First trail running event done! Not for a lack of trying though, I’ve been entered into many that have either been cancelled or I’ve been injured or sick but it’s great to finally complete one! Although being a bit under the weather last week put that into question too. The hills were brutal, some very very tough ascents which then made for some very tough descents. The pins were feeling pretty fried early on and it took a long time to get my heart rate to settle. The views were absolutely magnificent but there were also parts of the course that the word “trail” was questionable. My running poles turned into machetes trying to get through the thick bush. Alyssa (EndoBellyGirl) sits down with us today to talk about how as athletes with endo, we need focus on repairing our bodies after putting them through stress (moderate-high intensity exercise). As athletes we tend to repeatedly cause stress on the body. Although this isn’t always a bad thing, we do have to compensate for the pressure we put our bodies under, which as endo suffers can be harder to recover from. 💔 Have you ever been so excited and equally broken hearted about something? . Maybe this will speak to your heart as well. . 💛As we know running is an important part of my life and helped me through many things. Surgical menopause has not been kind to me and running had to be put on a pause. ⏸️ . ☀️I have been blessed to use my gifts as a run coach to help athletes go after goals and conquer races. My run life is living through each of them. 🙌🏻 So grateful!!!! . 📣💔This is where things get tricky. I’m so excited to cheer and watch local races, but at the same time it hurts my heart that I’m not out there. Have you experienced this feeling before? . 🥺I had tears before the 10k and cried on my way for the half/full. Once I had my moment I was ready to go. I know not being hormonal balanced and still not sure how to handle this newer me all plays a factor in this. . 🗣️Why do I share this? To let others know you’re not alone in having these feelings. Allow yourself to feel all the feelings then let them go. Remind yourself that you are so brave! Keep being persistent and know we will have our time when it’s right or something better will come our way! 💛 . Felt the need to push myself out the house this morning after sleeping for most of the last 36 hours … got the session done but was only going through the motions. Squats @ 55kg (60% 1RM) (10, 10, 8, 8) Superset lunges @ 20kg and hip thrusts @ 50kg (3 x 8) RDLs @ 50kg x 3 Been on for over a week and it’s been harder than any this year so far. What an absolutely epic weekend away in Tekapo completing @themackenzierace around Lake Tekapo. It’s the longest ride I’ve done on my mountain bike and I certainly entered type 2 fun! However these views were quick to erase any pain in the legs..or maybe that was the ice cold water. It felt like a proper rugged back country event and a real adventure. Out on adventures with the two four legged mates! Longest ride for Riley and Luka today through the forest then down to the river bed where they got to play in the much fuller Wairau river after some much needed rain last week! This week rolls into race week again! It’s been a gentle couple weeks after hurting my knee last Monday in the trails. Still hopeful it was just a bit dramatic and will continue to settle down entirely. This weekends 88km mountain bike race in Tekapo might turn into a slow gallivant around the lake looking forward to the aid stations smorgasbord! #ironman #ironmantraining #swimbikerun #triathlete #offroad #mountainbike #livintrigue #livbikes #womenfortri #livefeisty #chasinggoalsnotdreams #trailriding #endoathlete #fightingendometriosis #extrapelvicendometriosis #endostrong #itriforthosewhocant #aussieshepherd #aussiesdoingthings #australianshepard

