Had an amazing time visiting the Ronald McDonald House in Gainesville, Florida and meeting our new friend Phoebe! 😍 Today, I created a custom postiche that fits Phoebe perfectly. In just under an hour, I made a Glueless everyday postiche that can grow with her. When designing a custom unit, it's crucial to consider the future needs of our patients. In 1-2 years, Phoebe may or may not require a postiche, but if she does, she'll likely need a larger size. While all lace wigs offer versatility, they often require a lot of adhesive and maintenance. As Phoebe's natural hair starts to grow, a full lace unit may not fit as well. That's why I advocate for Glueless wigs for medical wear instead. Ensuring comfort and flexibility for Phoebe's long-term well-being is my priority. Es war so schön zu hören und zu sehen wie sich die Eltern über ein leckeres Essen gefreut haben und es auch wertschätzten. Wir wünschen allen Eltern ein baldiges nach Hause gehen mit ihren Kindern und eine schöne Zeit mit den kleinen. Alles in allem ein Abend der uns mal wieder bereichert, inspiriert und dankbar gemacht hat. In 2017, Laura and her husband Dave were expecting twins, when Laura went into labour at just 28 weeks. “By the time I got to the hospital it had been quite a while and unfortunately our first twin Josh, despite the staff at the hospital trying their best, didn't survive the trauma of delivery, and passed away very shortly after he was born. “They did an emergency C-section and whisked Luke straight off. He was just 2lb 8oz." Laura and Dave were given a room in our #ArrowePark House to stay close to Luke. 🏡 “I felt a mixture of surprise and relief, and then disbelief, that this was here and was a Charity that was willing and able to support us as a family.” 👨👩👦 “I do not know how I would have coped; I genuinely don’t know if I would be here. “You can be in a room full of people and feel so isolated and alone, and all it takes is one person to sit down and say: 'it's OK to cry'. 😢 “The House team have a great level of understanding and compassion, as well as practical advice and knowledge. You're never on your own.” After seven-and-a-half weeks in the House, Laura, Dave, Hugo, and Luke were able to go home together. And now, six years later, Hugo is seven, Luke is six, and they have a little sister, four-year-old Fern. 😍 Laura has raised thousands of pounds, spoken at events, and now even works for our Charity as Housekeeper in the Arrowe Park House. 🙌 “Volunteering, fundraising and now working for the Charity have given me a focus, a means of giving back, and a way of keeping Josh’s name at the forefront. All of these are hugely important for my mental health and my mental and emotional recovery. “I feel blessed to have had the support of the staff and wider Charity when I needed it the most, and even more fortunate to be able to provide that support now for other families.” Thank you so much to Laura for sharing her story and highlighting the positive impact our Houses have on our families' mental health. ❤️

For sick kids, being in any hospital, they just want their families close by as they battle childhood diseases, illnesses and injuries. To do this, Ronald McDonald house has set up a family room in Wollongong Hospital where families can take a break, play with some toys, enjoy a nice warm meal, or take a shower. We had a great time with the Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Philadelphia Region celebrating their 50th anniversary in an epic way - with a Plane Pull! Our team of 20 apprentices showcased their strength and camaraderie by pulling a plane 75 feet at Philadelphia International Airport. And guess what? We clinched FIRST PLACE among 35 competing groups, with a lightning-fast time of 15.5 seconds! We’re taking part in RMHC House of Hope for the month of May to support seriously ill and injured children, and their families, at the RMHC Family Room in Wollongong Hospital. For sick kids, being in any hospital, they just want their families close by as they battle childhood diseases, illnesses and injuries. To do this, Ronald McDonald house has set up a family room in Wollongong Hospital where families can take a break, play with some toys, enjoy a nice warm meal, or take a shower. This month, you can purchase a HOUSE OF HOPE card for $5 each to directly support families at Wollongong Hospital. You can purchase them in salon or through the link in our bio. You can write your name on the card and we’ll display it on our HOUSE HERO wall. Did you know that we are Dancing for Sick Kids this week?! 🤩 We are once again making the move for 7 days this May and dancing to make a difference! In 2021, 2022 and 2023 our amazing HUDS family of students and teachers signed up to take part in Dance For Sick Kids which is a fundraiser for the Ronald McDonald House Charities. A worthwhile cause that aligns with our values of giving back to our community through the joy of dance. Last year alone we raised over $5000 to support families that utilise Ronald McDonald House at a point in their child's lives that can be very difficult in so many ways not only financially but emotionally. Ronald McDonald House Charities provide support for families including the ability to stay nearby while their family member receives treatment, this can help lessen the burden (slightly). Helping out at #ronaldmcdonaldhouse last night was a great experience! Thanks @sourcedchch for the opportunity to lend a hand. It was only a couple of hours investment on my part but well received by those we were supporting by providing a hot meal (and dessert(!) - who knew that a ‘chocolate log’ with actual chocolate chip cookies and cream was a thing?) Yes I know - I AM wearing a pinny and YES my elder grandson is nearly as tall as me! Lol
