There’s a special quality in Pitch Perfect that makes me go back to it time and time again. It’s not the greatest movie in the world. Not by any stretch of the imagination. But it has that special sauce that makes it endlessly rewatchable. The story is simple. A group of college girls form an a cappella group. The movie shows their year-long journey to try and win nationals. There’s more to it, of course. Friendships, romance, butting of heads. But it’s mostly just an enjoyable little musical. The thing is, I’ve seen it enough times now that I notice the background jokes that are just as good as any of the dialogue. Chloe making out with a guy off to the side while everyone else is singing. Unicycle guy being called Unicycle in the end credits. The Treblemakers hanging out in the hot tub, just the dudes. That sort of stuff makes me laugh whenever I watch Pitch Perfect. This is one of those movies I could throw on any time and enjoy. There’s nothing inherently wrong with it, even if it could have been better. It’s fun and light and sometimes that’s all you need. Sorry about the cover song. The Out-Laws wasn’t a great comedy film. I feel like it was a wasted potential on stars such as Pierce Brosnan. The protagonist was rather annoying in my opinion. I think it would work better as a sitcom but as a film it was poorly written. I also noticed that the stars who played the protagonist’s parents both appeared on an episode of Princesses. I watched the film "Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates" yesterday. I liked it! Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates is a fun hilarious comedy filled with a snappy, raunchy wit and some hysterical shocking gags. The awesome script by Andrew Jay Cohen & Brendan O'Brien has a lot of heart in between its rowdiness and can actually be quite sweet. It tells a story about finding yourself, growing up, love, and family. The film has some great performances from Zac Efron, Adam Devine, Aubrey Plaza, and Anna Kendrick. They all have such delightful chemistry. The film has some really good supporting performances from Sugar Lyn Beard, Sam Richardson, Stephen Root, Stephanie Faracy, Alice Wetterlund, Mary Holland, and Kumail Nanjiani. The cinematography is well done by Matthew Clark and accompanied by a wonderful score from Jeff Cardoni. The film has some solid art direction, set decoration, costume design, and production design. It's also nicely edited by Jonathan Schwartz & Lee Haxell. Sin embargo, un golpe en la cabeza durante un asalto la transporta a un mundo donde su vida es una comedia romántica y ahora debe averiguar cómo llegar al final. 🎥Con un montón de referencias a diferentes obras del género, ésta película es perfecta para quiénes aman las romcom y para quiénes las odian. Porque además de hacer uso de las referencias a efectos cómicos, también crítica muchas de las mismas por su irrealidad. Por otro lado, el mensaje final es muy positivo y también cae un poco en la ternura característica de las comedias románticas. 🎥A niveles visuales es muy linda, y la BSO es icónica cuando menos. She takes the women of the group out of their comfort zone of traditional arrangements and into a world of amazing harmonic combinations in a fight to the top of college music competitions. My thoughts: After reading Rebel Wilson's new memoir, I am inspired to go back and watch her movies! This one is a classic and would be "pitch perfect" if not for some dated, rude comments about the attractiveness of the women in the Bellas.