We’re all here for the same goal, supporting athletes with endometriosis to thrive and enable them to reach their full potential. Our central hub (link in bio) is specifically aimed at the athlete on a personal level, but in reality they spend most of their time with their coaches and training partners. Which is why it’s so important for everyone to be on board, having the right conversations and being aware of what support they might need. We are SO happy to support coaches and training partners, giving them the confidence to be able to have the necessary conversations for everyone’s gain. Knowing the signs and symptoms of endo can be really beneficial. Some people don’t even realise they have endometriosis, so, if you can identify this as a coach or training partner you might even change their life! If you’re still unsure of what endo really is, please look at our previous posts, and if you have any questions feel free to ask or DM us. Have you ever wondered why each person with endometriosis experiences different levels of their symptoms? The stages of endometriosis go a little way in explaining a bit about the severity levels, HOWEVER: Someone with stage 4 endo may experience less pain than someone with stage 1, so it doesn't help us that much, which is also why its so easy to get confused! Let's face it, the lack of research and funding doesn't help much 😢 The stage of your endo may change over time, likely increasing in severity, pain, and discomfort. But of course, there are no guarantees - that's part of the problem with endo, everyone experiences something completely different. Have you been told what stage your endo is at? #endobelly #pmdd #endo #endometriosis #endometriosisawareness #period #womenshealth #periodista #womensupportingwomen #endometriosispain #fyp #foryou #bloating #menstralcycle #happiness #nature #laparoscopicsurgery #endometriosissurgery #endoathlete #athlete #sportswoman #womeninsport #femaleathlete

An opportunity presented itself yesterday to take part in the @endometriosisnewzealand challenge for completing 120 minutes of activity in the way of running 120 minutes for the 120,000 Kiwis with endometriosis. Thanks @finding_your_beauty for organising this. You were way too fast for me but good to get out there with other endo warriors to nut out some time on feet! And thanks @trailrun_physio for trotting along with me at snails pace for a little bit to keep the mind occupied. The body handled it relatively well only three weeks post Ironman but by the end the legs were feeling a bit sad! Some stretching this afternoon will hopefully see that right. IMNZ Race Report Run - 42.2km I was a bit nervous when I first got the bike and walked towards transition as I really didn’t feel my legs had much left in them. Once changed and running shoes on I headed out the tent, stretched out the hip flexors and started a run. I felt amazingly good. My legs turned over and I certainly enjoyed being surrounded by people again! As the aid stations came I ate and drank appropriately which was the biggest change on last year where nothing would go down. I actually felt hungry at times!! This is where I played a bit conservatively as a few times my ankle spasmed up and I didn’t want to push it to the point I couldn’t continue. The first two laps I felt really good and was keeping a reasonable pace. Lap 3 was where the lip sagged a bit and I was a bit over it. I met and jogged along with some super lovely people, some who had had really tough days. I think anyone who finished on Saturday really had to fight and dig deep. I approached the finish line and was so relieved to be going under that banner once again. Then to my upmost shock and surprise it was Chelsea Sodaro who placed the medal and towel around me. I couldn’t contain my enthusiasm and wanting to hear every aspect of her day! Such an inspiration and a really special moment to hold onto!! And just like that, Ironman NZ 2024 was over. Overall I PB’d in each disciple in way tougher conditions than last year but my body stood up to the challenges so much better as well. So where to from here - I still think I’m going to end up chasing that perfect day! #ironman #ironmantraining #ironmannewzealand #swimbikerun #triathlete #womenfortri #livefeisty #ascis #teamcpathlete #teamcpnz #1%better #endoathlete #fightingendometriosis #endowarrior #itriforthosewhocant

IMNZ Race Report Bike - 180km Coming out of the swim and onto the bike I felt a bit unsteady on my feet but keen to get to work. I had in the back of my mind the wind from the lake might show itself on the bike. Boy it did! Getting out of Taupō again I felt great and descending down to the turn around. That first 45km I felt strong but did get struck with a couple mechanical and wardrobe issues which mean four stops on the first lap to fix things. Points to work on next time and thankfully nothing catastrophic. When I got to the turn around I saw Jordan and I called out if she’d finished her swim to which I got a big grin and thumbs up. Phew! I had worried about how hard she felt that swim up until then. I powered back up the hill and ambitiously decided to really push it going downhill, making up as much time as I could knowing that the final ascent was going to be to be tough. My legs felt okay at the turn around then coming back into the headwind. Wow. By the time I returned to what is dubbed “heartbreak hill” the wind was blown a 50km/hr headwind. Needless to say, I was over it. That was a true slog and I thanked the Marlborough winds for conditioning me for such things but I was ready to be off that bike and hope there was something left in my legs for the run. My average cadence on my run was 78. This is something my coach and I have been working super hard on as it was sitting around the mid 60’s. So to hold this higher cadence all day in tough conditions, I’m super proud. Transitioned arrived and it was time for the next step! #ironman #ironmannewzealand #ironmantraining #swimbikerun #womenfortri #livefiesty #cervélo #tineli #simplyfaster #torqnutrition #tailwindnutrition #garminnz #endoathlete #itriforthosewhocant

