Cosy slow cooker family recipe 🍂🍁 It’s my favourite time of the year, the change in weather means cosy knits, crisp autumnal mornings and bringing out the slow cooker! The slow cooker is the busy parents best friend. All you have to do is throw everything in in the morning before the day starts and then it’s perfectly cooked by dinner time 🤌🏼 I love my new slow cooker, lakelanduk treated me to a new one a few months ago (PR gift) and it’s the perfect size and everything was cooked to perfection 👌🏽 You can use any curry paste you like for this recipe, for young children pataksuk do a mild curry paste, for big kids who like things a little bit spicier I love the pataksuk madras - this curry is also perfect for entertaining friends! (Can you tell I’m a fan?) This recipe isn’t suitable for babies under the age of 1 so head over to my page or website and look for babies first curry ❤️ Ingredients 600g lean diced beef 2 tbsp curry paste (I use pataksuk ) 400g tin of cherry or chopped tomatoes 2 garlic cloves (or a tsp of verylazyfooduk ) 1 tbsp tomato purée 1 tsp cumin 1 tbsp peanut butter (manilife_ always 👌🏽) 1 tbsp mango chutney 1 beef stockpot 1 white onion diced Optional garnish with spring onions, coriander and fresh chillies (for grown ups!) EASY SNACK IDEA 🍓🥜 Peanut Butter and Jam French Toast 🤌🏼 Here’s a quick and simple little recipe idea for breakfast, lunch, supper or an after school or nurse snack! My two love French toast so I’m always looking at ways to jazz it up and this is really a fool proof method guaranteed to be a hit with the whole family. Lamington anyone? Try our game-changing Raw Lamington Balls. Grab your food processor to turn nutrient-dense ingredients into balls full of flavour. 🤤 Ingredients ⭐️ ~ 225 g (1 ½ cups) cashews ~ 80 g (1 cup) desiccated coconut, plus extra for rolling ~ 1 tsp vanilla extract ~ 3 tbsp coconut oil ~ 60 ml (1/4 cup) maple syrup ~ 100 g dark chocolate equates to one standard bar Method ⭐️ 1. Add all ingredients, except chocolate, to a high-speed food processor and blitz until a crumb-like consistency.   2. Roll one tablespoon portions into balls and place onto a lined try before putting into freezer for 20-30 minutes. 3. Add the chocolate to a glass bowl that will sit over a saucepan with about 2 cm of simmering water. Stir over a gentle heat until melted. 4. Turn off heat but leave the pot of chocolate sitting on the saucepan of hot water to prevent the chocolate thickening. 5. Remove the chilled balls from the freezer and line another tray with baking paper. Add a small amount of desiccated coconut to a small plate. 6. Place one ball at a time into the chocolate, rolling over to coat. Lift out on a fork to allow the excess chocolate to drip off. 7. Holding the fork over the plate of coconut, pick up some coconut and sprinkle over the ball then place on lined tray. Add more coconut as needed. Transfer tray to the fridge or freezer to set the coating.

