💨 The tempo skull crusher came very close to living up to its name as my arms wanted to give out on me… it finished my triceps 🔥 Needless to say that I find the post workout plank hold HARD… but I pushed through to maintain my 3 min 30 sec streak. The push ups were not pretty in any way, but I did however get to 35 with arms and body shaking 😅 Finished the session off with my treadmill walk, which felt never ending without gym music playing. .. So today’s workout looked like this: 💦3 min rowing 💦Brit’s Movement Warmup 💦Ignite Strength With Brit, Block 2, W12D3 - Upper Body 💦5km LISS treadmill walk 👣🏋️‍♀️👣 .. REFLECTIONS: Today was hard in every way. My muscles are sore and I just struggled with this workout. I came close to not being able to finish the tempo skull crusher reps…especially my left arm. Was picturing the dumbbell falling on me 🫣 But despite the struggle and rather shocking looking consecutive push ups… I didn’t give up. Progress over perfection always! I’ve been on this fitness journey since I was 17 when my older brother introduced me to LA fitness, but in the past 7 years I’ve been more committed to my health than in previous years. My WHY for working out regularly started out to help my mental health and release stress. Over time the idea of getting stronger and increasing my mobility has motivated me. My journey is not perfect but it’s mine and I’ve seen progress both mentally and physically. That’s what matters. Lately I’ve noticed I can lift heavier weights for deadlifts. I get excited to add more weight to the barbell. That’s progress for me even if it’s 5 more pounds. 😂 Completed PWR strength glutes & hamstrings and I feel accomplished. Set a goal that matters to you and work hard to achieve it. You’re worth it! ❤️

I downloaded an app that I can use at home or at the gym and I’m absolutely in love with it. Ladies if you havent heard of @sweat I highly recommend checking it out. They have a one week free trial and I can guarantee that even after the first day you’re going to be adding it to your phone. If you’re looking for the motivation that I needed will definitely get it here . There’s hundreds of exercises and programs to follow along with nutrition guides and everything in between to help you stay on track. Today was LISS day. Well, everyday since the weather starts to be very nice is a LISS day (walk). But today I decided to go back to running after my breaks. Started with hip mobility first then the run It was hot, hard and slow, but so satisfying. Heavy on upgrading my entire life. It’s me verse me 💪💪💪 .. Kickstarting off week 6 of my Autumn/Winter Comeback journey today, as well as the final week of block 2 with Brit. It was a killer Lower Body sesh this Tuesday. High reps in the pyramids, a banded only circuit with squat jumps as a finisher… I think my legs are more than finished 🥵😮‍💨😅 I had two new comeback journey wins today… my post workout plank hold was 3 min 30 sec (increased by 15 sec) and my consecutive push ups were 35 (increased by 2)🥳🥳 Rounded off today with my treadmill walk. .. So today’s workout looked like this: 💦3 min elliptical 💦Brit’s Movement Warmup 💦Ignite Strength With Brit, Block 2, W12D1 - Lower Body 💦4,7km LISS treadmill walk 👣🏋️‍♀️👣 .. Well yesterday was full on! I went for a walk at lunchtime and then came home and did my first ever session with the #couchto5k app. This consisted of a 5 min brisk walk followed by alternating 60 second run then walk, it then had a slightly longer walk time of 90 seconds until you completed the whole run time before cooling off with another 5min brisk walk. I looked like a tomato afterwards and the sweat was dripping. But I wasn’t finished yet. I then did some bench presses and worked with some dumbbells before completing my yoga session on the #sweatapp. Mondays session was hip opener. I admit I struggled with eagle pose (I’ve been out of practice for a while 🙈) and the first part of the scorpion pose as I could not get my leg off the floor so ended up laughing my way through that part as I could only imagine what I must of looked like to my husband who was sat working from home. A fish out of water comes to mind. And then if that wasn’t enough! I then took my Beavers Scouts on a hike for an hour. After I waved them all off, we then turned around and went back to our starting line where our car was waiting to take us home. 8 years of @sweat! 🎊🥳 It was actually last week but did not have the time to post with the long weekend. Celebrated it with legs training 😄❤️ It is truly a lifestyle. I’m baaaack! So glad to be back to working out. Just a bit of stuffy nose sometimes (might also be my allergy) and quickly short of breath. But it won’t stop me from my workout. Hubby said I’m more cheerful now that I can workout again. He said I’m a bit more “grumpy” when I can’t workout 😂 I wasn’t able to do week 11 of block 2 last week, so this week I’ll try to complete it. Let’s hope no setback from here anymore. Happy Friday! 🥳 I read an article this week that stated that the top two types of exercises that help with symptoms of depression are walking or jogging and dancing. My walking routine is on repeat lately with the warmer weather and it makes me happy. I wake up and put my AirPods on and take a 25 minute walk in the neighborhood. I’m beginning to recognize the regular walkers. I think I can say I’m part of the unofficial neighborhood walking club. Maybe I should start an official one?! 😂 So what about dancing, you ask? FUN fact about me is I LOVE dancing. Put on some upbeat music and I will dance. I am the family member at parties who will dance alone if no one else wants to join me. For my quinceañera (15th birthday party) I hired an instructor to teach my friends, and I a choreographed waltz and salsa dance to perform together at my party. It was so much fun. I’ll never forget that. Would you rather walk, jog or dance? I’d dance EVERY time! 💃🏻

