Heute vor 6 Jahren haben wir unsere Mala aus ihrer Pflegestelle in Österreich abgeholt, in welche sie nach ihrer Reise aus Rumänien einziehen durfte 🙈🐶🥰 Da sind wir zwei Bekloppten echt mitten in der Nacht los Richtung Wien, um am nächsten Tag unsere freche Knödelgurke abzuholen 🤣 Und sie war - nein sie ist - so richtig frech 🙈 Was unser Cheffe damals auch merken durfte 😂 Nichts desto trotz, waren die Beiden ein absolutes Dreamteam und Mala hat sich direkt an ihm orientiert. Cheffe hat ihr durch seine absolut souveräne Art die Sicherheit gegeben, welche sie benötigt hatte! I had to take Ruffles (ID 63188) out for a little visit today. I couldn't help myself. Ruffles was a great mother to a litter of 13 puppies and was in foster care for a while through SCRAPS. After her puppies were weaned and adopted, Ruffles was brought back to SCRAPS and thats where she's been for at least a few weeks. Ruffles is an absolute sweetheart. She happily accepted all the pets and thoroughly enjoyed being doted on. She loves treats and seems like a people pleaser. SCRAPS website also says that she is good with other dogs. I think that she would make a fabulous best friend for anyone. Ruffles is Spayed, up to date on vaccines, and is microchipped. She can go home with you tomorrow if you meet her and hit it off! 🐾Home Sweet Home! I left Sunday afternoon and pulled in my driveway this evening (Wednesday). This trip was 2,519 miles😁I started off with Jack and MIillie aboard and went to pick up 2 huskys in Rosamond CA for Husky Haven Sanctuary. Then the long haul to Castle Rock Washington. 🐶 All the dogs did wonderful with such a long drive. Lots of stops to get out and stretch. 🎉Jack was the 1st stop to his new home. Then it was up to Seatle to drop off the 2 huskys and finish up with Millie going to her new home in Pendleton Oregon.🎉 I'll be posting each adoption in a separate post. Winter was surrendered to ACCT due to housing issues, and has been doing his best to adjust to an unfamiliar environment. He has understandably had issues returning to his kennel, and even outside, has been panting and pacing. His owner had many great things to say, including that he’s crate trained, knows sit, and is a “very happy dog, loves to play and run around, loves running after toys and loves spinning in circles”. Behavior: Per Volunteer 4/18/24: Super patient for leashing! Easy to walk and direct. Not very handler focused today- he was most focused on sniffing around the play yard! Did slow laps most of the time. Didn’t show much interest in treats. Was interested in toys at first but never followed through after chasing them at first. Chill boy! Did need some help getting him back into the kennel but he went in pretty easily when a staff member looped his belly and helped to guide him. Maverick is a 9 month old male puppy who came to ACCT Philly as a stray on 5/7 and sadly is currently suffering from a broken leg (specifically: simple minimally displaced fracture of the right proximal tibia and fibula). His leg is currently bandaged and splinted, but as regular splint change and strict crate rest are needed for proper healing, and the possibility that he will need surgical intervention also exists, the shelter is no place for this sweet baby to linger. Maverick desperately needs a rescue partner to take him into their care and give him what the love and resources he needs to go on and become someone’s beloved family member. Marley came into the @eastvalleyshelter with exposed bone and an open fracture on his leg… it is just impossible to imagine how excruciatingly painful that must be. He is also a filthy matted mess and will need a complete shave down. @foxyandthehounds put out a plea this morning and we cannot thank you enough to those who donated, but Marley is in really bad shape and we need everyone to help now more than ever! The name Maddie has a sweet and charming sound, and it is often associated with young ladies who are full of energy and enthusiasm. I like to call them queens.👑👑👑. Which is fitting for this sweet baby girl. Let me tell you a little about Maddie from The Artemis Project. Maddie is a German Shepherd/Hound Mix. She's housebroken and learning basic commands. She is also very calm and laid back when around her people but get's a little nervous when left alone. However, she is crate-trained so she knows it will provide her with safety. Maddie is also good with kids and cats!😸 There are no other dogs in her foster home, but she does get excited when she sees the neighbors dog! So, a slow introduction to a new doggy sibling would probably be best. She enjoys going for walks and playing outside, but she is an indoor gal at heart. She truly enjoys curling up in your lap, or next to you on the couch! Maddie has it all! Hij komt met allerlei balken en planken naar ons toe en binnen een week staat er zo n mooi hok! Nou ja hok, het is echt chique de friemel hoor! Een prachtig verblijf, waar wij s nachts lekker kunnen slapen en overdag als we even willen uitrusten ook fijn kunnen verblijven! Harry heeft het wat hoger gemaakt, zodat we er bij regen kunnen schuilen en ook lekker uit de zon kunnen liggen, als het heel erg warm is. Also it looks like she has had so many litters of puppies how heartbreaking they could’ve just brought her inside. It would’ve prevented this. Today is a sad day for one of our longest residents, Lily. 