IMNZ Race Report Swim - 3.8km When I finished sorting out my bike I made the normal wander down to the waterfront. There seemed to be this slight unease in the air and a I got closer I heard unfamiliar waves against the normal still shores of Lake Taupō. Sure enough, the westerly had kicked up earlier and had turned this normal reflection worthy lake more into something that reflects a Picton afternoon. I don’t mind swimming in choppy water, if anything I find it a bit fun, but when there are 700 people swimming around you that makes it interesting. The half distance started before us and within a few hundred metres there were people turning around or being rescued. Hm, maybe the view from the bank didn’t do it justice. I got down into the water just before my start with little time to think of how rough this was going to be. The cannon went off and away we went. It was a washing machine. With everyone struggling to keep their lines it was really physical as we got bumped and thrown around. A few times I struggled to maintain composure and the big picture overwhelmed me. But I kept on track and went marker to marker. I was so relieved to see the final turn into shore and felt pretty wobbly standing up. I couldn’t quite believe it when I saw the time and I had gone faster than last year when the conditions were perfect!! It was amazing to see the hard work pay off for the swim and that’ll keep me motivated during future early morning pool sessions! Most of those around me were wearing faster coloured swim caps, so maybe I’ll be able to add colour to my swim cap collection after all! #ironman #ironmannewzealand #swimbikerun #openwaterswimming #laketaupō #imnz #womenfortri #blueseventy #huubswimming #triathlete #endoathlete #fightingendometriosis #itriforthosewhocant

March is always a “big” month for me personally. It’s my birthday month (March 3rd). International Women’s Day falls on March 8th and the month of March is Endometriosis Awareness month. Endometriosis is a chronic inflammatory disease that affects 1 in 10 women. I was the one in 10. It occurs when tissues start growing outside the uterus. That tissue is similar to the tissue that lines the womb. This results in adhesions forming on internal organs. There currently is NO CURE. There are 4 categories from mild to severe and I was diagnosed with category 4. It had adhesions all over my bladder and other internal organs. My fallopian tubes were completely blocked. I eventually had them removed before Gary and I started IVF. I was told I’d have a better chance of conceiving without them. I don’t think it made a difference. I think my womb was rendered inhospitable by the extent of my endometriosis. It’s not an easy disease to diagnose. It often takes up to 8 years to get a diagnosis. The only way that endometriosis can be confirmed is by laparoscopic surgery. The surgery is also the treatment. During the procedure, the surgeon can get rid of the adhesions. There is no guarantee that they won’t come back so surgery is often a temporary fix. Now that I’m post menopausal, my symptoms are gone. Mentally the fall out from this disease still sticks with me. I never would have gotten diagnosed if I didn’t pressure my doctor to send me to a specialist. I knew it my gut that something was wrong. You know your body better than any doctor, so don’t be afraid to advocate for yourself! #endometriosis #endowarrior #endometriosisawarenessmonth #endoathlete

After an amazing couple of days training on my period, I’m down! 😣 This happened last month too and I’m not sure if I’m always going to get pain on day 3/4 or if I’m making it worse by training. Either way I’m super happy so far this week and determined to remain positive! My physio is worried about how weak my “deep stabilising core” muscles are which mean I have no hip stability - maybe those exercises aren’t helping either. They literally contract muscles I spend half my life trying to relax 🤦‍♀️ If anyone fancies training as a sports physio for people who’ve had several endo surgeries - I’ll be your first client! #endoathlete #trainingwithendo #adenomyosis #trainingonyourperiod