Show up. Work hard. Be kind. Spread love and work on yourself every single day 💪💪💪 .. Wrapping up week 5 of my Autumn/Winter Comeback journey with Mobility & Core by Brit today. It was a fiery core circuit but this workout is exactly what my body needed after 3 brutal workout sessions this week. With all the core exercises, my 3 min 15 sec plank hold was a struggle but just managed it. It was a repeat win of 33 consecutive push ups post workout and I finished off the workout with my treadmill walk. .. So today’s workout looked like this: 💦3 min treadmill 💦Brit’s Movement Warmup 💦Ignite Strength With Brit, Block 2, W11D4 - Mobility & Core 💦5km LISS treadmill walk 👣🏋️‍♀️👣 .. IGNITE STRENGTH WITH BRIT, BLOCK 2 - WEEK 11 Mobility & Core: MOBILITY CIRCUIT: (3 laps) Alternating bird dog - 16 reps Half kneeling shoulder rotations - 12 reps Shinbox bridge - 20 reps Reverse Nordic curl - 12 reps CORE CIRCUIT: (3 laps) Sit up & press - 30 sec Alternating Deadbug to single leg jackknife - 1 min Commando - 30 sec (Rest 15 sec between each) BALANCE: Lateral bear crawl - 1 min .. FINISHER: This week has been intense with Brit’s workouts… can feel that I am coming to the end of this block with how hard they have been… at least the muscle soreness is not so bad today. It’s hard to believe that I am 5 weeks down already with my comeback journey and only 1 more week left of block 2. I haven’t as yet managed to increase my post workout plank time but I have increased my consecutive push ups this week 🤩 Looking forward to relaxing my muscles this weekend and then finishing off next week strong 🦸‍♀️ Then it will be time to make the tough call on whether or not to repeat this block or move onto block 3….sweat sisters, your advice is welcomed…🫣😀 .. Friday lower body session from High Intensity Strength program 🏋🏻‍♀️ Felt a little stiff, tired and bloated this morning (gotta love PMS 😏) but once i was warmed up, enjoyed this one overall. Challenged myself with slightly heavier weights for some exercises too. Day 3, of week 5, of my comeback journey and it was a burner of an Upper Body sesh🔥🔥🔥 I was already contemplating whether or not I should switch to mobility & core after doing the first round of the pyramid superset as my shoulders were on fire 🥵 Thankfully the reps were not high this workout and it took all the strength and willpower to push through that first superset and the pain barrier. Thereafter, it was other upper body muscles being used and by then I was in my groove 😮‍💨 I actually enjoyed the rest of the workout, despite my whole body suffering with DOMS, since I woke up. My plank hold was maintained at 3 min 15 sec and a new record for this comeback… 33 consecutive push ups post workout 🥳🥳🥳 I am getting closer to my 40 mark again 🤩 Finished off the sesh with my treadmill walk. .. So today’s workout looked like this: 💦3 min rowing 💦Brit’s Movement Warmup 💦Ignite Strength With Brit, Block 2, W11D3 - Upper Body 💦5,5km LISS treadmill walk 👣🏋️‍♀️👣 .. IGNITE STRENGTH WITH BRIT, BLOCK 2- WEEK 11 Upper Body: SUPERSET PYRAMID 1: (15-15 / 12-12 / 10-10 / 8-8 reps) Arnold press - 15 reps Hammer grip press - 15 reps (Rest 30 sec) SUPERSET PYRAMID 2: (15-15 / 12-12 / 10-10 / 8-8 reps) Pullover - 15 reps Bent-Over Row - 15 reps (Rest 30 sec) CIRCUIT: (4 laps) Lateral raise - 30 sec Overhead tricep extension - 30 sec Zottman curl - 30 sec Shoulder taps - 30 sec (Rest 15 sec between each) FINISHER: Bicep curl to isometric hold - 1 min .. REFLECTIONS: Yesterday when I typed up my post and said the muscle soreness wasn’t as bad as what I was expecting… yeah, I jinxed myself. They came with a vengeance 😅 Today was tough and it was touch and go with switching workout plans after starting and just struggling… but am glad I pushed through. 6kg dumbbells may be lighter than what I have been doing in the past 16 odd months, but they just as effective and still seeing the growth, progress and gains. .. Still have work to do to build my upper body strength (where’s my bicep?!) I tend to neglect it, but not today. I got upper body PUSH done and soreness was pretty instant. 😂 Why do we neglect the thing we should focus on? The thing that would potentially improve other things in our life 🤷🏻‍♀️ As Brian Tracey says, you need to “eat your frog.” Do the thing you keep putting off that will yield high results. #upperbodyworkout

How is the week going? I made the crazy decision to get back into tumbling! Because why not!? 😉 Oh boy though, my body feels it. MY BODY IS A MIRACLE So even though my body doesn’t move like it used to, my body can do amazing things. It is a lot of fun to get back into something I enjoy.