💔😢 As of today, Lily has officially been in our care for 90 days. She's a 1.5 years old Lab mix, last weighing in at 40lbs. She was the Momma to our Wrestler litter, the last of which got adopted this past weekend. Its all too often that we see Mom's being over looked for their puppies. Lily is up to date on all vaccines, heartworm negative, spayed, dewormed, current on heartworm and flea/tick prevention, and microchipped. 🌺 Lily is an incredible dog. She is great with all people and kids, and with most other dogs! Her Bestie here at the shelter, Callie, can be picky about her friends, but she does great with Lily! Callie likes to play rough and Lily is more than happy to oblige! When she first came to the shelter she was pretty nervous of new people, but she's gotten a lot better about that since working with our employees and volunteers! She loves going on walks and being loved on. 🩷 Lily deserves a home of her own, and we hope she finds it sooner rather than later. She's already been here too long! Meet our Pet of the Week, Hazel! Hazel was originally found as a stray in November of last year. She is sweet and sensitive, but energetic and happy. Hazel gets along well with other dogs but does prefer someone to lay in the sunshine with, less about that rough a tumble stuff. Her most favorite activity is chasing a ball and batting her eyes at humans for gentle affection and treats. Hazel is sure to win you over with her loving energy and tendency to be a velcro dog. Her sensitive nature can make her feel the need to guard treats and food, so we recommend she doesn’t go into a home with small children. Meet MOOSE! • 🐶 • He recently had the chance to go on a “Daycation” (Dog Day Out) with me to get his “Paws in Motion” Here are some things I learned about home throughout the day: 🔅He’s the perfect companion for easy walking and hiking trails, he does not leash pull or tug. 🔅 He is treat motivated, has VERY GOOD MANNERS, keeps all four paws on the ground when greeting people and understands “Sit” “Stay” 🔅 He does not get in and out of cars 🚘 too easily due to a front left leg injury but once he’s inside the car, he will immediately get comfortable in the back seat, looking out the window calmly. 🔅 He loves to relax in the shade and roll around in the sun. ☀️ • MOOSE is 5 years old and was surrendered the shelter by his owner and has been there for 10 days. Update on Rosie She is doing great 🤩 and is playing with the other dogs. She will be going for her surgery next week. Rosie is an amazing puppy, so happy 😀 even after all that has happened to her. DAW rescue of the week - #womancrushwednesday On 31 May 2019 this blue eyed girlie was being sold like a bag of fruit on the side of the road. Emaciated was too mild a word for her shocking condition weighing only 12kg and her protruding bones caused infected compression wounds from probably lying on a cold, hard cement floor. Her tummy was also full of stones as she desperately tried to escape the burning hunger pangs. We set out to save her life no matter what, even though her kidneys and liver had taken strain due to her body slowly shutting down. We named her Atara meaning crown, as she was shining like a queen day by day, so brightly as her ice blue eyes spoke deeply to our hearts. Atara is now 6 years old. Very confident, independent and quickly became leader of our pack after she graduated from rehab. She can be very assertive yet calm but won't let you walk by without a kiss and a cuddle, she gives the best cuddles. Atara has now been 1816 days (4 years, 11 months, 19 days) in the shelter, which is so unfair because surely her story, her strife and her success should have secured her, her fur'ever family by now, especially with her unique looks. We are now even more pressed for her to find her family because the dirt road and sandy blows from the ground and wind is really irritating her skin and at times causes hot spots. Although we chronically give her the best treatment baths and medications, the absolute best healing would be a home, a soft couch or sharing your bed with you. She is so praiseworthy and exceptional, so could you be the commendable candidate to scoop her up before she reaches another 365 days at the shelter? Meet Juniper, my accidental rescue pup! In March, I returned a repeat runaway dog who had started to recognize my truck & asked if the owners needed a dogwalker… and learned they needed to rehome her. My little escape artist loves snuggles and salmon, disrespects gravity, opens handled doors raptor-style, desperately wants the puppy in the mirror to play, and sometimes sings with her coyote friends in the arroyo. She is an excellent copilot and keeps me safe with a little paw on my leg 🥺.