Delicious Cheesecake Pops Ingredients: - 2 cups crushed graham crackers - 1/2 cup melted butter - 16 ounces cream cheese, softened - 3/4 cup granulated sugar - 1 teaspoon vanilla extract - 2 large eggs - 1 cup sour cream - 1 cup heavy whipping cream - 1 cup white chocolate chips, melted - Assorted toppings (sprinkles, crushed nuts, etc.) - Lollipop sticks Directions: 1. Preheat your oven to 325°F (165°C). 2. In a medium bowl, combine the crushed graham crackers and melted butter. Press the mixture into the bottom of a 9-inch springform pan to form the crust. 3. Ingredients: 2 1/2 cups semisweet chocolate chips 1 (14 oz) can sweetened condensed milk 1 tsp vanilla extract Food coloring (blue, purple, pink) Edible glitter and star sprinkles Directions: Line an 8x8 inch baking dish with parchment paper, leaving some overhang on the sides for easy removal. In a medium saucepan, combine the chocolate chips and sweetened condensed milk over medium heat. Stir continuously until the chocolate is melted and the mixture is smooth. Easy purple yam (Ube) stuffed croissant. Recipe in stories today. This recipe is so easy! Can be made with sweet potato and canned pumpkin too. The best part is that my 6 YO chose to use leftover, uneaten Ube this way. All I had to do was ask her, what should we do with these now? SAVE if you love pancakes 🍓🥞 There’s something about pancakes on a Sunday ☀️🍂 I also love how easy this recipe is. Once you’ve made them a couple of times you won’t even need to measure the ingredients - just throw it all in a bowl, give it a good mix and make the list delicious moist pancakes 😍 Love my pancake pan - I’d be lost without it! Did you know that omega 3’s aren’t just found in fish?  Many unexpected foods are a great source of omega 3’s, and here are some of my favourites that I use in many of my recipes.  Who said getting your daily dose of omega-3 has to be boring? Omega 3 is important for growing bodies and here are some key functions of calcium in the body: 1️⃣ Brain Development: Omega-3s, particularly DHA (docosahexaenoic acid), are essential for brain development and function. They play a crucial role in cognitive functions such as memory, problem-solving, and attention. Adequate levels of DHA during pregnancy and early childhood are associated with better cognitive outcomes. 2️⃣ Behavioural & cognitive health: Omega-3 fatty acids, especially EPA (eicosapentaenoic acid) and DHA, have been linked to improved mood regulation and decreased risk of behavioural problems such as ADHD and aggression in children. 3️⃣ Immune system support: Omega-3 fatty acids have anti-inflammatory properties that support a healthy immune system. They can help reduce the severity and duration of illnesses in children. For picky eaters, I always recommend increasing omega-3’s in the diet by adding nuts and seeds to smoothies, muesli bars, raw chocolate bars, dips, spreads and sauces. Supplements can also help to ensure they get an adequate intake for optimal health. However, always consult with a paediatrician before starting any supplements for children. This is the perfect 1st veggie curry for baby to try from 6 months and likewise the whole family. I just make a big portion of it in advance or prepped in about 20 mins in my Nutribaby food prep maker and will do for multiple meals for up to 3 days. SAVE and try this recipe this week♡ Ingredients 300g chopped butternut squash 60g dried red lentils (rinsed) 1 large tomato chapped 1 small white onion diced 1 heaped tsp Garam masala 1/2 tsp turmeric 150ml coconut milk 1 tsp garlic purée 1/2 tsp ginger purée Small handful of coriander Method Add the lentils and 60ml water to the cooking vessel of the Nutribaby then place the steaming jug on top with the butternut squash, then stack the steaming basket on top with the onion and chopped tomato Steam everything for around 15 minutes, carefully remove the steaming jug lid and allow to cool slightly Add the tomatoes, onion and half of the butternut squash to the attached blending jug, then add the Garam masala, turmeric, ginger, garlic, coconut milk and coriander. Pulse blend until a smooth sauce in created Add the rest of the butternut squash and the lentils to the sauce and use a spoon to mix Serve the butternut squash dal by itself or with cooked basmati rice. Easy Slow Cooker Meal 🍂 This is your sign to turn your