Ich durfte in der Schule viele Werke von ihm lesen wie «das Versprechen» oder «der Besuch der alten Dame». Ich wusste aber nicht, dass es auch gemalt hat. Er wollte sogar zunächst Maler werden, brach aber mit 25 Jahren sein Studium ab und widmete sich dem Schreiben. Privat malte er jedoch weiter. Als er das Theater entdeckte war das eine Offenbarung, denn dort konnte er beide Leidenschaften kombinieren. Seine Zeichnungen sind dramatisch und oft nicht auf den ersten Blick zugänglich. Er kümmerte sich wenig um Ästhetik oder um Kunstströmungen. . 🔹 Bis heute ist Dürrenmatt (1921-1990) bei Vielen nur als Schriftsteller bekannt. Das CDN bringt seine Bilder in einen Dialog mit seinem literarischen Werk. . 🏛 Das Museum wurde vom Architekten Mario Botta konzipiert und in das ehemalige Wohnhaus von Dürrenmatt integriert. Join us from 5 – 7 p.m. tomorrow (5/10) for the opening of “Full Circle: An Exhibition of Community Creation, Curation, and Collaboration.” Enjoy a piano performance by Charles DiMagno, light appetizers provided by Streetfood, and complimentary drinks. In this exhibition, we asked creatives living in Teton County, and surrounding counties, to be inspired by or reinterpret one of four works from our permanent collection—and they delivered! Contributing artists offer us their reimaginings of these pieces and explore their own connections to wildlife, nature, and community. Works can be reflective, literal, satirical, funny, or serious; really, there’s no limit! A jury of community members, including K-12 students, artists, and art lovers, selected the local artwork on view in this exhibition.