Race week is here!!! I feel like a bit of an imposter with how amazing this bike looks and feels! There will be a low threshold to move back to the other wheels if the wind is looking strong but I’m feeling all a bit flash with this set up. I have to say I’m proud of the effort I’ve put into training this last six weeks. I’ve made a big effort to train in all conditions including pouring rain, 40km/hr winds, 36 degree days and even the odd cold morning. I do feel well prepared to take on what Taupō will offer on Saturday. When people find out you have endometriosis, some people react differently to others. Although the majority of people are empathetic, helpful and know just what to say, this hasn’t been our experience with everyone. We put this together to help those who don’t know what to say to their friends who have to deal with endometriosis. If in doubt, remember that empathy and understanding go a long way and it’s OK if you don’t know the perfect thing to say… we just appreciate your support! Final long session done! A day full of wildlife from swimming through jellyfish, over a stingray and then a bee flew into my helmet and stung the side of my head 🥴 I feel I’ve given training everything recently while keeping some life balance. I expect nerves for the day will start ramping up now the hard work is done, but I can reflect on the fact I don’t know if there was anything else I could have done preparing for Ironman New Zealand. Taking a gamble with Zoladex has allowed me to get the most out of my body but staying true to the journey and trusting the process has also got me to this point. So today I enjoyed the views of the Marlborough Sounds reflecting on how much I’ve improved over the last few years of training and how I continue to enjoy the process. 13 days until we race! #ironman #ironmantraining #ironmannewzealand #imnz #triathlete #swimbikerun #teamcpnz #teamcpathlete #womenfortri #livefeisty #cervelo #garminnz #endoathlete #endometriosis #fightingendometriosis #endostrong #itriforthosewhocant

Deffo have a tweak somewhere in my quad 😭 and I sliced my foot open yesterday so no running/cyclone for me this weekend. Decided to go heavy on the upper body and test my bench press and got a new 1RM so not all is lost! 🏆 Hoping rest over the weekend will sort it out! #trainingwithendometriosis #endoathlete #injury #1RM #liftheavyshit

Endometriosis is well known to affect women with a variety of different symptoms, but not all women experience the same symptoms and have different tolerances of pain. Some of the main symptoms are listed above, however, we know this list isn’t exhaustive! What are your endo symptoms like? Like many women waiting on a diagnosis or having a diagnosis of endometriosis, Helen & Hollie have both received very little support and information about how to work and train with such a debilitating condition. With a collective 26 years in the health and wellness industry, and our endometriosis diagnosis’, we have both independently evolved our own coping and thriving mechanisms, and after rolling them out to a few close friends, are ready to share them with you. #endobelly #pmdd #endo #endometriosis #endometriosisawareness #period #womenshealth #periodista #womensupportingwomen #endometriosispain #fyp #foryou #bloating #menstralcycle #happiness #nature #laparoscopicsurgery #endometriosissurgery #endoathlete #athlete #sportswoman #womeninsport #femaleathlete

New race kit tested today which went very well! I’m stoked to be wearing Team CP kit in Ironman New Zealand. The heat was in full force today and I felt surprisingly cool in this kit which was awesome. It’s been another awesome week of training with some epic distances! My body has responded super well to training although the fatigue from the heavy load is certainly kicking in a bit. I’m almost excited to be tapering soon!! Total distances Swim: 7km Bike: 205km Run/walk: 31km Another round of Zoladex today to keep my endo under control. One thing that is proving to be difficult is keeping the hormone replacement therapy patches to stay stuck to me during this high volume of training. How does anyone expect menopausal women to remain active if the HRT patches don’t stick very well during activity. Another dilemma in the womens health field! #ironman #ironmantraining #triathlete #swimbikerun #womenfortri #livefeisty #ironmannewzealand #teamcpnz #teamcpnzathlete #garminnz #endoathlete #endostrong #endometriosis #fightingendometrioses #zoladex #hrtpatchesneverstick #itriforthosewhocant