slow cooker on! I’m still obsessing over slow cooker season, it’s so perfect for us busy mums and dads who have mouths to feed at the end of a long day! This is a cross between chilli con carne and macaroni cheese - don’t knock it until you’ve tried it! Two of my favourite meals combined into one - and it’s a minimal effort slow cooker meal 🥹 So if you’re loving your slow cooker follow along for more, I’ll be posting a few new recipes a week 🙋🏼‍♀️ Chilli Mac and Cheese Serves 4-6 portions Suitable from 6 months Ingredients 500g beef mince 200g macaroni pasta 500g passata 1 - 2 tsp verylazyfooduk chopped garlic (or 2 cloves crushed) 1 tin of kidney beans (water drained) 2 bell peppers chopped (any colour) 1 onion diced 70g frozen or tinned sweetcorn 400ml beef stock (substitute with zero salt stock or water if feeding to children under the age of 1) My Baby Mexican Spice Mix: * 1 tsp garlic power * 1/2 tsp paprika * 1 tsp oregano * 1tsp cumin * 1/4 tsp smoked paprika * 1 pinch cinnamon * 1/4 tsp turmeric * 1/4 tsp chilli powder * 100g grated cheddar cheese Method Add all of the ingredients aside from the macaroni and the cheese to the slow cooker. Mix well breaking up the mince meat as you mix. Cook in high for 4 hours or low for 8 hours In the final 30 minutes of cooking time, carefully remove the lid and add the macaroni, half the cheese and optional coriander. Mix well and place the lid on top Remove the lid 10 minutes before you’re ready to serve and place the rest of the cheese on top. Pizza night 🍕 My eldest doesn’t like anything tomato related so instead I made the girls a pesto, chicken and Mozerella flatbread. Γεμιστά μπισκότα με κρέμα σοκολάτας ( χωρίς γλυκαντικά) Υλικά για μπισκότα 1 μπανάνα ώριμη 1/2 αβοκάντο 1 κ.σ. κακάο άγλυκο 1 κ.σ. ταχίνι ( ή άλλο βούτυρο καρπού) 5 κ.σ. βρώμη Σε ένα μπολ λιώνουμε με πιρούνι την μπανάνα και το αβοκάντο, προσθέτουμε το κακάο, το ταχίνι τη βρώμη και ανακατεύουμε. Σε ένα ταψί με αντικολλητικό χαρτί, σχηματίζουμε μπισκότα με το κουτάλι και ψήνουμε σε προθερμασμένο φούρνο στους 180 για 12 λεπτά. SAVE for an easy toddler friendly pudding 👶🏼🍎 This simple recipe is great for a pudding or an after school or nursery snack. I love them because they taste like the ones you get from McDonald’s which is my guilty pleasure! However these are more healthy and baked instead of fried. You can make this recipe suitable for babies under the age of 12 months, just make your own apple sauce with no added sugar (or use an apple baby food purée) and leave out the maple syrup. Mini Apple Pies 🍎 Suitable from 12 months (see notes on how to adapt for 6 months) Ingredients 1/2 a sheet of ready made shortcrust pastry 8 tsp apple sauce 1/2 tsp cinnamon powder 1/2 tbsp maple syrup 1 egg Method Use a knife or pizza cutter to slice the pastry into 4 rectangular slices, place them on a lined baking tray In a small bowl mix together the apple sauce, cinnamon and maple syrup. SAVE for an easy meal idea 👩‍👧 On days when it’s just Eloise and I I like to make really quick but still nutritious lunches, we will both enjoy! Sonic you love cauliflower cheese you will LOVE this recipe - I also topped ours with crispy bacon which is a delicious addition, although keep in mind bacon isn’t suitable for babies under the age of 1. You don’t need to follow the exact amount of this recipe to a “T” just add enough milk so it’s a smooth consistency. Cotton Candy Fudge Sweet and Dreamy Cotton Candy Fudge Ingredients: 3 cups white chocolate chips 1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk 1 teaspoon vanilla extract 1/4 teaspoon almond extract Food coloring (pink and blue) 1/2 cup cotton candy, divided Directions: Line an 8x8-inch baking dish with parchment paper, leaving some overhang for easy removal. In a medium saucepan, combine the white chocolate chips and sweetened condensed milk. