I’m not a fan of cleaning old silver coins so they’re shiny as they lose their age and patina. However this Edward II penny was so encrusted with corrosion , a gentle clean with a fibre glass pencil and deionised water was definitely worth doing as I’m sure you’ll agree from the before and after shots - love the portrait detail you can now see, an English medieval king from 700 years ago staring back.
