Toen ik me jaren geleden in duurzaamheid ging verdiepen, vond ik dat mijn keuzes súper tijdloos moesten zijn. In mijn fast fashion periode volgde ik tenslotte alle trends, resulterend in een kast met enorme impact, constante koophonger, onrust en onzekerheid. Mijn beeld van ‘tijdloos’ beperkte zich in de beginfase van mijn duurzame reis tot basics, Scandinavisch minimalisme en de Parisienne stijl. Stijlinfluencers met één vaste stijl, ultieme rust in hun hoofd (althans, zo deden ze dat voorkomen 😉) en een kast die helemaal ‘af’ en future proof was: dat wilde ik ook. HAHA. Sara toch - zo ben ik helemaal niet. Stijl is zó persoonlijk. En laten we eerlijk zijn: als mens veranderen we continu. Gelukkig maar! Maar waarom verwachtte ik dan van mezelf dat mijn kast ooit perfect en ‘af’ ging zijn? Mijn stijl evolueert en dat besef heeft mij zoveel rust gegeven. Als je weet wat je mooi vindt - en dat weet ik best goed - is het natuurlijk helemaal oké als je je laat inspireren door je omgeving en zelfs door stijltrends. Als ze maar aansluiten bij wat jou gelukkig maakt: jouw expressie centraal, niet de buitenwereld of de behoefte om zogenaamd uniek of ‘lekker modisch’ te zijn of juist bij de groep te horen. Als je ze maar duurzaam kunt vinden en mate houdt. Natuurlijk blijft dat soms een uitdaging. Maar ik weiger om te streng voor mezelf te zijn. Dat heb ik vaak genoeg gedaan en als íets mijn motivatie beïnvloedt, is dat het wel. Life is a balancing act. So is your wardrobe. Ik word blij van echte ‘Sara’ finds. Zoals deze vintage jas met getekende psychedelische mannetjes (denk ik?). Hoewel ik mijn stijl tweak, is de basis inmiddels sterk. Is mijn stijl uniek? Welnee. Is het echt tijdloos? Ook vast niet. Maar het is ‘mij’ en evolueert met me mee. Quirky Suffolk 💕 The more I travel around Suffolk the more things I see that make me smile. The important question I asked myself when discovering these cottages was "I wonder what it's like to share a bedroom with your neighbour?" 😂 I'm becoming an expert on slow travel (yes that's a thing!) and it's not due to my age either! It's when you take your time and fully explore a place, to really enjoy and discover all it has to offer, and Suffolk is great for that! A bumper pack of scenes from a wander through the little lanes and around the elegant streets of Painswick, a beautiful Georgian town in the Cotswolds! Popular as a period film location, this peaceful town, with beautiful buildings made from mellow Cotswold stone, is a delight to visit. The beautiful Norman church of St Mary, in the heart of the town, has 99 yew trees in its churchyard, a sight to be seen, as are the stunning views of the Gloucestershire countryside surrounding this pretty town! 🌿🏘🍂 I'm so sorry for the lack of replies, comments and interaction lately. Life is so busy at the moment with lots of family events happening, all around the same time, with lots to prepare. Gwiazdka w Lovely Lane Nadine Dorries To kolejne, czwarte już spotkanie z pielęgniarkami z Lovely Lane. Notabene myślałam, że ostatnie, ale okazuje się, że są kolejne tomy tylko nie wydane do tej pory w Polsce. Ale wracając do tematu, dziś pokrótce, (mam nadzieję) bezpospojlerwo opowiem o ‚Gwiazdce w Lovely Lane’. Na początku powiem, że dużo było wątków w tym tomie. Nie były one prowadzone równo: znikały na jakiś czas, a później znowu pojawiały się po kilku rozdziałach. Więc zacznę może od wątku pielęgniarek Beth i Pammy. Trochę miałam wrażenie, że te bohaterki są z boku. W sumie pojawiają się rzadziej niż w poprzednich tomach oraz ich wątek był mało angażujący. Szczerze mówiąc miałam nadzieję, że dowiemy się więcej, jak rozwiązał się wątek Victorii albo Dany. Na końcu trzeciego tomu były duży cliffanger z nimi związane a tu nic nowego się o nich nie dowiadujemy. Kolejnymi i chyba najciekawszymi były wątki zaniedbanego dziecka, które trafia do Lovely Lane oraz siostry Tappsy. Historia siostry Tappsy jest straszliwie smutna, w szczególności po koniec. Pomimo wielu smutku i cierpienia dość mocno zaangażowałam się. Jednakże miałam wrażenie, że najwięcej jest o siostrze Aileen. I tu ponownie: nie zainteresował mnie jej historia.Współczułam Aileen, że musi mierzyć się z apodyktyczną matką i samotnością, ale z drugiej strony wątek miłosny, który później się pojawił mnie totalnie nie ruszył. 🫣 Ogółem strasznie dłużyło mi się czytanie tej książki. Miałam wrażenie, że długo ją czytam a stron nie ubywa. Trochę już pod koniec męczyłam się czytając. A i dodam na koniec wbrew tytułowi jest mało o świętach. Podsumowując niestety chyba miałam inne oczekiwania względem tego tomu i mocno się zawiodłam. Chciałam poznać dalsze losy Dany oraz Teddy’ego i/lub rozwiązanie dylematu Victorii. I set aside this little drawing of a back hallway in Lovely Lane a few years ago and finally finished it up yesterday. It has been a while since I have worked on Rives BFK paper, I’ve been playing around with drafting film and muslin lately. I missed the fuzzy quality of this paper. They fed and watered us while we painted in the Oystercatcher. @rubyellenstearooms provided the best breakfast in town! We'll be back. @southern_airs have alot to paint in Carlingford. This lovely lane captured my eye with its wandering road and meandering river alongside. The lovely colour of the Azure shop almost matched the sky and the little yellow house at the top of the road was another pop of colour that complemented it perfectly. If I had more time I would have turned 180° and painted another one. SWIPE ➡️ Good morning! What a lovely Monday morning it is and we also had a lovely afternoon yesterday, things are looking up at last! Today's post is more scenes from our recent trip to the area surrounding Bath and some views of the gorgeous Manor Hotel in Castle Combe! I'd seen it many times in photographs but this was the first time I had seen it in person and it didn't disappoint. The setting it stands in is wonderful with walks through to the famous village. Hopefully one day, we'll stay there, how lovely that would be! 🌿🏨🌱 We were able to get lots done in the garden yesterday, still a mountain to climb, but we're slowly getting there. All our trees are starting to bud, with some of the blossom ones almost ready to flower. Today's post hopefully brightens up the day, coming from another lovely Somerset village, where nearly every cottage is painted the colour of primroses! With the beautiful blue sky, the wander around this pretty hamlet was just delightful. As it is located right next to the coast, you can walk down to the beach, although, sadly, we didn't have time on our visit.