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until the chocolate is completely melted and the mixture is smooth. Remove the saucepan from heat and stir in the vanilla and almond extracts. Divide the mixture evenly into two bowls. Add a few drops of pink food coloring to one bowl and blue food coloring to the other. Stir each until the colors are well blended. Pour the pink fudge mixture into the prepared baking dish and spread it evenly with a spatula. Add half of the cotton candy, gently pressing it into the fudge. Pour the blue fudge mixture on top of the pink layer and spread evenly. Add the remaining cotton candy, gently pressing it into the fudge. Allow the fudge to cool to room temperature, then refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or until set. Once set, remove the fudge from the baking dish using the parchment paper overhang and cut into squares. Tonight I made these quick Strawberry Mini Muffins for the kids for their snacks at school tomorrow and they were truly delicious. 🍓♥️ I have a simple recipe further down for Apple Muffins so just used that and used a dash less maple sugar and added fresh strawberries in and they were so good. My kids and husband kept grabbing them until they were almost gone. These can also be made easily into regular sized muffins, but the mini muffins fit well into those little lunch boxes. ♥️🍓 I wanted to add a note here as to why I use Oat Flour for most snack recipes for the kids for followers who are new to MM. Gluten Free Oats are one of the two cleanest and healthiest grains for your body to consume, the other being millet. I find millet flour a bit crumbly and bland to bake with, and we use brown rice and quinoa in many of the other foods the kids consume on a weekly basis (rice cakes, brown rice crackers, brown rice and quinoa pastas), so I like to balance their overall grains profile. If you think about it, someone consuming gluten/wheat flour will have it in everything, so balancing healing grains actually brings in a greater variety of nutrients. Oats are a good vehicle to bring in and combine healings foods like fruit and potatoes, pure maple syrup, cinnamon, spices and so much more, which actually enriches the properties of the grains. I may experiment with more millet flour and gf flour mixes soon, but I hope these simple healthy additions are helpful to your kids’ diets if you decide to try them. Enjoy! And Happy Healing. ♥️🍓 Strawberry Mini Muffins ♥️🍓 4 Cups GF Oats 2t Baking Powder 1t Cinnamon 1/4 C Maple Sugar 1 C Pure Maple Syrup 1/2 C Apple Sauce (we like Eden) 1/2 C Freshly Chopped Strawberries ♥️🍓 Preheat oven to 375 and line a mini muffins pan with If You Care parchment cups or a similar brand. Blend your oats, baking powder and cinnamon into a fine flour. Pour into a medium sized bowl. Add your maple sugar, pure maple syrup and apple sauce. Mix well and add your freshly chopped strawberries. Let set for 4-5 minutes. Scoop out spoonfuls and fill your muffins cups. Bake for 15-18 minutes or until firm to the touch on the tops. Enjoy! 🍓♥️

Calling all one pan lovers 🙌🏼 Don’t forget to save for later 👇🏼 Here’s a really quick week night recipe, the whole family absolutely loves it and it even gets Maxie eating salmon which is something he often turns his nose up to so winner 💁🏼‍♀️ So it’s very almost a one pan recipe but I does require you’re salmon to be cooked - I do mine for 10 minutes in the air fryer and it’s perfect 🤌🏼 You can of course use any pasta, I often use rigatoni probably because I like the way it rolls off the tongue 👩🏼‍🍳 Such a wholesome family meal 😍 Recipe Not suitable for children under 12 months due to salt content in the pesto Ingredients 500g rigatoni pasta 200g broccoli (around half a head) 100g pesto 2 salmon fillets 100g double cream Method In a large pan boil the pasta until almost cooked then add the broccoli for the final few minutes until it has just turned soft. Drain and add back to the pan Add the pesto and cream and mix well, then add the salmon and use a fork to roughly break it up before stirring again. RASPBERRY PEANUT BUTTER CUPS 😍 These Raspberry Peanut Butter Cups are so delicious, Eloise, Maxie and I shared them and there wasn’t a crumb left! They’re perfect for batch cooking, can be kept in the fridge for breakfast or as an on the go snack! My SIL once shared that she knew a mom who fed her kids beef almost daily. Safe to say I’m thoroughly inspired, haha! 🙈 We don’t take enough meat at home, so this added iron boost is sure a good to have. Save the recipe! 500g flank steak, sliced Marinade: 1 1/2 tsp corn starch 2 tsp vegetable oil 1 tsp oyster sauce 1 head of broccoli, cut into florets 3 cloves garlic, minced 1 tbsp shaoxing wine 2 tbsp cornstarch (add 2 tbsp water to make mixture) Sauce: 2/3 cup water 1 1/2 tsp sugar 1 1/2 tbsp soy sauce 1 tbsp oyster sauce 1 tsp dark soy sauce 1/2 tsp sesame oil Method: 1) in a bowl, mix beef slices with marinade sauce. Set aside for 30min. 2) bring a pot of water to boil, and blanch broccoli for 2-3 minutes. Drain and set aside. 