This was me yesterday afternoon, really excited to start a new book, but so exhausted that I could not for the life of me make a decision 😂🥴🙃 Tried again this morning and settled on Nestlings by Nat Cassidy. Definitely in the mood for a good horror novel. 😁

✨Currently Reading✨ - A Clash of Kings (George R.R.Martin): Still reading this (it’s been forever lol), but I’ve only got about 110 pages left so I will finish it very soon 😊 - Flowers For Algernon (Daniel Keyes): I started this book a couple days ago and while I’m only 50 pages in, I think it’s going to be fantastic (and probably heartbreaking) 🥺💛 - The Drowning Woman (Robyn Harding): I picked this one up yesterday and was immediately hooked. I didn’t get very far because I started it later in the day, but I think this one is likely to go quickly for me. It feels like it will be unputdownable 🤩 I’m trying to cut back on caffeine (pray for me 🥴😂) so I’ve been drinking more tea and less coffee (though decaf is definitely in play 🙃) and this sort of random combination of Earl Grey, Rooibos Chai, Rosehip, and Hibiscus, with honey and couple packets of True Orange is so delicious (and the most beautiful deep red color) 🥰 Have a lovely day, my friends! ☺️💛

This bank holiday might not have been what we hoped but the perfect weather for a good new read is finally here! Grab a sun lounger and make the most of An Eye For An Eye being on sale! Check the link in my bio to get your copy today! 📚📖 . . . "Utterly captivating from start to finish!" "The type of book you won't be able to put down!" A brand new British Crime Mystery following the career of Private Investigator Iris Carter. A gripping read from a debut author, with plenty of twists and turns. The threat? Dominic Mason, the son of a billionaire property tycoon, is identified as the victim of an abduction. The catch? The reporter of the crime lays all of their cards on the table – the abduction is reported in advance, for a future date, and the location named. The puzzle? The obfuscation surrounding the threat against Dominic is compounded by reports of a bank heist and a car bomb, purported for the same day as the abduction. With limited resources, the London Metropolitan Police reach out to former detective, turned Private Investigator, Iris Carter to lead the investigation into the supposed abduction. Can Iris negotiate past trauma, frayed relationships and a complex plot against London’s biggest up-and-coming celebrity to unearth the truth before it’s too late? . . . . . . . #authorsofinstagram #bookstagram #booklover #debutnovel #crimenovel #crimethriller #bookishmoment #bookspiration #reading #writersofig #writersofinstagram #authorsofig #bookstagrammer #bookclub #bookcover #bookaholic #bookblogger #bibliophile #sale #kindlesale #limitedtimedeal

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ | Memoir | Essential Read 🚨 !!!!! ❤️‍🔥 Personal Rating: While I did not cry in H Mart, I bawled on the plane I was on while finishing the last chapters. It’s a yes from me dawg. 🍸 Best paired with: Your favorite coping mechanism and banchan (&/or your favorite nostalgic soup - IFYKYK) 👯‍♀️ Who is this for? Would rec to mom, dad, sisters, basically anyone with a soul. ‼️TW: Death of a parent and grief. This 2021 memoir by Michelle Zuaner who, by the way, is a singer & guitarist of Japanese Breakfast, is a beautiful expansion of her 2019 essay that was published in The New Yorker. While I do not want to give away too much, I will say that this book is about a mother-daughter relationship centered around Korean culture & food, with the food being the thread that ties the stories and memories together. While I was absolutely wrecked by this read, I loved it and will recommend to basically anyone who has an interest in memoirs, wants to read something different, or just flat out needs something GOOD. While I did have to take several breathers to really process all of her beautiful thoughts and emotions this is an essential read for me. Thank you, Michelle, for crafting a book that is heartbreaking as it is comforting and letting us in on your exploration of grief and cultural connection. Your emotional honesty put me over the edge in the best way and made room for evaluation into my own heart and identity.🩷 Xx . . . #bookishmoment #memoir #bookstagrammer #bookwormlife #readersgonnaread #booknerd #cryinginhmart #bookishreels #booksbooksbooks #bestsellingbooks #michellezauner

Ktoś to w ogóle czyta? Is this thing on? Bo w sumie czytać to czytam, i to nawet całkiem sporo. . . . . . #bookstagrampl #bookstagrammersunite #bookstagrampolska #polskiebookstagramy #bookstafeatures #plantoniaapartments #plantonia #plantoniakrakow #bookishfeatures #explorecracow #hotelrooms #bookishmoment #readersofig #readingismagic #thetravelingbookworm #readmorebooks #booksonbooksonbooks #bookstafeatures #readingmoments #kochamczytać #czytamwszędzie #igreads #readingeverywhere #travelreads #vscogrid

I finished my readathon last night (with this beautiful sunset as the backdrop 🌅) 😊 I didn’t quite make my goal of 38 hours over the week, but that’s okay. I finished a book at about 7:40pm and felt like if I kept reading I would just be forcing it without enjoying it, so I decided it was time to be done. But it was a lot of fun and I will definitely do this type of readathon again! From Monday-Friday I read 1,359 pages and for a total of 2,151 minutes (35.85 hours). Welp, look at me now 💅🏻 Jestem jedynaczką, w najbliższej rodzinie nie miałam przez długi, długi czas dzieci znacznie młodszych od siebie.

