My first experience at @wppievents was about 17 years ago. Though just within the last ten years I’ve attended some years to represent myself, my work, and for continuing education, and those 3-4 days straight of being in the same space with photographers who simply understand! It’s always fun to see and handle new gear and software, but for me #wppi is a time to sort of slow down, rewrite, revise my notes and prepare for the year. There’s always something new to do and learn from notable portrait (and wedding) photographers, favorite educators, and vendors that continue to inspire my journey..and meet up friends! In the last few years, I’ve arranged trips to New York City during Autumn for photography events to work on my goals, share my work, and continue learning (unfortunately the events got postponed and cancelled). It all began when I received a little gift of raw beets before dance class about seven, eight, nine years or so ago from this loving family.