3) Heat pan over high heat, add 2 tbsp oil and sear the beef slices on both sides until brown. Set aside the cooked beef. In the same pan, add 1 tbsp oil and garlic. Add shaoxing wine. 4) make the sauce mixture by combining the ingredients. Add the sauce mixture into the pan. Bring to a simmer, then add cornstarch mixture. Allow to simmer and thicken. 5) return the broccoli and cooked beef into the mixture. Mix everything until well coated. Serve immediately. #kidsrecipes #beefandbroccoli

Covid Chicken Curry 🤌🏼🫣 Jokes aside this was absolutely NEEDED after eating takeaways and freezer meals this week (although sometimes needs must and when you’ve been struck down with this nasty strain of covid it’s definitely one of those times!) I can’t believe I made it this far without catching it but here we are, it’s 2023 Q4 and it’s back 😷 I believe this is a particularly nasty strain going around so sending virtual hugs and fist pumps to anyone else who’s got it 🤜🏼 So I put the slow cooker on yesterday and even managed to film it (pat on the back) although let’s face it it’s not very complicated it’s a dump and go recipe filled with extra veg to help boost our immune systems. Ps my hands were washed and it was cooked on high for 4 hours to kill off any germs 🫣 the kids and Mark have managed to dodge it so far 😬 Creamy Coconut Chicken Curry Serves a family of 4 Suitable from 1 years Ingredients 3 diced chicken breasts 2 large tomatoes chopped (or around 150g cherry tomatoes, you can also use a tin instead) 2 bell peppers sliced 1 onion diced 400ml can of coconut milk 1 tbsp curry paste of your choice (I use pataksuk madras - it’s a bit of the spicy side but my kids like it - substitute with a milder option and it will be just as good) 2 tsp garlic purée 1 tsp ginger purée 1 tbsp mango chutney 1 tbsp tomato purée 1 tsp Garam masala 1 tsp turmeric 1 chicken stock cube 1 tbsp natural or Greek yoghurt Method Add all of the ingredients apart from the yoghurt to the slow cooker and mix well Cook on high for 4 hours or low for 8 hours Remove the lid and stir in the yoghurt and optional fresh coriander Serve with fluffy basmati rice #kidsmeals #childrensnutrition #familymeals #weaning #weaningideas #weaningbaby #weaningjourney #blwideas #blwsnacks #blwrecipes #blwinspiration #toddlersnacks #toddlermealideas #blwbreakfast #blw #familyrecipes #kidsrecipes #familymeals #womensupportingwomen #costoflivingcrisis #cheapmeals #cheshiremum

I had a wonderful mothers day and feel so thankful for my little flock. We are all getting over colds so had some r & r. I whipped up this Angel Food Cake with homemade whip cream and fresh strawberries! 🍓 The perfect light dessert for spring or summer after a meal. We are taking it easy this week. Slowing down on school lessons & house work and just focusing on recovering ☀️ Homemade Whip Cream Recipe: 2 cups of heavy cream 1 big tsp of vanilla 1.5 cup powdered sugar Using a mixer whisk on medium for 5 minutes until peaks form. Refrigerate for a week. Also great on top of coffee ☕️

Vegetable Pulav🍛 👉Ingredients: - 1 cup basmati rice - Assorted vegetables (such as carrots, peas, bell peppers, cauliflower), diced - 1 onion, finely chopped - 2 cloves garlic, minced - 1-inch ginger, grated - 2 green chilies, slit (optional) - Whole spices (cumin seeds, cloves, cinnamon stick, cardamom pods) - 2 cups vegetable broth or water - Salt to taste - 2 tablespoons oil or ghee - Fresh cilantro leaves for garnish 👉Instructions: 🍛Rinse the basmati rice under cold water until the water runs clear. Soak the rice in water for 20 minutes, then drain and set aside. 🍛Heat oil or ghee in a large pot or pressure cooker over medium heat. Add the whole spices and sauté until fragrant. 🍛Add the chopped onion, garlic, ginger, and green chilies (if using). Sauté until the onions turn translucent. 🍛Add the diced vegetables and sauté for a few minutes until they begin to soften. 🍛Add the soaked and drained rice to the pot. Stir well to coat the rice with the vegetables and spices. 🍛Pour in the vegetable broth or water and add salt to taste. Stir gently. 🍛Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat to low.