There are some obvious things that are great about being a Bookstagrammer. Being in community with other readers being the top of the list of course (love you all 💛☺️). But one unexpected benefit that I’ve noticed over the years is how much more often I pause to see the beauty in little everyday moments. I used to do this to some extent even before I became a Bookstagrammer, but I do it even more now (since I’m always on the hunt for a good photo 😂☺️). Sunlight on a book, a frothy cup of coffee, cozy firelight, a sunset that matches the cover of my current read. Noticing these little moments and capturing them in a photo makes my heart happy. Bookstagram has helped me to romanticize my life, and I love that so much. And being able to share these moments of bookish beauty with like-minded readers is so wonderful. It wouldn’t be the same without you all. Thank you so much for being here! 💛🫶🏻 . . . . #bookstagrammer #readersofbookstagram #bookishcommunity #bookstacommunity #bookishfriends #bookfriends #bookfriendsarethebestfriends #bookishbeauty #bookishmoments #bookishmoment #bookmoment #bookmoments #bookishvibe #readingvibes #cozyreading #cozyreader #cozybookstagram #bookishlife #bookishlifestyle #cozyreadingmoments #cozymoment #bibliophiles #bibliophilesunite #bookishphoto #bookishaesthetic #bookaesthetic #bookaesthetics #readingaesthetic #readingphotos #bookpages

🗓️ My January #themedead was Year of Yes by Shonda Rhimes which was also one of my Libby holds. I liked it and have always admired Shonda Rhimes. I haven’t watched Grey’s Anatomy in years but used to love it. I enjoyed a #bookishmoment reading the passage in Year of Yes about how Rhimes wrote thr final scene for Meredith and Cristina and chose the music for them to dance it out. I then had to look i #the scene up on YouTube and appreciated seeing it after hearing everything that went into it. Are you a Grey’s Anatomy fan? #yearofyes #greysanatomy #bookstagram

No dobrze. * książkę czytałam we współpracy z Tanią Książką *

✨Weekly Wrapup: Jan. 8th - 14th✨ Hi everyone! Welcome to my weekly wrap-up! I’m switching things up a bit this week and doing a carousel post instead of a video. Instead I have a plan to bring you a coffee and currently reading video next week. I think it’d be more phone to talk about what I’m reading, not just those I’ve finished. Do you have a preference of which you’d rather see? With temperatures below zero half of this week I’ve had a lot of time to read or listen to audiobooks and finished 5 books. ✨Compass Points by Jillian Witt. Loved this one SO much! Full review coming ✨Emily Wilde’s Encyclopedia of Faeries by Heather Fawcett. Also really enjoyed. Book 2 is coming out Tuesday! ✨House of Sky & Breathe by Sarah J Maas. I’m so in love with this world and can’t wait for the 30th! ✨Cursed Cocktails by SL Rowland. Loved!! Full review coming as well. ✨The Unmaking of June Farrow by Adrienne Young. Unique time hopping. Looking forward to our #chaptersandchats Bookclub meeting next week to discuss. Compass Points and Cursed Cocktails are easily going on my favorites of the year, and it’s only January! 😊 What’s the weather like where you are? Real talk — have you ever been completely taken aback by how much you’ve related to a moment in a book? I had this experience recently while reading The Seven Storey Mountain, a memoir by Trappist monk Thomas Merton. Unlikely as it sounds, I share a strikingly similar formative moment with Merton: a simple moment of peace in a nearly-empty basilica in Rome (swipe for a pic! It’s one of my favorite places in the world) — Santa Sabina, a basilica built in the fifth century. From the book: “And that day in Santa Sabina, although the church was almost entirely empty, I walked across the stone floor mortally afraid that a poor devout old Italian woman was following me with suspicious eyes… …However, I prayed and then looked about the church, and went into a room where there was a picture by Sassoferrato, and stuck my face out a door into a tiny, simple cloister, where the sun shone down on an orange tree. After that I walked out into the open feeling as if I had been reborn… …I sat outside, in the sun, on a wall and tasted the joy of my own inner peace, and turned over in my mind how my life was now going to change, and how I would become better.” I had an experience not unlike Merton’s when studying abroad in Rome. My brother and sister-in-law were visiting, and I was due to meet up with them at a park beside Santa Sabina. I arrived early, so ducked into the church while waiting for them. Just like when Merton visited, Santa Sabina was empty or nearly so — rare, for a historic church in one of the most visited cities in the world. Rare, for me after spending three months constantly in the company of other students and travelers. Rare, for the singular feeling of peace that washed over me, a complete and utter calm, contentment, and settledness. Nothing momentous happened that day, and yet it’s a moment in time that stuck with me. A core memory that I carry in my heart. To think that someone had a strikingly similar experience, decades before me, who carried it in his heart and then spilled it onto the page which then found its way to me… this is why I read and write.
