We want to say thank you to the teachers Amira and Patricio for their amazing support to the 3 dogs that they rescued pictured below. We didn’t have room at Huellitas so they donated & paid to build them a large kennel at the shelter where they bring food every month for them. Yesterday this wonderful couple donated money to help rescue the mommy of the baby Chihuahuas in addition to Cindy Lou, our rescue partner at Little Dog Rescue Society in Vancouver who also donated to help rescue the mommy. Update on Rosie Last night Rosie stayed with Cheryl after her surgery. The surgery went well and now we wait while she recovers to see if she regains normal function. 🇲🇽🇺🇸WELCOME TO THE USA ROSIE🇺🇸🇲🇽 Last week, our good friends at @bosleys.place made a trip to Tulum, Mexico to work with some local rescues - showing them life saving care for neonatal puppies and taking much needed supplies. While they were there, they had the opportunity to meet sweet little Rosie who was about to find herself with no place to go. Her amazing foster was about to return home to the UK but no one had come forward to adopt this precious girl. So plans were made to bring her back to the US! The final piece of the puzzle was finding a place for her to go once she got back to Atlanta so thats where RMG came in….we are thrilled to be able to be a part of this precious girl’s international journey and make sure she never winds up on the streets again! Rosie is about 5 months old and around 25ish lbs. Even living in a hotel, her foster in Mexico got her off to an amazing start in life! She’s just about fully house trained, amazing on leash, great with other dogs and cats, and absolutely loves people! Being a Mexican Street Dog, not much is known about her life before rescue so we really have no idea how big she will end up being. No matter her size, though, Rosie is going to make the perfect addition to one very lucky family! Now that I’m over the day of SKUNK I can tell you about my weekend. My cousin (by adoption) Zoe came to visit for like 48 hours! And I showed her my backyard and my favorite park and we went to the bridge and to lunch with Grandlpa and Ron and we were exhausted. I like being with Zoe and most of the time I’m not annoyed by her except when she plays with a toy I haven’t cared about in six months because now that I’m reminded of it I want the toy. Welp.... Our little fighter Dolly has had some setbacks this week 😪. Last weekend, Susy noticed that Dolly was running a temperature 🤒 and her wounds seemed inflamed. She rushed her to the emergency vet who confirmed that her infection had kicked in again and she needed to be watched closely. We kept her at the vet receiving intravenous antibiotics 💊💉and vitamins and she was able to come home on Tuesday. Unfortunately on Thursday the rod in her arm broke loose and she found herself back at the vet. The vet thinks that her wound maybe two porous and we may still be forced to amputate. 🗡️🦴 We won't know for a while but please send good thoughts into the universe for Dolly! She's been through so much and we just want her to get healed up, healthy, and be able to come to the US for adoption soon! 🏡 Thank you so much to everyone who donated! 🌈💰🙏 It looks like we may need some additional funds for covering her latest costs and future checkups. We think we may have great home in LA for this lovely girl pup. She was roaming around Alamos looking for a place to sleep and kept getting chased away by the various packs of dogs that inhabit all the different areas. She tried to sleep in the Pantheon (the cemetery) but Negra the resident dog there didn’t like that and bullied her into leaving. She’s now safe at ADF and is getting spayed today so she’ll be ready for her trip North mid September. Once again it’s Senõr Skiny that’s come up trumps and found her a home with his good friend and work colleague.
