Mieszkałam kiedyś 5 lat w Atenach, więc wszystko co wiąże się z Grecją, jej kulturą, mitologią i dziedzictwem będzie miało szczególne miejsce w moim sercu. Boki talii są złocone, karty są połyskujące a przewodnik został wydany na papierze kredowym. Zawiera ponad 160 stron znaczeń i archetypow w pozycji prostej i odwróconej oraz 3 przykładowe rozkłady. Prawdziwa sztuka. Greckie bóstwo na każdej karcie? Czemu nie. Mamy tu znane postacie ale również te mniej popularne, a ich zaletą jest to, że nie musisz kończyć na przeczytaniu opisu do rozkładu, ale możesz nadal uczyć się o bóstwie, pracować z nim, medytować. Praca z Tarotem nie kończy się na wyciągnięciu karty i jej zinterpretowaniu. Polega na umieszczeniu wskazówek w działaniu fizycznym i zintegrowaniu ich ze swoim życiem. Zatem praca z powiązanym bóstwem może stać się fizyczną manifestacją twojego czytania, dając Ci coś namacalnego do odkrycia daleko poza samymi kartami. The Justice card (seen here in eleven different depictions from some of my very favorite decks - because, you know, it's the 11th card in the Tarot and all) is my personal Tarot Card of the Year. What is a Tarot Card of the Year? It's the tarot card (Major Arcana only) assigned to you via your birthdate and the current year (and a lil simple math) that provides deeper insight into the lessons, tests, experiences and challenges you will personally face over the course of the next year. This card can provide an excellent anchor within your tarot spreads and can inspire several tarot journaling sessions throughout the year as you assess and reassess what this card and its themes mean to you as your circumstances shift and evolve. What was that about math tho? Lemme show ya! Step One: Add the month and day of your birth to the current year. We'll use me as an example and that would look like this: 10 + 20 + 2024 = 2054 Step Two: Reduce that number further by breaking it down by digit: 2 + 0 + 5 + 4 = 11 Please note that you can continue reducing until you have a single digit, but it isn't necessary. Since this is only applicable to Majors you'll want your number to be 0 - 22 (Fool - The World). If your Step Two reduces to a three digit number, reduce further until you have a double digit or single digit instead. Step Three: Find your corresponding Major Arcana card and ✨Boom✨ you've got your Tarot Card of the Year! I told ya it was easy. A thing I find kind of interesting is that 2024 is a Karma year (2 + 0 + 2 + 4 = 8) and is represented by the Strength card. However, prior to my beloved RWS deck, Strength and Justice were switched - with Justice being in the 8th position and Strength taking the 11th. In many ways I feel like this is going to be a doubly strong karmic year for me. I'm a little intimidated but I feel like I've put in the work so hopefully I'm safe 😂 I would love to know YOUR Tarot Card of the Year in the comments! The Spolia Tarot is an indie collage tarot collaboration between artist Jen May and tarot reader Jessa Crispin. Originally launched as a Kickstarter, it took three years to develop and there has only ever been that single edition. Which is a pity, as it is a much-loved Tarot. I must admit this is a tarot it took me a while to love. I very nearly gave it away, but am very happy I changed my mind. The Spolia uses images from history, alchemy, mysticism, mythology and the natural world to create a colourful deck layered with meaning. Care was taken to use the flowers, crystals and stones, animals and astrological associations associated with each specific card. In its structure, the Spolia resembles the Fiorentine Minchiate – effectively a kind of sixteenth century expansion deck. Is it just me? It seems to me that the quirky Oracle Belline created in the mid nineteenth century is having a bit of a moment. I’m seeing it everywhere, and have particularly enjoyed discovering it via Serge Pirotte’s @serge_pirotte daily readings. It’s also just possible - although she rarely gives anything away - that the multi-talented Laetitia Barbier @laetitia.cartomancy may have some intel about this adorable little deck. Such as that it may be a fake, after all. Given the illustrations are so modern-looking that wouldn’t be too much of a shock. Perhaps less well known is the Oracle’s big sister - the Tarot Belline. The Tarot Belline is another eccentric deck hand drawn by the same author: Jules Charles Ernest Billaudot, also known as Magus Edmond. The Tarot Belline blends characteristics of the Tarot de Marseille with the ideas of Etteilla and other 18th and 19th century occultists, incorporating kabbalistic and astrological influences. These interesting cards are from the ancient Egyptian-themed Vintage 1950s Deutsches Original Tarot. According to Tarot Garden’s website, a wonderful resource if you’ve never come across it, this deck was originally published in the 1920’s. This artist of this playing card sized German Tarot was Hans Schubert. There were no instructions in the box, although there would have been originally. The borders of the cards contain astrological symbols, as well as upright and reversed meanings. The pips aren’t illustrated. Sadly I know little else about this deck.
