“Impermanence is a principle of harmony. When we don’t struggle against it, we are in harmony with reality.” - Pema Chödrön I’ve been reflecting on the idea of impermanence recently and how truly leaning into this helps me to move through life with greater ease, emotional stability and resilience to life’s happenings. Truly understanding that everything is in a state of constant flux and change means that I expect and accept change, which really changes my experience of it. In yoga, the concept of impermanence relates to Aparigraha (one of the Yamas, or ethical guidelines, concerned with non-possessiveness). By truly understanding that all things, including material possessions, relationships, internal states and external circumstances are in a constant state of change, we can reduce suffering caused by trying to cling onto transient things, allowing ourselves to flow with change instead of resisting against it. Here’s a little bit about Tash: I am a Yoga and Meditation teacher specialising in restful relaxation practices to support your mental health. I teach Hatha, Restorative, Yin, Slow Flow & Healing Yoga. Yoga has always been a big part of my life. This stems largely from my background and the culture I have grown-up with. Being from a South-Indian and Indonesian background has provided me with a deeper understanding of Yoga and Ayurvedic practices. I have five years of experience teaching in a range of studios in London and Leeds, and have completed further trainings in Yoga for Stress, Burnout, Anxiety, and Depression. This background helps me to create restful and nurturing relaxation practices embedded in authentic Yoga philosophy. I love Yoga because it has helped me find a way back to myself when I was completely lost - both physically and emotionally. I used Yoga & Meditation to heal from a painful childhood and I am keen to share some of these very simple, yet profound practices with my students. My classes are gentle, meditative, and relaxing with an increased focus on mental health. Whilst we completely understand that some lateness is unavoidable, we do recommend that you try to be on time, if not early, for your both your Studio & Online classes! Here are some reasons why: Maximise your class time: Arriving on time or early ensures that you get the full benefit of the class. You won't miss any warm-up exercises or important instructions from the instructor, allowing you to engage fully in the practice from start to finish. Safety: Our classes often involve specific warm-up routines to prepare your body for the practice ahead. Being on time allows you to participate in these warm-ups, reducing the risk of injury during the more intense parts of the class. Consideration for the Instructor and other Participants: Arriving on time means that the class isn't disrupted by late arrivals. Equipment may need to be sorted out and if it's a busy class we may have to move other participants to find you a spot! Maintaining Momentum: Our classes often have a structured flow, with each segment building on the previous one. Coming in late can disrupt the momentum of the class and make it harder for you to catch up and fully engage with the exercises. Stress Reduction: Rushing to make it to class on time can increase stress levels, which is counterproductive to the relaxation and mental health benefits that our classes can provide. Being punctual allows you to start the class in a calm and focused state of mind. Accountability and Commitment: Making the effort to arrive on time demonstrates your commitment to your goals and to the class itself. We are delighted to let you know that we will be running another 6 week beginners’ Introduction to Yoga course starting next month! 😀✨💫 This course will be taught in a small group by our wonderful teacher, Liz, and will take place on Sundays at 3-4pm, beginning on Sunday 23rd June. This course has been specially designed for those who are new to yoga, or are in the early stages of their yoga journey. The course provides a comprehensive introduction to the foundations of a flowing yoga practice, including key postures, pranayama (breathwork) and a basic introduction to yogic philosophy. In each 60 minute class, you will explore a handful of foundational poses which are repeated and built upon until you move through a whole class. This approach enables you to learn and repeat the most commonly practiced poses, gaining in confidence, developing your awareness of correct alignment and building upon your skills during each class. By the end of the course, you will have: 🧘‍♀️ Learnt the most commonly practiced yoga postures, including seated poses, standing poses, backbends, balances, twists, along with sun salutations and yogic breathing 🧘‍♀️ Explored the correct alignment, enabling you to practice poses safely 🧘‍♀️ Learnt how to modify poses to suit your unique body 🧘‍♀️ Built strength, flexibility and confidence 🧘‍♀️ Gained a basic understanding of the benefits of yoga for health and wellbeing 🧘‍♀️ Received a basic introduction to yoga philosophy and the history of yoga 🧘‍♀️ Learnt new skills to enhance your physical and mental wellbeing 🧘‍♀️ Connected with a small group of likeminded people and enjoyed a valuable learning experience for your self-development and wellbeing 🧘‍♀️ Developed the confidence to attend mixed level classes 🧘‍♀️ Had the opportunity to ask questions about your yoga practice and receive support 🧘‍♀️ Developed the foundations from which to make yoga a life long practice Click the link in our bio for details and to book! 😀

‘Reset and Rebalance’ Sunday 26th May 5-6:30pm Emily Tarrant and Sarah Garg This event provides the perfect opportunity to take a pause, reset and re-balance. We will begin with some breathwork before moving into a number of different guided meditation practices, resulting in the mind slowing down and placing the body into a state of relaxation. This acts as great preparation for moving into a deeply restorative crystal bowl sound bath. What is a sound bath? Sound baths typically involve participants lying down comfortably while a trained practitioner plays various instruments such as crystal singing bowls, chimes, or tuning forks. These instruments produce sounds and vibrations that resonate throughout the body, affecting both the physical and energetic systems.
