Stavano nascendo i Led Zeppelin con cui ha raggiunto il successo internazionale. Page con i suoi celebri riff ha ispirato generazioni di chitarristi. Tra il 1969 e il 1982 i Led Zeppelin hanno pubblicato nove album, diventando uno dei gruppi più acclamati, influenti e con le maggiori vendite di tutti i tempi. I Led Zeppelin sono stati i progenitori dell'heavy metal e dell'hard rock, e il loro suono era in gran parte il prodotto del contributo di Page come produttore e musicista. PAGE AND PLANT - A collection of clips highlighting the 4 year run of Jimmy Page and Robert Plant in the 1990s. From 1994-1998, Page and Plant embarked on a world tour, which was sparked by the success of their live album “No Quarter.” This album was the product of an MTV Unplugged performance in 1994, which was dubbed Unledded. This union of past Zeppelin members gave fans a much needed spark they had been yearning for since the tragic death of John Bonham in 1980. Although some exceptional music was given to the fans with this partnership, controversy surrounded them at this time as one of the key members in John Paul Jones was left out. Even though JPJ wasn’t involved, the quintessential duo picked up right where they left off and we’re rocking arenas just as they did in their dominating run in the 70s. The pair were introduced after a gig at Birmingham’s teacher training college, where Plant was performing with his band Hobbstweedle. “His voice,” Jimmy would later recall, “Was too great to be undiscovered. I immediately thought there must be something wrong with him personality-wise, or that he had to be impossible to work with.” As it turned out, Plant was the perfect collaborator. Better still, he knew the ideal drummer for Page’s new band: his old bandmate John Bonham. Over the next decade, Led Zeppelin went from strength to strength, with Page, Plant, Bonham and Jones cementing themselves as masters of their respective instruments. While undoubtedly talented in their own right, the individual members of Led Zeppelin also knew how to support one another’s gifts, working together to make a brand of stadium rock far greater than the sum of its parts. Este álbum me parece una completa locura por la química entre Jimmy Page y John Bonham; sin duda alguna, la guitarra y la batería son lo que más sobresale en este álbum. Page, siendo el productor de casi todo el álbum, hace magia al lograr que las canciones funcionen con los diferentes instrumentos que utilizan, implementando estilos muy diferentes a los comunes en la grabación y ejecución de las canciones. De los cuatro álbumes titulados ‘Led Zeppelin’, este es mi segundo favorito, ya que me gusta mucho más este estilo de Led Zeppelin: más rápido y más fuerte en comparación con el estilo más lento y más influenciado por el blues o el folk. Siento que de esta manera imponen más y se hacen escuchar mucho mejor, y lo más importante, creo que así se nota de verdad el talento que estos cuatro artistas tienen. Tengo que mencionar que la portada del álbum me parece una locura. ———ENGLISH In this second Led Zeppelin album, we hear much more rock and less blues and folk. This album is absolutely mind-blowing to me due to the chemistry between Jimmy Page and John Bonham; without a doubt, the guitar and drums stand out the most on this album. Page, being the producer of almost the entire album, works magic in making the songs function with the various instruments they use, implementing styles that are very different from the usual when recording and playing. Of the four albums titled ‘Led Zeppelin’, this is my second favorite, as I much prefer this faster and stronger style of Led Zeppelin compared to the slower, more blues or folk-influenced style. I feel that this way they make a greater impact and are much more powerful, and most importantly, I think this approach truly showcases the talent of these four artists. Disfruto muchísimo este album yo ya que esta es una de mis bandas favoritas y este primer album aparte de que me dejo con una muy grata sorpresa ya que la verdad no esperaba que fuera así de bueno y ayuda a entender y a conocer mucho mas el sonido de esta banda. Creo que en este primer album Led Zeppelin deja super en claro el concepto de música que vienen a traer, este es un rock pesado pero con muchísima influencia en el blues y el folk, podemos escuchar a través del album como este se inspiró mucho en estos géneros. Creo que ninguna de las canciones de este album son como tal, blues, rock pesado o folk, sino que son esta gran mezcla de los tres, aveces escuchamos alguno de estos por si solos pero aveces los escuchamos mezclados entre si y es eso lo que le da ese toque tan Led Zeppelin. Esto no es una suposición mía, Jimmy Page ( guitarrista y fundador de la banda) lo ha dicho públicamente que el basa mucho de su producción y escritura de las canciones en artistas del genero blues. Pero aquí es donde entra la magia de Led Zeppelin, con la voz tan única de Robert Plant, el talento inigualable de Jimmy Page en la guitarra, la química de este y John Bohnam en la batería y por supuesto John Paul Jones en el bajo hacen que estas canciones se vuelvan únicas y estos se adueñen de su estilo. I had collected all of the “numbered” Led Zeppelin albums very early on in my vinyl collecting days. They are all classic must have records. Beyond that I try to grab up any of their non numbered albums whenever I see them at reasonable prices. Here are a few that I grabbed in the past couple of years: The Song Remains the Same was the live soundtrack album of the concert film of the same name that the band put out in 1976..tho it was mainly recorded in 1973. It’s not a bad record overall..but for a live Led Zeppelin album it’s honestly kind of weak. The band itself has said it wasn’t the best representation of them live. The issues may have been technical tho because they re-released the album in 2007..where they basically remastered but more like reconstructed each track.. and they all sound exponentially better. Coda was..well..the bands Coda. It was released two years after the band had broken up..and contains rejected tracks from the bands 12 year career. It’s a perfectly sweet record that was a great one for the band to end on. They're a band that I remember my brother listening to a lot when he was learning to play bass. On This Day 1998 (14.05.1998) Frank Sinatra dies of a heart attack in West Hollywood, California, at age 82. Francis Albert Sinatra (December 12, 1915 – May 14, 1998) was an American singer and actor who was one of the most popular and influential musical artists of the 20th century. He is one of the best-selling music artists of all time, having sold more than 150 million records worldwide. Born to Italian immigrants in Hoboken, New Jersey, Sinatra was greatly influenced by the intimate easy listening vocal style of Bing Crosby and began his musical career in the swing era with bandleaders Harry James and Tommy Dorsey. Sinatra found success as a solo artist after he signed with Columbia Records in 1943, becoming the idol of the “bobby soxers”. He released his debut album, The Voice of Frank Sinatra, in 1946.
