We had such a lovely Legan Handfasting ceremony yesterday in Loch Awe. The Bride is a member of the OBOD and she wanted a Celtic/Druid orientated Ritual. For a special energy touch I brought for them real Proto Celtic money for a abundance and an original Celtic Solar Wheel from my private collection. The crow wing was to honour the Morrigan. But other Druidic/Celtic Deities were honoured during the ceremony. The place was stunning and the couple beautiful. Can't wait to see proper photos taken by the photographer. This mosaic artwork is situated on St Nicholas lane in Aberdeen - Illustrating female pioneers of the city who have empowered and strived for women’s rights. An opportune location behind the Kirk of St Nicholas where many witches were imprisoned prior to their execution. “Gallus Quines” (Doric) translates roughly to daring or bold women in English. “We are the granddaughters. All of the witches you were never able to burn” This panel speaks of The Aberdeen witchcraft panic of 1597 which resulted in the execution of 30 women. Naming the women and briefly stating some of the words used against them. The artwork also pays homage to both the @scottishpaganfederation and WASPI (Women Against State Pension Inequality). “Deeds not words” - depicting women who shaped Aberdeen. One of which is Caroline Phillips, “a pioneering journalist who put her job on the line to spearhead the suffrage movement in the North East”. Caroline was also a honorary secretary of the Aberdeen branch of WSPU (Women’s Social and Political Union). The Sun is out(at least in my area) reminding us that spring and hope bubbles forth eternally. The soft reminders of new life and struggling forth. Shoots pushing through hard cold dirt to reach the promise of the sun...and life. A reminder from the universe for us to persevere. That through the dark and cold(and uncertainty) of winter, there is the sun, warmth and hope of spring. The eternal wheel turns again. We must hold this within us now. We must remind ourselves, that spring -will- come. That like the "dead seeds in dark cold dirt", we too, -will- persevere! Our faces will once more rise to the warmth of the universe. We are Priestesses, Witches, Pagans but some of us are also Mums and Dads! In my case I was a Pagan before I became a mum. We are more and more Pagan Families out there. When I organise events or meet ups as a Mum is a key factor they are family/children friendly. My daughter comes with me always and if I'm joining someone else I ask if she can come. There are mums out there that struggle to be able to go to Pagan Events cause they can't find help with their children. It's our responsibility also when we hold community to provide safe space for pagan families as many feel kind of left out, unable to attend certain events without having to find help or paying for childcare. Hopefully when things are safe in the future we will be able to gather again. I will for sure will be organising Picnics and Moots open to families. If you hold space for other Pagans, when possible, try to welcome families. It makes a difference for those that have little ones. (In the photo my daughter this morning. Had the loveliest weekend I’ve had in literally ages. Went to see @lankumdublin for @tradfested on Friday night, which was so, so good. It was a delight seeing people playing whistles live of course (nothing like the torturous videos of me playing that I subject you all to in my stories haha!) and then yesterday was the @scottishpaganfederation conference all day and it was one of the best I’ve attended in the 5 or so I’ve been to. I also had a solo fancy dinner at David Bann & my lovely pal is the manager and made me this gorgeous mocktail! Swipe to see some highlights!
