Please officially welcome Snoopy to SV Pet Project! We received a request from the County of Santa Clara Animal Shelter a few weeks ago about a young Border Collie who arrived at the shelter with a massive wound and infection. They were concerned she would need a long time for the infection to clear and might eventually need a rear leg amputation. Well, we have had Snoopy in our care for a few weeks, and we are so happy to report that she is already making huge strides! Her wound, thanks to twice daily treatments from her foster mom, is healing beautifully and her leg is improving every day! We are so grateful for the partnerships we have with our local shelters to be able to work together to save the animals who need us most. Meet TAFFY! • 🐶 • She recently had the chance to go on a “Daycation” (Dog Day Out) with me to get her “Paws in Motion” on an amazing run through Renaissance park! Here are some things I learned about her throughout the day: 🔅She’s the perfect companion for long walks and hiking trails!🌲 she does not pull or tug on the leash when walking and loves to play in the water. 🔅 She is treat motivated, has good manners and keeps all four paws on the ground when greeting people. 🔅 She easily gets in and out of the car 🚘 with no problem and gets comfortable in the back seat within a few minutes, looking out the window calmly. 🔅 She is super affectionate and loving! 🤗 and needs the right person to give her the proper TLC she needs! • TAFFY is just 4 years old and has been at the shelter for about 15 days. PWAA has many goals but our core mission is to lower barriers to adoption for the neediest homeless animals at the ASC. Rescued, she was in a boarding house for a year, sterilized, regularly vaccinated for infectious diseases; published, never adopted. She was in our shelter, but she lost weight during the winter, so Slobodanka took her home to help her recover, regain her weight and muscles. She looks like a “pivotman” in handball.. Only muscles and strength. That’s how she behaves too. She runs into the crowd, Slobodanka finds her in the most impossible places.. From the dining table to the worktop.. 😊 Although she eats well and supplementation with vit B, her skin problem has returned...which we also treated with Bravecto two years ago. Meet: DUKE •🐶• He recently had the chance to go on a “Daycation” (Dogs Day Out) with me to get his “Paws in Motion” on an amazing run through the trails🌳! Here are some things I learned about him throughout the day: 🔅He’s the perfect companion for jogging, running and hiking trails!🌲 He kept up on the trails with very little leash tugging, and when we found water & shade he LOVED every moment of it! 🔅 He is treat motivated, has good manners and understands his basic commands like “Sit” & “Stay” 🔅 He loves to play fetch and tag as well as water games and has no problem having his coat brushed after. 🔅 He is young, confident, respectful and super affectionate! 🤗 • DUKE is just 1 years old and has been at the shelter for 7 days. Owner Surrender 02/27/24 Adoptable to adults only home No other dogs required Low energy Known history of aggression disclosure form Cisco Kidd was anxiously barking at the front when the runner approached. His body was relaxed, his eyes were neutral, his ears were up, his mouth was open with a heavy pant, and his tail was neutral with a loose wag. He was easy to leash and remove. He pulled strongly on leash, and was easy to collar. In the catch pen, he barked, growled, and snapped at the other dogs through the fence. He was muzzled prior to entering the yard. He continued barking and growling at the other dogs for a few minutes before he sat down and panted heavily. He entered the yard, he was easy to steer, but approached each dog in turn and tried to fight with them. The other dogs did not engage in an altercation with him, and he eventually went to lie down in the pool. However, anytime the dogs moved closer to him, he would jump out and try to fight with them again. The handlers were able to steer him away from the dogs, but he never became comfortable with their presence. He allowed the handler to pet him all over with no issues, but yelped and pulled his right front foot away when the handler squeezed the toes. However, he remained easy to handle. The muzzle was removed, and the handler repeated the assessment. He leaned against the handler and allowed her to pet his whole body again. He seemed to really enjoy having his ears scratched. After a few minutes, he began to anxiously nip at the handler’s hand and fingers. Otherwise, he remained easy to handle. Nomak, männlich, geb. ca. 30.04.2022, geimpft, gechippt, kastriert, aktuell im Tierheim Kanton Thurgau Ein Hund, der von innen heraus strahlt, mit einem Herz aus Gold, sucht sein Zuhause, sein warmes Körbchen und