Another gorgeous afternoon spent at @petalprojectbrighton celebrating Beltane 🔥🧡🌈🙌💫 Wonderful to share the stage with Kesem Storytelling wearing her musical hat “Witch and the Bear” and @miss._.mathias Miss Mathias. 🌼🌸 Beautiful Beltane 🌸🌼 Yesterday we were blessed to hold not one but two sessions of this sabbat gathering! We all sat and introduced ourselves, discovering similarities with others' stories. It's such a nice way to start the day, learning why people are on this path of learning. We opened the circle to protect all our work and stop those mischievous energies from causing chaos, followed by a lovely meditation that brought messages and visions to everyone. As always we did some information around what the sabbat means, learning little bits of what Beltane is and some of its origins, things to do at this time and ideas on how to decorate our altar. We also did some Journal Prompts written especially for this sabbat. This was followed by making our own Maypole Wands. Using things that Steph had at home and some sticks that had fallen, to show you can resource things to make some powerful magic tools without going far. We then made some lovely Beltane altar cards too. There was so much talking, laughter and naughtiness! A group of lovely people all connecting together in the most amazing way. Beltane is a festival traditionally celebrated on May 1st, and is associated with fertility, growth, and the renewal of the earth. Ritual candles can be used to enhance the spiritual aspects of Beltane and to focus energy and intention. Here's how to use a ritual candle for Beltane: 1. Choose a candle that symbolizes growth, fertility, or renewal. Green and pink candles are commonly used for Beltane. 2. Set up your sacred space. Clear your space of any distractions or clutter, and decorate your altar with seasonal flowers and other symbols of fertility and growth. Light incense to cleanse the space. 3. Hold the candle in your hands and meditate on your intention for the ritual. Visualize the energy you wish to bring into your life or the area you are focusing on. 4. Light the candle, and repeat a mantra or prayer that aligns with your intention. Focus on the flame of the candle and let it guide your thoughts and intentions. 5. Hold this focus for as long as you feel necessary, and then blow out the candle to signify the end of the ritual. 6. Dispose of the candle wax in the appropriate way. Some people bury the remains of the candle in a garden or flowerbed, while others wrap it in a biodegradable material and discard it in the trash. Remember, the power of the ritual comes from your intention and focus. Use this ritual candle to help manifest your desires and bring growth and renewal into your life.
