From June-December, I visit the local farmers market every Sunday morning. I love heading out early in the morning when the town is quiet, the air is still a bit cool, and the produce is as fresh as can be. It truly is one of my favorite weekly adventures. If you are fortunate enough to have such markets near you, please support them if possible. Not everyone can shop there all the time, but if and when you can, please do. Your local farmers work hard to bring you the freshest, most nutrient dense and delicious food to feed your family. There is a definite difference between the produce you’ll find in the supermarkets and the farmers markets. Feed yourself and your family as well as you possibly can. You will likely find and array of fresh fruits and vegetables that you can’t find elsewhere. I’m a chocoholic. When I saw this recipe for pudding made with avocado, I was skeptical. I made it today, hoping to get something healthier in my son’s diet. Not going to lie, it’s good! I spent three of my teen years working in a Jewish bakery. The owner was a Holocaust survivor. During my time there, I learned a lot about cakes, pastries and history….. a great education for a young person. One of my favorite treats there was the almond horns, so when I saw this recipe from @sivanskitchen for almond cookies, I had to try it.