vor allem jemanden, der sein treuer Begleiter sein möchte. Wie es ist, verlassen zu werden musste der liebevolle Rüde bereits erleben. Von seiner Familie wurde er einfach im örtlichen Tierheim abgegeben. Warum? Wir können es uns nicht erklären. Mit seiner Liebe und Freundlichkeit, die er allen Menschen entgegenbringt, hat er sich ganz leicht seinen Platz in unseren Herzen erobert. Er ist unkompliziert und einfach nur dankbar für jede Streicheleinheit, jedes Lächeln und für jeden Moment der Zuneigung. Noch kann Nomak zwar nicht all zu viel. Aber neues lernen fällt ihm leicht und er möchte seinem Menschen unbedingt gefallen und mit ihm gemeinsam arbeiten. Über den Besuch einer Hundeschule würde er sich sehr freuen. Auch Mantrailing& Geruchsdifferenzierung wären spannende Aufgaben die Nomak viel Freude bereiten würden. Allgemein ist Nomak sehr gerne draussen. Lange, interessante Spaziergänge liebt er sehr. Es gibt so viel spannendes, dass Hund da entdecken und erschnüffeln kann. Wir können ihn uns auch super als Begleiter auf Wanderungen vorstellen. Auch wenn Nomak eher ruhig wirkt und nicht immer gleich ganz vorne mit dabei sein muss, mit 2 Jahren ist er noch ein junger Hund. Dementsprechend ist da noch einiges an Energie, die auch mal raus will. Nomak liebt spielen sehr. Wenn Herrchen oder Frauchen die Puste ausgeht, dann gerne auch mit anderen Hunden. Danach kann Hund auch gemütlich im Bettchen mal eine Runde chillen. Nomak ist mehr als ein Hund. Er ist ein Seelengefärte, der darauf wartet, sein ganzes Leben mit einem Menschen / einer Familie zu teilen. Today was a special day at @labsandmore where we adopted two new recruits for our program 🐾 Meet Draft and Bandit! Both will have new names chosen by their Red Star Sponsors, and we can’t wait to share some special moments of their evaluations with you soon. Draft was a stray that was picked up by Animal Friends of the Valley before Labs and More found him and took him in 🖤. We promised him he would never feel the loneliness of being a stray ever again. He is so eager to learn, and already offers several obedience commands for treatos. He loves treatos! Draft is going to be an incredible support to a deserving veteran soon. . Bandit, the smiley and fuzzy guy, is just under a year old and LOVES - love! He had this amazing way of giving each of us a recharge we didn’t know we needed just by curling in for a hug. His smile will light up every room he is in. We know he is going to be a very special support to a veteran who needs him one day. . 🐾Home Sweet Home! I left Sunday afternoon and pulled in my driveway this evening (Wednesday). This trip was 2,519 miles😁I started off with Jack and MIillie aboard and went to pick up 2 huskys in Rosamond CA for Husky Haven Sanctuary. Then the long haul to Castle Rock Washington. 🐶 All the dogs did wonderful with such a long drive. Lots of stops to get out and stretch. 🎉Jack was the 1st stop to his new home. Then it was up to Seatle to drop off the 2 huskys and finish up with Millie going to her new home in Pendleton Oregon.🎉 I'll be posting each adoption in a separate post. Hey ya’ll. I’d love to borrow just a moment of your attention for these 2 sweet souls. 🙏 Neither of them have a name yet and they both came into #LittleRockAnimalVillage with a very similar issue: a lack of trust in people. 😢 Pic 1: This American bulldog came in COVERED in ticks. I don’t mean those little ones either. I mean some of those were there too, but I’m talking about those gross ones that make me wanna throw up at the mere thought of them. 🤢 She was not exactly a fan of me pulling them off her, but I gained enough of her trust to allow me to do for about 20 minutes. She had an upset tummy and it was hot outside too, so not much about our time together was pleasant for her. But I talked to her and loved on her and gave her some cookies, so I hope she forgave me. The LRAV staff made sure she got good meds to make all those nasty ticks stay away too. She came in as a stray from Alexander Road on 5/3, weighs about 40 pounds and is about 3 years old. She deserves to live with someone who will cherish her for life and never allow her to be in such poor condition again. She’s available to adopt on 5/10. ID: L24073 Pic 2: This gorgeous black pittie baby is a very shy girl. So shy in fact that she did not want to come out of her kennel. I begged - I truly did. 😢 I tried to lure her with cookies and love to just come out and go for a walk with me, but she just wasn’t ready. Bless her heart. 💔 She was shaking from all the noise and commotion that comes with living in a shelter. I know she must’ve needed to go potty so bad, but her lil heart was too afraid. She let me give her pets and talk to her for a while inside her kennel, so I know the desire to be loved and to love back is there.
