Located directly next to the Bilino Polje Stadium in Zenica, BiH is the architecturally impressive Hotel Internacional. Built in 1978 by Bosnian architect Slobodan Jovandić, this concrete hotel complex is primarily characterized by its series of sweeping cantilevered overhangs extending from its central tower, which gives the structure a sense of floating or defying gravity. In addition, the hotel was also quite modern for era, having full air conditioning, fine restaurants, a sauna, etc, which resulted in some considering it the finest hotel in central Bosnia at the time. As such, during the Yugoslav-era, this hotel's impressive architecture and modern facilities led to it being embraced as one of Zenica's primary landmarks, appearing on many of the city's postcards and promotional materials. However, after the dismantling of Yugoslavia in the 1990s and the ensuing Bosnian War, the hotel was closed and began to fall into neglect. Since then, the Hotel Internacional has continued to lay vacant and degrade even further, remaining closed to this day. Wizyta w gdańskim Domu Technika to zdecydowanie archi-highlight tego roku. Spontaniczne wejście do środka skończyło się bardzo profesjonalnym i pełnym zaufania potraktowaniem ze strony obsługi budynku i zgodą na swobodne fotografowanie. Piękne wnętrza i jedne z najlepszych schodów w kraju w opakowaniu nawiązującym cegłą do pobliskich historycznych zabudowań. Naprawdę miło fotografowało się przestrzeń, która zawiera taką różnorodność form i detali, umieszczonych na stosunkowo małej powierzchni. A jednak wszystko ze sobą wyśmienicie gra. Bardzo podoba mi się też zapowiedź ceramiki ze środka na ścianie przy wejściu do budynku. Chciałbym zobaczyć jeszcze salę konferencyjną oraz wnętrza z większą ilością naturalnego światła, bo trafiła nam się późna pora i deszczowa pogoda, może kiedyś :) /// Dom Technika NOT, ul. Matisse’s “Portrait de femme” is a small painting on wood panel from 1917. With canvas in short supply due to the war, Matisse used these panels for a series of closely cropped portraits, many of which feature the model known as Laurette.
