Crystal the Anthurium crystallinum has shed most of her leaves from last year, but grew out 5 new ones during the past months 🥰💚🙌🏼 . I find her to be one of the easier Anthuriums in my collection. I transplanted some Meadow Rue seedlings into my garden yesterday. I LOVE this plant. The Latin name is Thalictrum rochebrunianum, this one has single pink purple flowers. I said this before but I think the double blooming Thalictrum delavayi 'Hewitt's Double' is more popular and I grew this one before as well but T. rochebrunianum is way prettier than the double T. delavayi in my opinion and the double T. delavayi didn't last in my garden but I've been having T. rochebrunianum for several years now (maybe 5-6 years or more) and it actually self seeds, too! So even though it looks delicate, it's actually quite tough, you need to give them half shade and it might be a bit picky about where it wants to grow though. It gets quite tall, like 6ft with the flower stems (the plant with just foliage is like 2ft) and you might need some supports, I do add a stake with this one plant because where it's planted is at a corner path and I always run into the flowers if I don't stake it but otherwise, it's quite sturdy. Since it gets tall, you might want to plant something a bit smaller plant in front of this plant, so it can naturally hold the flower stems. It's not hard to grow from the seeds however it takes a bit to be bushy and like other perennials, it might take 2-3 years or more to produce flowers. But eve without flowers, the foliage is very decorative and beautiful! These planters were definitely a hit last weekend at the Potter's market in Galway. I always wonder what people must think of my pitch at markets like this one. I certainly have a variety of things on offer. At the moment I have three distinct ranges that I make consistently. I love them, I love making them and I GET to keep making them because, crucially, they sell! Then my ongoing experiments always yield new finishes, kernels of new ideas and new ranges yet to be fully realised. So I'll always have a handful of new pieces, testing the waters to see how well they're received. On top of mugs, bowls, jugs, cups and tumblers I'll have hanging planters and vases in this glaze and similar oceanic coloured glazes. I'm literally obsessed with these. But between everything it's a lot! I try to set everything up so there are clear sections but it's not always that easy to do. I think I will always be the kind of potter that works with multiple ranges. But I sometimes think how neat and tidy my stall would look if I was only able to stick to one collection. So, my question to you is - Is variety the spice of life?

Air plant tip of the day 😁🌿🙌🏼 When in bloom, you can still water your Tilly, but try to avoid getting the flowers wet, this will prolong the bloom period and also prevent fungal issues, I do so by spraying just the leaves or dip the plant in a shallow bowl so the water doesn't get to the bloom. .
