🌕 A very dear friend of mine sends me pictures of the moon as she grows into a Full Moon and disappears as to the Dark Moon. 🌕 Upon us is one of my favorite full moons, the Harvest Moon. This is a Time to let go of things that is no longer needed in your life, no longer serves you, and time to heal yourself. 🌕 Last year I shared a ritual with close friends that were interested in my practice. As we had so much to feast, and then shared our moments to meditate and soon after perform a ritual under the light of the Harvest Moon. 🌕 For this ritual, you will need leaves that you can find Outside (especially at this moment😉), a marker, a fireproof saucer, and a lighter. If you have the space to do this, I usually like to perform this under the light of the Moon where I start my grounding and centering and lead a meditation. 🌕 Afterwards, think of everything you want to let go of, and you write each item on different leaves. Once ready, you set these on fire in the fireproof saucer. You visualize each item leaving your life, simply walking away and never to return. 🌕 Keep a journal and in one year exactly, see if what you burnt away really left your life. If it did, think of how it benefited you. 🌒🌓🌔🌕🌖🌗🌘 Let's talk about Moon phases and it's influence on Magick workings 🌒 Moon phases, if you are meticulous about it, will be beneficial and influence the type of work you are currently doing 🌓 But not everybody follows this type of system, I even have to confess, that sometimes I just need something done and I will try my best to follow the phases but sometimes, I just do it no matter what phase 🌔 Just like going with the planetary hours, depending on the time of day, you will be attracting planetary influences as well. So if you actually want to give that big punch to a spell, you have to be patient and follow the moon cycles along with the planetary influence hourly 🌕 But this will come with researching and reading... Learn from different practices. 🕯 These are all the books I started reading when I was 11 years old. They are completely different from what I am reading today. But I got the basics of what Witchcraft was. I learned about herbs, powders, incense, oils, the influence of planets, runes, different divination tools, and the list goes on. 🕯 As a Witch, we never stop learning. We never get to know everything there is out there. We will always remain a student of the Craft. 🕯 But get the information from reliable sources. Do the work. 🔥 Imbolc, Candlemas, the Feast of flames, Brigid's Festival of Lights and Life, whatever you call it, it is the midpoint between Yule,the Winter Solstice, and Ostara, the Spring Equinox. Imbolc means "in the belly" referring to a pregnant sheep. Mother Earth quickening with new life. There is stirring in her belly. 🔥 During this Festival we celebrate the return of the Sun and the death of winter. You may decorate your altars with gold, red, and white candles. It is a time to celebrate fertility, fire to represent life and the Sun returning and cleansing your home. 🔥 Offerings can be anything dairy, like milk, cheese, butter or even simply baking fresh bread. If you have a special place outdoors you may leave it overnight, as Imbolc begins at sunset today until tomorrow evening. You may also give offerings to animals as they are slowly coming back to life after nesting and being in darkness. One of my favorite offerings, are seeds. It'll feed the birds along with the squirrels as nature reawakens from Winter's slumber. 🔥 A divination ritual you can perform this evening, is fire scrying(I've already put a post up on how to perform indoor fire scrying safely). If divination is not your thing, you can perform a Brigid's cross. In my opinion, it represents an offering but also protection for your home and property. Each fold and knot has a specific intention. But you do what you feel is right for you. 🔥 What do you do on this special evening? 🌕Beaver Moon🌕 🌙 For Native Americans, this represented a time to set traps before water banks froze to ensure fur supply for winter. 🌙 3 magickal settings are happening simultaneously: 1. The Thinning of the Veil (from an astrological point of view- the mid point from the Autumn Equinox and the Winter's Solstice). You may or may not celebrate this and simply keep it on October 31. In my opinion, it makes more sense with the mid point than an actual calendar date. But to each its own. 2. Full Moon 3.
