🔥 I wasn’t sure whether to put this on or not but here goes… Spinal Injuries can be really crappy. Last Wednesday I was getting a bit of neuropathic pain in my buttocks, so I heated up my good old wheat bag and put it on the sore area. 4 hours later I’m getting ready for bed and notice a large area of skin missing from my buttock. Fast forward one A&E visit, and two trips to Bristol Burns Unit. I have a mixed to full thickness (3rd degree) burn 🔥 the size of my palm, on my arse! 🍑 BUMMER! 😫 this is what happens when you can’t feel your legs and stop thinking for a second. What an idiot! It’s happens, it was an accident. But means 6-8 weeks offloading and dressings or possibly a skin graft if there’s little progress in a few weeks. Even without being a disabled woman with plus size genetics! I’m tired of feeling less than and hideous because of patriarchal and fatphobic standards of beauty. I want to break this ideal. Express myself and love my body as it is now. All bodies deserve respect. The people inside every body deserves respect. All bodies are beautiful, beauty is subjective and most of all, health of a person is: 1. None of your business. 2. Isn’t something you can judge from a glance. 3. You deserve to love your body in every phase and stage of your journey in life. So note to self: your arms are bigger sure. But they’re beautifully decorated. Your size is the way it is because of disability and genetics. That is okay. You don’t need to hate yourself because an outdated ideal says so.
