Ju-on: The Curse (2000) 2/5 A teacher visits the house of one of his students after the boy goes missing, only to have a horrifying excuse for his absence from school. Ju-on: The Curse 2 (2000) 2.5/5 On his request, the sensitive sister of a real estate agent visits a house he intends to sell, only to cross paths with its resident curse. Ju On: The Grudge (2002) 3/5 A mysterious and vengeful spirit marks and pursues anybody who dares enter the house in which it resides. Ju-On: The Grudge 2 (2003) 3/5 As their curse spreads on, the ghosts find their chance to live once again through the pregnancy of a cursed woman. I think I prefer the Ju On films to The Ring they start off slower with Curse and Curse 2 pretty much being being one film split but then with the non sequencial chapters I like how the story in Grudge builds. 👀 MANGA JU-ON 👀 J'ai adoré la trilogie de films d'horreur " The Grudge ", version américaine, qui est celle qui m'a le plus traumatisée à vrai dire 😰. Combien de fois mon frère m'a fait peur avec le bruit de gorge de Kayako, combien de fois j'ai hurlé à cause de ça 🤣. C'est donc tout naturellement que je me suis tournée vers ces deux mangas. Je n'ai pas été déçue, j'ai bien retrouvé l'esprit de ce que j'avais aimé dans les films. Les dessins sont simples mais percutants. Il y a peu de dialogues mais les dessins suffisent à eux-mêmes pour certains événements. De quoi voir le fantôme de Kayako Saeki descendre les escaliers un paquet de fois. Également dans la boîte, les deux films sortis pour les 10 ans de la saga, dont l'un est confié à une réalisatrice. Hey everyone! What would happen if two of the most terrifying paranormal entities to come out of Japan were to square off against eachother in a fight over their intended prey? From visionary horror director Kōji Shiraishi, this question no longer remains unanswered with the release of his 2016 horror Sadako vs. Kayako. Synopsis: After having purchased an old VHS player from a shop, two university students(Natsumi and Yuri) discover a tape already inside it. When Natsumi watches it, they receive a phone call from the cursed spirit of Sadako, giving her only two days to live. With the help of an obscure psychic, Natsumi's only hope at survival is to pit Sadako against another spirit that haunts a local condemned house by the name of Kayako, and she's known for holding a grudge😉 I've been a fan of Asian cinema, specifically their horror genre, and although sometimes the acting may be, on occasion, over dramatic, there's no question that their storytelling, cinematography, and directing is amazing. A mashup of Henry Fuseli’s ‘The Nightmare’ and Takashi Shimizu’s ‘Ju-on: The Grudge’, painting, sculpture and film, Japanese and European horror sensibilities, the singular and the double, this sculpture hits us where it hurts in all the right ways. The blood stained mouth, that paralysis-inducing crouch, the triangulated gaze… Also helps that this tableaux was wrapped in a wall of Jess Johnson’s phantasmagorical drawings and a ‘dark energy’ quilt in Darren Knight Gallery’s presentation.
