Hey everyone! I recently spoke with my son's speech pathologist and wanted to share an idea with you all. I've noticed that many people are upgrading their old tablets to newer ones, and I'm wondering if we could help spread the word about donating Apple iPads. I truly believe that speech devices are essential for those who struggle with communication. Unfortunately, not everyone has access to good insurance that covers these devices. That's why I think it would be amazing if we could donate our old Apple iPads to speech pathologists and therapists. These devices with the communication app can cost around $800 or more, and not everyone can afford them. Nor does everyone have the insurance that would cover. Everyone deserves a voice, and by donating our old iPads, we could potentially help someone in need. If you have any questions or are interested in donating, please let me know. I would be more than happy to pick them up and deliver them to local speech therapists. Please keep in mind that only Apple products work for this purpose, and they would be strictly used for communication, not for games. Celebrating entering a new year with my family set my intentions for 2024 without me having to think too hard about it. I’ve never really set new year resolutions as such, but work each year to slowly implement new habits around something that interests me and continue to extend those habits (normally health or hobby focused). But it hit me that kids seem to have life worked out more than we give them credit for. So this year, my focus is going to be to learn more from my boys. I want to follow their lead and bring the speed of life back down to the pace at which they function, bringing more balance to every day. I want to limit unnecessary stress and anxiety and enjoy activities and moments more as they do and have more fun. When they ask to go for a bike ride, or read a book, or play a game, or go and explore somewhere, I am going to try and stop the “later” or “we can go once I’ve done X” or the dreaded “tomorrow”! Instead, as much as I can, I am going to say “YES” and leave what I’m doing where possible. Because really - what happens if the washing isn’t folded or if it sits in the machine for another 20 mins? Who is going to care if the house isn’t super clean and tidy? What universe collapses when the set list of chores for the day aren’t progressing at a cracking pace? Does the world invert if I leave the gardening half done or don’t fill in the hole I’ve dug? ACTION: my word for 2024 💣✨🚀 But first let’s talk about 2023 2023 was humbling and didn’t go anything like I had planned. And I’m sure from the outside looking in my year looked like I was absolutely thriving. I mean after all, I traveled, hosted amazing retreats, my team keeps growing and I’ve achieved my dream body. But what you didn’t see, I’m in more debt than I’m comfortable with, I had to make some of the hardest decisions in my business ever (what was best for the business but decisions I personally didn’t want to make myself) and going through my personal journey to over come my hormonal imbalances. I believe these challenges make us who we are and help us grow into the person we are meant to be. I choose to move forward and take massive Action this year! In my own health and fitness, finances, faith, family and fun! Choosing Action as my word for 2024 because it embodies the essence of progress and change. It’s not just a word; it’s a commitment to turning aspirations into achievements. This powerful word will be my anchor, guiding every step and inspiring me to turn dreams into reality. Movember November... What can you do to help? 〰️ My pledge this year is to raise awareness of mental health, and a personal journey... Life is hard, but we deserve to be happy and healthy 🌻 While I originally wanted to sign up to Movember and 'Do something amazing, every single day', I am not in that space right now, I'm physically and mentally unable to contribute in the way I wish I could 😶🌫️ Mental health can be overlooked, it can creep up on you and slowly be chipped away at without you even realising...
