. 『ジョン・レノン 失われた週末』 The Lost Weekend: A Love Story 2022／アメリカ 94分 そもそもが、芸術家の考えることは奇抜でわからない。 タイトル「失われた週末」とはアルコール中毒に陥った人間の辿る道を描いた、レイ・ミランドのそれではない。 アーティストだけでなく政治にまで独自の思想を掲げていたジョン・レノンは当時、ニクソン政権に目の敵にされていた。 フラストレーションが溜まり肉体の浮気を繰り返すジョンに対してヨーコがとった手立ては、「愛人」を差し出すことだった。 妻指定の愛人、目の届く場所において管理する。 えーっ？😱 常人には理解できない行動だよ。 しかし、ジョンは差し出された愛人、中国系アメリカ人メイ・パンに次第に夢中になり、ニューヨークから2人で出て行ってしまう。 その期間18ヶ月。 それが「失われた週末」と呼ばれるヨーコとジョンの別居期間だ。 ヨーコに「ジョンの相手をしてやって」と言われたメイは最初こそ反発するが、機転のきく彼女はヨーコができなかった事務的作業や人と人との間に立って橋渡しをするネゴシエーターとしてもその能力を発揮していく。 長年疎遠になっていた元妻との間にできた一人息子ジュリアンとも会えるようになるジョン。 幼き日のジュリアンの可愛らしいことといったら💕 それだけではない。 ポール・マッカートニーやエルトン・ジョン、デビッド・ボウイなど当時の錚々たるメンバーがジョンの元に集まってくるようになる。 ジャムろうぜ！ のパートのなんとカッコ良いこと！ もちろん映像が残っているわけではない。物語はメイ・パンの撮った写真で繋ぎ、不足分はアニメで描写されるがそれがとても良くできている。 時にはジョンが描くイラストが公開され、彼の未来予想図も垣間見ることができる。 ジョン・レノンが凶弾に倒れてからこれまで私たちに知らされていたジョンの歴史とは、あくまでヨーコ・オノ目線でのジョンであったことを知る。 本人いないから仕方ない。 そこにはかなり都合の良いヨーコなりの脚色があっただろう。 “失われた週末“期間のジョンの制作活動はめざましく複数の楽曲を手がけ、エルトン・ジョンとのコラボ、デビッド・ボウイとアルバムを手がけ、どちらも全米首位を獲得した。 アーティストは自由な発想・自由なスタイルでいることが、より才能を羽ばたかせるんだね。 そんな意味でもヨーコにとっては「失われた週末」だったが、生き生きした表情の彼の写真からジョンの息を吹き返す充足した時間であったことを知るに足る。 Lost Weekend のままジョンがヨーコの元に戻ることなくメイと暮らしていたらポールと新たな曲作りにも励み、その結果ビートルズ再結成なんてことにもなり得たかもしれないと思うと震えたわ。 実際、ジョンはポールのもとを訪れる約束をしていたのだから。 しかし、理不尽なヨーコの呼び出しからニューヨークへ帰ったジョンは2度とメイの元へ戻ることはなかった。 あぁ、ヨーコってやっぱり催眠術でも使えるのかな。完全にジョンを支配してる感が強い。 あくまでメイ視点の物語。 インタビューに答えるジュリアンの背後からふいにメイが現れハグしながら語る場面は今作のクライマックスとも言える。 「シンシア(ジョンの元妻)やジュリアンと私がずっと親しくしてるなんて想像できなかったでしょう」 と誇らしげに語るメイの目には涙が。 これまで日陰者扱いだったメイのヨーコへのささやかな復讐とも取れるエンディングが待っている。 #映画好き #映画好きと繋がりたい #TheBeatles #JohnLennon #MayPang #LostWeekend #JulianLennon #ヨーコオノ #知らなかった週末 #10歳代で最初に同棲した相手がビートルズの1人なんて信じられる #ミックジャガー #ジョディフォスターも登場
The Lost Weekend, the story about May Pang and John Lennon during his most active period, around 1974. More than expected. 昼からめちゃ喋ってめちゃ食べてめちゃ飲んで久々臨界点、さして強くないのに人間テンション上がるとダメですね🙅 しばしクールダウン後その勢いで公開直後「失われた週末」 正直びっくりするくらい良かった。ジョンレノンがオノヨーコと一時的に別離し、彼女の指示で！その期間ジョンの公私を支えたメイパンが自ら語る物語。 編集もテンポ良く一方からとは言え当事者が語るスーパースターの日々は驚くほどリアリティがあり、またジョンが次第に夢中になった20才そこそこの彼女が如何に聡明で魅力的でこの期間更にスケール感のある人になって行くかのストーリーにも。あとこの時期ここまでポールマッカートニー始めビートルズのメンバーと距離が近かったんだという事実が彼女の写真や断片的な映像でリアルに語られる。 。。これ見ると別離期間中も決してコントロールの手を緩めないオノヨーコ御大の強烈さにまたノックアウトされますが😅正直当方も全肯定派ではないものの、70年代始めジョンと一緒のTVインタビュー見て彼女のエキセントリックな印象と全く異なる知的で洗練された佇まい、パーフェクトで美しい英語とジョンを上回るくらいに的確でスマートな受け答え見て、あージョンは真剣に彼女を尊敬して一緒に居たんだなと思ったことが。繰り返しこの映画観ると恐怖レベルのとんでもなさですが☠️ #johnlennon #lostweekend #maypang #ringostarr #paulmccartney #yokoono #movie #thebeatles #ジョンレノン #失われた週末 #映画 #dufduf