This morning’s run felt like very hard work with my legs screaming from the word go! Thanks @coachgareth75 for putting up with my walking and moaning 😆 Last 30 minutes was spent with a nice walk/jog around Newmillerdam - couldn’t help but think about how lucky I was to be able to be out ❤️ #endoathlete

Endometriosis is a long-term condition where tissue similar to the lining of the womb grows in other places, and much like the tissue in the lining of the womb, menstruates and bleeds - however this blood has nowhere to go, unlike a period. It’s a whole body disease and is considered one of the most painful diseases to have (NHS). 1/10 women are currently diagnosed with endometriosis, but the reality is that many women go undiagnosed for years, living through pain and suffering as though it’s normal. #endobelly #pmdd #endo #endometriosis #endometriosisawareness #period #womenshealth #periodista #womensupportingwomen #endometriosispain #fyp #foryou #bloating #menstralcycle #happiness #nature #laparoscopicsurgery #endometriosissurgery #endoathlete #athlete #sportswoman #womeninsport #femaleathlete

Endo Athletic has been created by Helen & Hollie. We both suffer from endometriosis, although our experiences differ greatly, but we have both managed to compete at a high level, nationally and internationally. We know what it’s like to have all the usual competition related stress AND deal with endometriosis on top of that, which poses its own challenges. We are here to share our joint expertise in the health and wellbeing industry, alongside our endo related knowledge, to support other athletes with endometriosis. #endobelly #pmdd #endo #endometriosis #endometriosisawareness #period #womenshealth #periodista #womensupportingwomen #endometriosispain #fyp #foryou #bloating #menstralcycle #happiness #nature #laparoscopicsurgery #endometriosissurgery #endoathlete #athlete #sportswoman #womeninsport #femaleathlete

Feeling super grumpy as I’m wiped out and know I shouldn’t train. So I’ve decided to celebrate that so far on my period I have: 🏋️‍♂️ Completed two gym sessions 💻 Worked full time for four days 🚂 Travelled for work for two days 🎳 Went bowling and for dinner with my colleagues (including my favourite work twin as pictured above!) In November, on my period, I stayed in bed for three days and cancelled my work trip to London. Trying to treasure the massive change in pain instead of hated myself for what I haven’t done! 💪 #mirenacoil #periodtalk #endoathlete #endometriosis #adenomyosis

A big morning for me today. I came on yesterday and feel fine so far so went to the gym. I DIDN’T do any core work and I won’t do the high intensity work after as I don’t want to ask for trouble but a good deadlift, front squat and RDL set feels like I’ve won the bloody lottery this morning. Had to try quite hard not to cry in the gym as I was a bit overwhelmed! I’m going home to fuel well and I will continue on my painkillers for this month - not tempting bad luck! #mirenacoil #endoathlete #trainingwithendo #adenomyosis #endometriosis

Can’t explain how much I’m loving training atm. Learning so many new things and sharing with the @omniaperformance Wintering Community has given me a love for exercise I haven’t had since my excision surgery 💪 Love our little gym - everyone is so considerate and it’s such a comfortable place to train. 🏋️‍♂️ Feeling so grateful to be feeling so healthy - praying it continues #training #endoathlete #liftheavyshit

Another huge week of training with 17 more hours banked ✅ Longest swim 3.2km with the beautiful Golden Bay backdrop Longest ride 150km Longest run 10km (furthest I’ve gone since my ankle injury!) Absolutely thrilled with how the last few weeks have gone putting in pretty big hours. I had a small endo flare on Saturday which given I’ve not had one for a year it took me a while to realise what it was! Running is still behind where I’d like it to be but still pleased with how it’s progressing given the ankle injury which is still giving me a bit of a hard time but nothing that can’t be managed. Some weeks hit differently and this last fortnight has been a bit of an emotional test. I’ve got a new why for Ironman in March and doing it for a good friend stricken by motor neurone disease is not a why anyone wants. But I will be thinking of her and others who face this terrible diagnosis during the long hours of training for the next 10 weeks and on race day. This was me heading out on my run at lunchtime. I was so happy with my rare, almost matching, outfit… I planned a flat 5km to forget about work, family, the future and endo. Instead I accidentally ended up going up a massive hill (could barely walk up it 😂 ), taking a call from my doctor to arrange a Christmas coil fitting (after a 3 month wait) and emailing my (always understanding) boss to let them know I’d be finishing for Xmas a bit earlier. (I now have half the days to get a lot of stuff done!!) Best laid plans eh? 😂 I am hoping to recover quickly and am being super optimistic about the fact it might help my worsening symptoms (promise 🥺) #endoathlete

