Here’s an immersive media project on the process of recycling. This is a simulation I worked on with two other people, made almost entirely from scratch. We used the program Unity to create the scene + animations; and we imported our own Blender 3D models. This simulation is compatible with a Meta Quest 2 VR headset (and other android devices). We were successfully able to launch it on a headset, where it’s meant to be enjoyed! Last week Joel and I stayed at The Stanley Hotel, the inspiration behind The Shining and where the Shining series and the Shining sequel movie Dr. Sleep was filmed. Joel took some photos of me and I quickly sketched the view we had out of our room 432 (swipe right). The fourth floor, the floor we stayed on, used to be where children would play back when the Stanley’s were operating the Hotel. Eerily, after we checked into the room, a lollipop randomly appeared above our window (swipe right). We had not seen it when we first entered the room and the hotel claimed to have not seen it during their cleaning inspection before we check in so it was especially spooky.