Keeping things fun and adventurous lining up for my first ever mountain bike event! It’s been a fun time getting back out of my comfort zone this year on the mountain bike. I think it’s certainly making me a stronger rider and giving me a chance to work on manoeuvring on the bike. Coordination is not my strong point but I’m enjoying the process of getting stuck into something new. Another good reminder to not stay complacent and keep trying new things. So last week went by and somehow in the just keeping consistent and focusing on each session I didn’t realise until after I’d completed my biggest training week ever. It wasn’t entirely the plan but so pleased with how it went. My ankle was grumpy but tolerated the load. I’m month nine on Zoladex/goserelin and although there have been some endo tweaks it’s still remarkably under control. It’s been so weird not having to think too much about my endo symptoms and even more crazy, I go for my long rides and don’t bring any pain relief with me. It seems unreal to not have plan A, B and C for managing endo pain and I can just focus on how my body is performing. As long as my ankle holds up I’m super excited what this training will bring. Swim distance - 6km Bike distance - 190km Run/walk - 26km 3x gym sessions Total time 17hrs17 minutes 13 weeks to go! #ironman #ironmantraining #ironmannewzealand #triathlete #triathlon #swimbikerun #womenfortri #womenwhotri #womeninsport #livefeisty #injuryrehab #endoathlete #endostrong #fightingendometriosis #adenomyosis #extrapelvicendometriosis #endowarrior #itriforthosewhocant

Why hello December! I’m very excited for you! . You may ask why. 🤔 I am working again with @endurance4you to help me build my running base while keeping my focus on Jesus. . Did you know that run coaches need a coach as well? We could coach ourselves, but we know the importance of handing the reins to someone that can see the entire picture and push you when you don’t think you can. . Don’t wait until January or a few months before a goal race to find a coach. Start looking NOW! You deserve it! Running helps us physically, mentally, and spiritually. Find a coach that will help you grow and continue to run for years to come. 💛 . Keep moving FORWARD!

The last few weeks have been in attempt to return to something that vaguely looks like a training programme. Swimming has been a bigger focus than it has been previously and I can see the progress. A 60km ride today has given me confidence that the fitness is hiding in there somewhere and ready to be tapped into. And a slow gradual start to running is being made. Add in some adventures with these two doggies, it really is beginning to look like training. After a week or two of feeling a bit down in the dumps about it all, motivation has returned to an all time high and I’m seeing hope that Ironman in March might still be obtainable. We can only hope and keep working towards it! #ironman #ironmantraining #swimbikerun #ironmannewzealand #imnz2024 #womenfortri #womenwhotri #womeninsport #triathlon #aussieshepherd #australianshepherd #aussiesofinstagram #aussiesdoingthings #endoathlete #endometriosis #fightingendometriosis #injuryrehab #itriforthosewhocant

“KEEP GOING” 🦋 . Motivational note seen on my run/walk intervals today. . I feel like some people need to hear this. Friends, I know life is TOUGH sometimes, but we have to KEEP GOING. . Some days that may mean getting out of bed, taking a shower, taking kids to school or making dinner. . 🦋Do what you can at that moment. Don’t worry about tomorrow. . Reach out to your support system. ❤️ If you don’t have one, create one!

11/20/2023, 10:11:58 PM

Someone was very happy to join me on my 30/60 run/walk intervals today! ❤️🐶 . Not sure if my endo surgery recovery was harder on me or her. 😂 This girl loves exercise! . Looking forward to getting some miles in with my running buddy! 💕🐾

11/18/2023, 8:57:47 PM

So I did something this week… . . . I deleted ALL my activities from my Garmin so I could let go of previous PRs and paces. 😱 . Talk about something freeing to know that my new journey let’s go of all previous expectations. 🙌🏻 . For now my journey is to continue healing, grow into movement, while showing myself love and kindness! 💛 . Are you in a season where you should start over and let go of precious expectations?

11/14/2023, 5:30:41 PM

What a joyful day! ☀️ . I had an appointment with my endo specialist and I received the green light to start run/walk intervals! 🙌🏻 God is so good! I’m blessed to have a surgeon that understands how much running and being active is good for my body and mind. 💛 . To be honest, it has been a very difficult few years with being in surgical menopause, fighting so many symptoms, trying to get my hormones balanced, learning I can still get endo after having my ovaries removed, anxiety, depression, and the list goes on and on….. . 💡 Positive side - I have grown into a stronger, better person despite everything that has been thrown at me! . Excited to see where God leads me! Praying I can encourage and inspire others! 🦋 . Remember to find joy where you currently are! ☀️

11/10/2023, 5:52:29 PM

🗣️ Real talk while using the season of fall as an example. 🍁 . This past year especially it has been hard to let go of “non-menopause Heather.” This season I have dealt with so many symptoms from hormones being unbalanced, endo pains, and not being able to run/workout like I used to. . It has taken me a LONG TIME, but I have finally learned to accept where I am and very excited to grow into NEW opportunities! 🦋 . I challenge you to EMBRACE CHANGE and go after even greater things! ☀️💛

11/3/2023, 8:12:04 PM

The time has come to share more about my journey! 🦋💛⏸️ . It was hard to let go of my heatherrunsforcoffee/heatherrunsforjoy page but sometimes life makes you do things you don’t want to do to go after GREATER things! . Thanks friends for being you and inspiring me when I have struggled! ❤️

Now that my toe trauma is finally all healed, I got back in the pool. It was slow, it was casual, but it felt right. It also felt right to have raccoon eyes once again 🤣 2024 you won’t see any Ironman branded races from me as weddings are expensive. But there are some local Tris I am thinking of jumping into and some runs I’ve been wanting to try. There are two races for sure I am eyeing- but more on that once I’ve actually signed up! #triathlete #swimbikerun #endoathlete #im703 If you need a laugh on what my toe looks like, Sam described it perfectly. “Remember in the ‘Haunting at Bly Manor’ when they lose their faces? This one deserves its own post. Mountain biking in the Dolomites. Oh my goodness. What a ride. We chose a route called 5 Rifugi which goes over a couple mountain passes and five mountain huts. Although these huts seemed more of luxury resorts!! 50km and nearly 2000m of VM later we survived the loop. It was the most beautiful bike ride I’ve ever done and also the most challenging. It’s made me excited to explore what I may be able to do on the mountain bike going forward and makes me more excited to get a gravel bike! #mountains #mountainbike #trailriding #triathlete #triathlon #ironman #ironmantraining #swimbikerun #womenfortri #womenwhotri #livefeisty #endoathlete #fightingendometriosis #endostrong #endowarrior #itriforthosewhocant

Le saga of the toe continues! Last week I had the nail if my big toe permanently removed due to collateral damaged or the incident that occurred at Honu 70.3 back in June. A week after we got home from the race, I managed to break that toe that I hurt coming out of the swim. Doctors think I had a hairline fracture that was just waiting to be hit worse. Don’t ask me to explain science I don’t understand, but we decided to completely remove the nail and to do a permanent removal to prevent any future issues. I hear elite runners have their toenails removed, does this mean I’m elite now? 🤣 #im703 #triathlete #swimbikerun #endoathlete
